m68030 Posted June 2, 2002 Posted June 2, 2002 Moon Patrol 'Shanecappella Vox Beat' Cool dude, it's Moon Patrol. This is a very odd remix, but well executed as far as arrangement for body parts goes. Just listen, if nothing else you'll get a kick out of it. Quote
Weirdboyscott Posted June 24, 2002 Posted June 24, 2002 The best part is when he gets a game over and starts again, gotta love the CONSTANT DETONATIONS!! Very cool how the whole thing is accapella, anything accapella is neat, and an accapella of an old 80s game, just freakin cool. Quote
Psyber Posted October 31, 2002 Posted October 31, 2002 I really liked this remix because it brought back old memories of when I first played Moon Patrol. It's very nicely done in accapella. Now I want to buy the arcade version because I want to play Moon Patrol again. Quote
blahpers Posted December 12, 2002 Posted December 12, 2002 Wow, nice job for a capella! I'm curious how you did the sound for the alien flying overhead. Quote
littlechava Posted February 10, 2005 Posted February 10, 2005 a friend just told me to download this remix, and after listening to it i've decided while it may not be the best its definitely the coolest remix on ocr. its funny as hell. Quote
Navi Posted September 16, 2005 Posted September 16, 2005 lol this isnt bad. clipping used as precussion. haha. nice. cheesy and not the best quality, but humorous and fun. Quote
zylance Posted June 2, 2006 Posted June 2, 2006 Wow, this mix needs more love. It really is one of the best on OCR. Quote

Chickenwarlord Posted October 11, 2006 Posted October 11, 2006 Haha! Clipping as percussion. Brilliant! This mix is like a barrel of monkeys. No, I'm not going to explain it. Quote
OceansAndrew Posted July 6, 2007 Posted July 6, 2007 Pretty strange, and not really for me. It does make me wonder though what a "serious" a capella mix would sound like with beat boxing and the like. I bet it would be amazing.. Quote

It does make me wonder though what a "serious" a capella mix would sound like with beat boxing and the like. I bet it would be amazing.. Exactly my thoughts. I found this to be really amusing, and worth checking out. Not something I'm going to keep, but it made me smile. Quote
42 Posted December 16, 2008 Posted December 16, 2008 Interesting. ...and bizarre. Although I really like the concept of an a capella mix, I don't necessarily this nor Moon patrol is the best approach. Still an "A" for effort though. Quote
Marmiduke Posted October 23, 2009 Posted October 23, 2009 Props are in order for a fine curiosity piece. But what else can you say about something like this? I'm guessing it has survived through the lockdowns because it's brimming with novelty, but mix wise this is so eh. It's sketchy and pretty damn rough sounding, but I'm a big fan of the innocence in this and the total lack of seriousness. In a way, this could be considered a boundary-pusher in terms of instruments and experimentation. It's a pity it isn't just an a capella remake of the game music and sound effects. With polish and some fresh ideas, this could have been so much more. I actually really love this. But I can't say this is a great mix. It sounds more like the product of a lot of time and a lot of boredom to me. Quote
Crulex Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 Hahaha, well, this is certainly amusing and entertaining if nothing else. Hey, if it can put smiles on faces and get a few laughs, I'm all for it. Clipping for percussion, while an interesting idea, kinda wears on me after a while and doesn't help that my speakers are as rough as they are. Beatboxing with a capella and whistling and other weird effects......yeah, this is an experiment in voice recording, and while I can't say that this will be added to my playlist, it was well worth the listen for the amusement factor alone.
