Liontamer
Updated Rmrfstar's Wikipedia page for the project. Check it out at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kong_in_Concert, and of course Binnie or anyone else that can genuinely contribute to the page is encouraged to fix any potential inaccuracies, provide additional details for the project, and peel my banana. Bummer
Where to begin? I can begin with to thank everyone for this awesome concert. Chris, Trevor and Binnie and all the great remixers making this possible, you did some real good music from an old SNES classic, but DKC really do have one of the best gamemusic I know. I practically downloaded every one of them, they were so great with many different styles that makes a good collection of mixes that fits every person. Thank you for the terrific, marvelous and brilliant remixes that really gave my mp3player something to cheer about. Seriously, thank you for a great concert that will be remembered for a long time in our hearts. Nah, that was lame, but it will sure be known for us as one of the greatest events to OCRemix. Thanks dudes!
Maxime
Great, great work overall. There are some tracks I don't fully appreciate, but there are tracks that I REALLY love. "Mine Cart Misadventure" by Protricity has my preference, although it's not my favourite music from DKC! This remix is excellent, I can't get enough of those awesome distorted guitar parts! The best of the compilation for me without any doubt. "One Zero One" by Icy Guy also came close to be my favourite track. Excellent rhythm, delicious instruments... I simply love this instrument (synthy organ? bowed glass?) which reproduces the main melody (which can be heard as soon as 00:17). The "Cave Dweller Concert" remix by Adhesive Boy is very good as well. I love the reverbish xylophone for the main melody! "Faunaphonic" by zircon got my attention with its excellent use of Roland-like celtic harps, sitars and overdriven sounds for the main melody. Very good atmospheric and ambient track which easily reminds me of the original. "dolidop do wop" sounds very good overall, thanks to the intelligent use of Rhodes (Wurlitzer?) electric pianos and other sweet and distorted sounds by analoq. "Boiling Point" is also well done, althrough I'm not really fond of (heavy)-metal, I think I've recognized the guitar used in it; it sounds very close to the sound of the Distortion/Overdriven Guitars SoundFont bank by Kamac, which I've used in my own bank since I've got my Sound Blaster Live!. "Aerofunknamics" by bLiNd leaves me with the impression that this track was the easiest one to remix, because of its very close side from the original. Which is not bad at all. The Gang-Plank Galleon remixes also contains some of the most authentic-sounding piano parts I've heard so far from a game soundtrack remix. "Echoes" is good, but somewhat lacks the sweet atmosphere the original had with the pan flutes. About the other tracks, they are good as well, but they are not among my absolute favourites, either because they lack some musical stuff (atmosphere, melodies...) necessary to really remind me of the original soundtrack I loved, or either because I did not appreciate the original enough to enjoy the remix as well. But, to finish, I will simply congratulate all the artists who devoted time to produce those free tracks, and all the persons who contributed to make such a quality free compilation (easily printable CD inserts, WAV recordings so that the music can be put on a CD without any loss of quality...). If only all my favourite games could benefit from such quality compilations of remixes...
Metal-Geo
Site doesn't work again. AH well. I should've commented on this a long time before. But I'd like to say that this is my absolute favorite remix project. Enjoying every track anytime.
Linearity
Site update +1. I'm so happy, it's perfect! Kong in Concert is so unbelievably cool it makes me want to pee my pants.
atmuh
Completely awesome interpretations of some classic songs. Some of the songs have become some my favorite remixes(one zero one for ex.).

Fusilliban
This whole project is fantastic. There's nothing bad on the album, and there are quite a few tracks which are utterly fantastic. I've had a battle with myself for some time now as to whether or not I should play this whole album as a complete work on my radio show - and the album is looking like it's going to win. Great stuff, guys.
viewtiful
Absolutely brilliant, thoroughly enjoyed. Unfortunately however I can't enjoy the second CD completely as I only ever played the game at my friend’s house when I was young and never got past the temple. But all of the tracks up to the temple theme reminded me of all the fun (and frustration) I had playing it on my friends SNES back in the day (1990's)
The Mutericator
Prophecy is a God. "Chekan Winter" owns you all. The rest are really good too. None of this rhymed.

Kal aMari
Prophecy is a God."Chekan Winter" owns you all. The rest are really good too. None of this rhymed. QFE My personal favorite of the project. Thrash the Plank and West Coast DK Island (Harmon'd trumpets FTW!) get honorable mention.

TCK
Will there ever be a Kong in Concert 2 or 3 Site project? Oh man, I'd kill for a Kong in Concert 2. Sign me up when that one comes around. Protricity pretty much had Kong in Concert 2 sorted out on his own, and there's a few DKC2 mixes he's done that aren't on the site. Don't think he's done anything new on the DKC front since Krool Intentions.Something I noticed the other day, there hasn't been a Donkey Kong Country remix on OCR for over a year. Perhaps even more shocking, there hasn't been a non-KiC DKC OCR for almost a year and a half. I'd organise KiC2 myself if I had the integrity. Richard
You guys did a really great job. I've always loved DKC's music, and you guys have made me love it so much more. I only disliked "Funkey Monkey Love" and "Idols of Hanuman". Anyway, besides those 2 songs, great job guys! I've listened to most of the tracks over 80 times each and think this album is one of the greatest remixes of all time. Awesome! PLEASE make a Kong in Concert 2! Although I think DJP would love to see people tackle this material and go even further with it. If you don't suck at computer music as I do, go for it! Link please? I really liked his DKC2 remixes. Doubt you could find them online (even I forget where I found them) but I could email any of these songs to you: Entering the Cryptic Woods Journey Through the Mines The former is the same source he covered with Forest Birdcussion; obviously he wasn't happy with the work and started over. Still decent songs, mind.

para
I downloaded the kong in concert album. However, I'm having trouble getting it onto itunes. The individual songs wont go just the first(not the second) cd as a whole. and when I play it, all it does is just play song for like ten seconds at a time. How can I fix this? also, what other programs will they work on? I also tried realplayer and it didnt work at all.
Tenucha
Not enough Funky Kong love! Funky's always been my favourtie Kong. That being said it's my favourtie song on the whole mix! Which is a good thing since it's the only Funky theme remix on this site X_X Lots of great tracks here that really compliment the original arrengments. I hope one day the original DKC audio group hears how there music inspired this project. Again, my fav songs ended up being the faster more rock songs. My critique would be... with Funky's theme... emphisize a bit more the "Stirkes" (I dunno what else to call 'em) that start around the :41sec mark. Also Candy's theme, IMO, was the weakest song... I know the source material was kinda... cheep porn-esque but the vocals on the remix were not all that satisfing. Anyways! Great Project!! I also vouch and suport a Kong in Koncert 2. That one has alot of songs and alot of fun can be had... Alot of pirate themed stuff going around so that could be quite fun. Plus hearing how Wrinkley and Swanky's theme remix would sound hehe... not to mention the new Cranky and Funky themes... ohh yes..!
Thrik
Man, I randomly thought about this project again just now. I can't believe it's been about 2.5 years since it was completed -- where the hell did time go? I've not read much of this thread's continuation so I'd imagine this has already been suggested, but I'd definitely love to see a sequel album (Covering DKC2 of course!) one day become a reality. In my opinion the music in DKC2 is far more appealing, and there's consistently awesome music across the whole board; I can't think of one weak track, which makes for some stunning material to work with. I bet people would jump in if it were actually put together, so here's a prompt to anyone with status who feels up to the job: go for it!
