Saunders
Obliterator 'Gun and Bass' I can’t say I personally like this mix. But it’s got some cool eerie strings that give it a creepy sort of atmosphere. The left panned warbly sounds near the end help add to that feeling. The drums don’t really hold that creepiness up well though. Oh well, I was never a fan of mutagene’s style, sorry to say. 2/
mDuo13
This is a neat mix, with a mix of creepiness and grooviness. I don't have a clue what the instruments are, but they sound good, and the interesting chirp along with the beat is kinda cool. Nothing too outstanding, but nothing bad about this mix. Beatdrop
I'm a huge fan of mutagene's style (which may come as a surprise to some based on my previous remix styles), and this mix is no exception. Every song he's made has a really creepy, atmospheric ambience to it. Typically he goes with Dub, but this Drum 'N' Bass style remix is definitely a change of pace, and a good one at that. Lots of fun skittery drum patterns and lots of cool textures. Fun for the whole, eerie, wacked-out family.
lazygecko
I like this. Dark, moody, yet not hard Drum n' Bass. Somehwat reminds me of IDM (Intelligent Dance Music) but without super crazy drumbreaks. Every now and then I try to make some DnB myself, but the results aren't exactly fabolous. But hey, practice makes perfect right? 9/
DarkFrog
Excellent! I really like the drums that play for a few seconds at 2:15, they remind me quite a bit of the "run fool, RUN!" sound track in System Shock 2 (don't know the actual name), and of the drums in Curve's "Worst Mistake". Definitely a fun piece to listen to, bravo! -Austin Spafford
jordex
I don't why I like this song so much but Mutagene's songs always just seem so interesting. Most of Mutagene's work is just atmosphere and overtop a bassline and drumtrack is layed. K so like his other songs, this one starts out with pads or ambience creating atmosphere then a sweet drumtrack jumps in Anyways yeah, excellent song, I'ld love to hear more from Mutagene
DarkFrog
I'd just thought I'd pop my head in the door again, and reiterate that this song is a joy to listen to after all this time. Congratulations on a job well done! -Austin Spafford
OceansAndrew
A seemingly overlooked track and one that deserves a little bit of attention, this is probably the only Mutagene track that I really have gotten into. The more energetic beats make his typical dense atmospheres much more interesting in the short-term, and then the deeper stuff comes with repeated listenings. A pretty nice compromise, if you ask me. Production is nice and clean on this one as well.
Liontamer
Wow. I definitely didn't remember this one at all, but the groove here is really excellent. The production was really clean, and I loved all of the sound choices here. That bass is definitely nice and phat, and as always, Alex is the man when it comes to creating sophisticated and engaging textures. We could sure use Alex's uniqueness, creativity, and penchant for mixing underappreciated games nowadays. It's been all Zelda/Chrono/FF these past few days. big giant circles
wow, I actually used to have this game. Never beat it, and I personally got frustrated with how lost I'd get, and if I recall, it wasn't that easy. Of course, I was like 13 back then, too. Anyway, pretty intriguing mix--I thought the reverb was up a little much, and the EQ on the muddier side of things, but it had a nifty enough groove to it. Again, definitely not bad for it's time. DragonAvenger
The spacious feel in this piece really is pretty cool. This is definately one of the most interesting Mutagene pieces I've heard, and while it remains mostly atmospheric, I could see myself enjoying this one every so often. I feel like this deserves more reviews than it's gotten. It's not a diamond in the rough, but definately something shiny in the sand. Bahamut
I like this - it has a nice calming atmosphere to it, and of course the beats brought on by the drums.
WesternZypher
This has never left my playmix since it first went up. This is the mix I run up the stairs too when I'm all like, "Man, $!#?! the elevator". Another great mix from someone we never heard from again!
