Gollgagh Posted December 9, 2009 Posted December 9, 2009 OCR's 0001-1900 done downloading I'll finish up downloading the rest as I listen Quote
The Author Posted December 9, 2009 Posted December 9, 2009 A new webcomic! I need to know what has been happening on the emulation scene. (http://overclocked.org/OCgeezers.htm) Still love it, in a retro sort of way... Bring us back. Yeah, it's cold and lonely here... Quote
Level 99 Posted December 9, 2009 Posted December 9, 2009 Brushfire, Epicenter, and myself will probably be doing something called "The OCADies": OverClocked After Dark awards in honor of this momentous occasion. We'll need some clever suggestions for award categories as well, and may figure out of to do some sort-of live show in collaboration with Radio:thasauce. Quote
Flare4War Posted December 9, 2009 Posted December 9, 2009 I'll drink a lot and listen to the old remixes that I heard so long ago that got me hooked on this place. Quote
Species8472 Posted December 11, 2009 Posted December 11, 2009 I was thinking of a near-three-hour-long mp3 containing five seconds of music from every single one of the OCReMixes, but that sounds like a terrible, terrible idea. The version I made came out to 7 hours 17 minutes. I also included removed tracks and projects. Quote
Gollgagh Posted December 11, 2009 Posted December 11, 2009 gfg dude how long did it take you to make that Quote
Species8472 Posted December 11, 2009 Posted December 11, 2009 Honestly, it is just the beginnings of the tracks with fade ins and outs. So I was able to find a way of automating the hard part of the process. Quote
Geoffrey Taucer Posted December 11, 2009 Posted December 11, 2009 I'll drink a lot and listen to the old remixes that I heard so long ago that got me hooked on this place. I'm down with that. Quote

K.B. Posted December 11, 2009 Posted December 11, 2009 Going by the day, not the time of day, that ocr was created, more than half of the world has ushered in ocr's tenth birthday. So the celebration is well underway! But for those last minute gift-purchasers who are still unsure what to give, this may help. OCR is ten years old. The average lifespan for webpages is estimated at 44-75 days. The average age of a human is 66.5 years. Being conservative, this gives OCR a human-equivalent age of 3238.5. I suggest formaldehyde. Geoffrey Taucer Posted December 11, 2009 Posted December 11, 2009 Wow, I was in 7th grade when OCR was born. Quote

JH Sounds Posted December 11, 2009 Posted December 11, 2009 Happy birthday! So, is there gonna be a cake with a pair of headphones on it? Quote
Gollgagh Posted December 11, 2009 Posted December 11, 2009 Listening commenced. Huh there's 4 days, 20 hours, 22 minutes in just 0001-1900 that's a bit more than I expected, but nothing I can't do Quote
MkVaff Posted December 11, 2009 Posted December 11, 2009 damn I can't believe it's been almost 10 years since I started remixing. Where does the time go??? Happy Birfday OCR!! Woohoo!! Quote
Platonist Posted December 11, 2009 Posted December 11, 2009 I've been celebrating for a couple of days by listening to ocr2003 (pre-1000), today i'll start going through 2002. that's gonna take some time. (OMG! OVER 300 TRACKS) probably a couple of days too. but when i've done 2001 i've heard every remix on the site (i already did 2000 and 1999 and 1001-Present has been in my playlists since 2006.) Happy Birthday OCR! Love the site, the community, the people. Congratulations goes to djp for running it (AND US!!11!) for so long. Quote
Gollgagh Posted December 11, 2009 Posted December 11, 2009 I still wish that the mixes were tagged with their OCR# it would make keeping track of where I am a lot easier :\ Quote
DCT Posted December 11, 2009 Posted December 11, 2009 OCR is 10?! As if I didn't feel old enough already... I mean, happy birthday! *raises glass* Quote
