stx-Vile Posted June 16, 2004 Posted June 16, 2004 Ah ha, the music from map16 of evilution... very nice and mysterious sounding. BTW, that sound at 2:07 is the sound of a Spider Mastermind (Doom 1's final boss) waking up. Quote
Nase Posted June 16, 2004 Posted June 16, 2004 heya, you made it buddy nicely done, very atmospheric. i still prefer your last doom remix that got rejected though... Quote
djredlight Posted June 17, 2004 Posted June 17, 2004 This mix is awesome, i absolutely adore the gated synthwork. Works really well in this tune. The doom spiderdemon and the intro computer samples are also a very nice touch. A great, professional sounding production. Excellent work TO =D Quote
Guest Posted June 18, 2004 Posted June 18, 2004 this beat is awesome, sounds very mysterious and sounds like the good ole' doomish theme. time to add this to my collection. Quote
Crono3of3time Posted July 3, 2004 Posted July 3, 2004 I think I've heard that soundbyte from the 2'07" point before.. heh.. the tone is haunting Quote
The Orichalcon Posted September 13, 2004 Posted September 13, 2004 I think I've heard that soundbyte from the 2'07" point before.. heh.. the tone is haunting The sound is the noise when the Spider Mastermind is powering up. Thanks for the comments everyone, I used Spectrasonics Stylus and Atmosphere to put together this piece, and a hell of a lot of time tweaking EQ, Distortion, Compression and LFO. Quote
NeOmega Posted September 18, 2004 Posted September 18, 2004 Im not sure what Final Doom is. I am sure this remix is dope freaky. Ahhh yeah. Quote
Devonai Posted December 13, 2004 Posted December 13, 2004 I downloaded this remix before I actually played Final Doom (I was firmly addicted to Diablo 1 when it came out), so I was simply hoping that it would have a Doom feel to it. Well it sure does, and it quickly became one of my favorites. The Spider Mastermind sound effect is still creepy everytime I hear it. I've since played through Final Doom (with jDoom) and I can say this is a huge improvement on the original track! Quote
OceansAndrew Posted August 9, 2007 Posted August 9, 2007 Great synth programming; the sounds here are excellent. One issue I tend to have with doom soundtracks is that they tend to simply be chord progressions without any ornamentation; usually not exciting enough for me. This is somewhat the case with this mix, but enough is done throughout to make it more interesting with textures. Quote
Nec5 Posted August 10, 2007 Posted August 10, 2007 I remember playing Starcraft with this music substituting the regular zerg music(just for a change of pace). Fun times. Great song. Quote
ella guro Posted December 6, 2009 Posted December 6, 2009 Despite having played Final Doom, I don't recall any of the music. The synth and drum programming are both nice, and this is well produced. It could just be the source, but this isn't really holding my interest. It's nice, it sounds good. But I agree with what OA says about it being chord progressions without much ornamentation. TO sounds like he's being pretty clever with what source he has, there's just not a lot of substantive stuff to come back to. Quote
MechaFone Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 Good strong beats, keeps my head nodding, and me entertained. Quote
