  1. Chrono Trigger Mashup Hey everyone. New to the community. Thought I'd share my remix with you all. Let me know what you think!
  2. Hey all, So a couple of months ago, the Pixel Mixers started their own Final Fantasy VII homage project. Thanks to COVID and life however, things fell far behind than expected. However, happy to say that we finally were able to release the project yesterday! This track is my contribution to that project. While I don't think the track would clear an OCR review based on how it's structured, I thought that you might all still find it enjoyable. So... ENJOY! You can find the full download to the project in the video description.
  3. I finished an arrangement of the Motavia theme from Phantasy Star. It has a bit of an 80s feel to it.
  4. ratchet & clank remixes continues now from up your arsenal.. one of my favorites soundtrack enjoy a new obani gemini pollux
  5. A wave of Zelda nostalgia has come over me recently and I felt compelled to remix the Title theme of Zelda: OoT. The first melody you hear in the game after turning it on is gorgeous and I had to pay tribute with this lofi/hip hop inspired cover/remix. I had a lot of fun making it and plan to do more Zelda remixes in the future. I hope you enjoy it!
  6. Hi everybody! Just wanted to share with you guys the Final Fantasy Overture that's just premiered on YouTube. It's for a full-scale Orchestra that consists of over a dozen pieces from 9 different FF games, all written by the great Nobuo Uematsu. This year, I conducted a performance (in part) of The Creation of Hyrule at MAGFest, and in the volunteer Orchestra were members of the Triforce and Videri String Quartets. As a vote of thanks, I constructed this Overture for String Octet, but then thought about Orchestrating it for a Full Orchestra. This is that full Orchestra Version, accompanied by a video of my own making. Please enjoy! DISCLAIMER: Music is by Nobuo Uematsu and Yoko Shimomura, all visuals are of in-game footage/cutscenes.
  7. Hey everyone, this is my first post here! I made a remix to Sonic & Knuckles' Death Egg Zone. I am a bassist first, and keyboardist second. I really enjoyed playing the bass line to this song in a more funkified manner, and I was curious if I could funk-up the whole song. To be honest, I almost gave up on this project because I didn't feel I had the creativity to make it possible, then after playing around with new ideas I found a sound that I liked and kept it going from there. I REALLY want to grow as a videogame remixer, and I'd love any critical feedback that you can think of. If you have none, I'd value if you mentioned what you enjoy instead! Here is the original song for those who haven't heard it before: Here is my remix:
  8. Simple EDMish/electronic? arrangement of Sky Sanctuary Zone I made! Trying to learn to mix better. Hope you enjoy!
  9. Hey everyone ! Here's my post-rock cover of the main theme of Outer Wilds. Enjoy !
  10. Hi OCRemix - I'm looking for some feedback on a remix I'm working on for the Underground Sewers theme from Chrono Trigger. I knew from the start that I wanted to try to remix this track with an EDM/clubby feel. I wanted a build-up into the overall theme of the track. Now that I've gotten the main melody down, I've hit a roadblock on what to do next. Any thoughts you can share would mean a ton to me Some things I'm struggling with now: Creatively approach - I've only got about a minute of the track so far, debating whether to find a new song to add to the remix or repeat some of the verses Mastering - How does the track feel overall? EQ balanced? Effective panning? Any instruments that stand out (in a good or bad way?)? Any other mastering tips I should consider? Percussion - any suggestions on how to spruce things up to keep it interesting? I'm still an amateur remixer using FL studio built-in plugins, so any feedback (whether large, small, obvious or not) is greatly appreciated!! Thank you so much! 11. Yo everyone! I released new version of this all time classic song from Touhou 4 "Bad Apple". It was very fun project to learn some new stuff with Serum vst (making risers and fallers, pluck sounds, bass etc.) Feedback is very welcome. For example, what kind of feelings do you have on mixing balance overall? Original song:
  12. Here's my remake of the Hateno Village theme from BotW, the version played during the night. The original is just a little bit slower...I sped it up a tad to keep it under 4 minutes. I still think it captures a slower/softer feeling than the original. Just like my Hateno Day version, I added in the Kakariko Village theme and Zelda Theme the second time around, both which fit in pretty well with the original. I used some of the game ambience. Hope you enjoy! Constructive criticism welcome.
  13. Hey there. I submitted this to OC Remix and got some feedback from a judge but I want to dive into what does and doesn't work and what I can do to make it work. Or, at the very least, learn where my weak spots in terms of production and composition are. "Midgar Sludge" (On Google Drive) It was noted that the song has some glaring issues w/ frequencies (something I admittedly struggle with), bad sound quality, and it was added that the music sounds too "rigid." Some background: I've been messing around with composing on and off for a long time but I don't have any formal background in music. I just starting playing around with Reason one day as a teenager and just kind of went from there. So while I learned to get this far on my own, I know jack all about production unfortunately. I want to get better at it both so I can submit better music here, but also so I can improve my own original releases (neonshudder.bandcamp.com). I'm sure some of the issue is only having composed within Reason more or less, but I know there's more to it than that but I don't know where to start. It's a little bit humbling to have to admit it after trying to write music for some 15 years now but it is what it is.
  14. Hi everyone! Here's a new piece just completed - an Orchestral Prelude of the Main Themes from Super Smash Bros Ultimate and Super Smash Bros. Brawl, combined into one single arrangement. The physical, combative and martial element as well as the hype these fantastic games produce, by virtue of being as close to the ultimate crossover as one can get, are just ideal for Orchestral arrangements, and can be manipulated to convey any and every emotion under the sun. The competitive atmosphere is what I have tried to capture in this arrangement, and hope I have done that justice! from Super Smash Bros Ultimate by Hideki Sakamoto. If ever they play music at a SSB eSporting event, I hope they choose this, as it was written with that in mind! Original Music by Hideki Sakamoto, visuals are in-game cutscenes. Enjoy!
  15. Hey, i haved time for a new game remix. now comes a 2nd remix from the ratchet & clank series. this time from the r&c 2 planet dobbo testing facility. hope you like it
  16. Working on Compression Levels. Got the track to punch a little more than earlier ones.
  17. Hey everybody! Here's a new Piano Arrangement for you all, it's not a particularly complex or substantial piece this time, just a little version of the Animal Crossings Main Theme which I wanted to try out. As so many people are playing it nowadays, I thought I'd choose the main theme for people to have a go at if they wanted to try. This piece is pne of the monthly Patreon pieces (link in the video) DISCLAIMER: Original music is by Kazumi Totaka, video is original in-game footage.
  18. Super Street Fighter 2 - T Hawk Theme Remix (UPDATED) Hi! Hoping to get some feedback on this remix ive done. I'm mostly done with it but i'm trying to polish it up. Some questions. Is it too busy, cluttered sounding? Is it too bass heavy? I tried a brighter variant with more mids and went back to this. The instrumentation ok? Also if you spot any faux pas in there that ive missed, let me know and i'll argue that it was intentional :P Thanks for the advice, ive made some small updates.less swing, levels on pads changed in places. added some definition to the lead sound (hopefully). layered a couple more instruments the comp section, ive made it a little better. sorry liontamer, i didnt change it that much i kinda like the simplicity of it. I'm hoping to get this to a point where i can submit it. Thanks in advance. EDIT: Remix:(updated version) Original:
  19. EQd out some of the mud and compressed the master track for more punch ! Lots of room for improvement. Let me know your thoughts. Thanks.
