Joe Redifer Posted May 13, 2002 Posted May 13, 2002 Final Fantasy VII 'Final Ecstasy' I'll say that this is, most certainly, a must download. The beginning is the best, with softly plucked electric guitar. Then some distorted guitar comes in for the main melody. Did I say the beginning was the best? Nah. The entire song is equally good amongst itself. That is to say that the thing is fantastic and shows some nice skill from Ailsean. However whoever is on the drums is the BEST part of this tune, as they just kick everything all to hell. Just kidding, you'll barely notice the drums, but they serve their purpose. Quote
TheWired Posted August 7, 2002 Posted August 7, 2002 Finding this song is like findnig a million dollars lying on the ground. The beautifull intro of this mix leads to the psychedelic and completely beautifull played guitar, i dont think that anyone could ever master a song as well as this. Its god the right ammount of bass to keep the song alive, the guitar is pitched just as high as it should be, and it makes (for the first time in history) Nobuo Uematsu look like he could do better ! Ailsean is throughly one of the best artists around, and this is one of the many reasons why. Quote
Shikeru Posted November 14, 2002 Posted November 14, 2002 Okay, this is quite possibly the best Remix I've ever heard. It's almost like this is the original, and everything else is just mediocre. If you don't have this yet, get it. In my opinion, this is the one remix I could live with. Quote
King Dedede Posted February 2, 2003 Posted February 2, 2003 Words can't describe how awsome this mix is. This is as beautiful as any piece of classical music, or even more so, and it can show the true potential of video game music to any non-believers out there. Quote
Eden Posted March 29, 2003 Posted March 29, 2003 Soothing! Beautiful and dreamy, this is the kind of music I want to listen to when I'm too wired to fall asleep. This mix feels like a warm embrace - I love the atmosphere. And, Ailsean: Kudos on your guitarplay! Quote
Zack_Gainsborough Posted April 3, 2003 Posted April 3, 2003 this is a real cool remix... Makes you feel like they should make a new ff just to go with it ) Quote
blackstar Posted April 11, 2003 Posted April 11, 2003 Talk about guitar. Jeebus! Steve Vai, Satch- eat the electronics of your guitars out. Make way for Ailsean. Jeez. Arpeggios are hard enough as it is, but then to palm mute each note perfectly??? nutty. Perfect bends, perfect note, perfect time (nearly- he's not a freakin robot). I love you. Marry me. That was a joke. Quote
Jeff Posted April 23, 2003 Posted April 23, 2003 Great song. Pick up the remastered version if you can. It used to be up at mp3.com/ailsean and at vgmix.com, but it's hard to find now. Quote
Temporal Posted October 17, 2003 Posted October 17, 2003 I used to really like this piece... until I heard the "remastered" version, which is much, much better. It's on the Project Majestic Mix CD. Yeah, that means you gotta buy it, but it's worth it, trust me. Quote
Bgob Posted January 5, 2004 Posted January 5, 2004 first downlaoded and lsitened to this. Awesome, still one of my favorite. I wish this guy would do more, so please crank out the good stuff buddy. Quote
Sunshine Posted January 5, 2004 Posted January 5, 2004 "Final Ecstacy" is perfect name for this mix. Quote
dethgrwl Posted January 5, 2004 Posted January 5, 2004 Worst remix ever, the work of a amature... Quote
Variable Rush Posted January 5, 2004 Posted January 5, 2004 Dude, what have you been smoking? Ailsean is God of the Guitar. You need to dunk your head in grungy motor oil and recognize Ailsean for the talent he has. Quote
dethgrwl Posted January 5, 2004 Posted January 5, 2004 Well i didn't like it, just being honest. For me to say i like this one, i have to be morally insane. Quote
quarkman Posted April 25, 2004 Posted April 25, 2004 Dude, I don't think morals have anything to do with whether or not the song is good. Which, BTW, it is! Quote
Bahamut Posted April 25, 2004 Posted April 25, 2004 This particular song isn't very good though... Quote
EvilRyu38 Posted April 28, 2004 Posted April 28, 2004 Well i didn't like it, just being honest. For me to say i like this one, i have to be morally insane. Now that is the stupidest thing I have heard in a VERY LONG time. Quote
Clockwork Dolphin Posted May 5, 2004 Posted May 5, 2004 Very nice on the ears, I like how quiet this song is. The mood is great, I just close my eyes and Ailsean takes me to Final Fantasy 7. The guitar has a liquid lullaby tone to it, which is a little more than the song needs, but it's good just the same. My only complaint is that it's doesn't have very much to it, playing it repeatedly can get boring. Likely in my top 5 FF7 remixes (yes, I have listened to more than 5... I've listened to about 30). I wonder what kind of EQ / distortion setup Ailsean has, also kinda wish I had enough cash to buy pedals for my guitar, but ah well. Quote
Al Capwn Posted June 22, 2004 Posted June 22, 2004 Great piece ! What could've been better was to extend the ending part at 2:57 just a bit more Otherwise hell with it AWESOME piece! Quote
antacid03 Posted June 22, 2004 Posted June 22, 2004 There are no words to describe how awesome this remix is. I listen to it and I can't stop until it's done. A must for anybody who enjoys the music of OverClocked Remix, one of many! Quote
DragonFireKai Posted August 24, 2004 Posted August 24, 2004 I must applaud Ailsean for his masterful electric guitar, He puts it in nearly every song, but every time he makes it different, and never stale. I love the Final Fantasy series, and I'm glad that he can do justice to the beloved theme. Quote
kaip Posted March 28, 2005 Posted March 28, 2005 Yeah! This is awesome. Kudos to you Ailsean! Very trippy, very surreal, very "I was high when I played Final Fantasy". I'm impressed... Quote
baandit12289 Posted September 3, 2005 Posted September 3, 2005 This remix is awesome but you can get a higher quality version and some other sweeet Ailsean remixes at http://www.oneupstudios.com/music/ailsean.php Quote
Bummer Posted September 21, 2005 Posted September 21, 2005 Is this how the prelude would sound if the player was high? Anyway, a soothing guitarremix with nice drums that proves that a guitarremix doesn´t need to be loud to be great. And for those who hasn´t listened to "terra in black": Ailsean sure knows how to rock. Thank you Ailsean, keep up the good work. Quote
AlexTheGreyWolfe Posted October 11, 2005 Posted October 11, 2005 A very nice remix, but I agree that it would have been nicer if it lasted a bit longer. Quote
