    • I've probably posted this elsewhere in the past, but I found OC Remix by downloading songs off of Napster around 2001.  I used to just search for game music in the Napster app and would download a few songs from favourite games of the time, some original soundtrack, some remixes. One day I clicked into the metadata of one of the Mega Man remixes and seeing the website ocremix.org wondered what this site was all about.  I visited, was blown away that there was a whole website devoted to classic game music remixes, and started combing my way through the library - back then you could still easily accomplish this as the remix count was nowhere as high as it is now. Happy birthday, and thanks so much for providing years of quality tunes!
    • Btw if anyone sees this, if you want to hear a version of this song with vocals, I made one. (I didn't make the vocals, it's a mashup with Eurythmics :D)
    • Man, I would have sworn I chimed in on this. Excellent old-school soundset from MkVaff and an incredible extended intro and build. Loved the popping-style feel of the percussive sounds in the back. The organ cameo sounded great! A great groove with just the right amount of gothic spices here and there. Dug the electrosynths and you just appreciated how fluidly MkVaff evolved the textures; very creative combinations of organic- and electronic-sounding instrumentation throughout!
    • Hey, quite a lot of groove for the old-school ReMixes! You could argue that it should evolve more, but it's catchy enough where that's not a substantial problem, just a subjective one where you wouldn't MIND the track having some more variation. The piano's suuuuper fakey, but has such a quaint, nostalgic quality to it, it's a total throwback. Bass has some solid tone for its day as well. Although some of the sounds show their age, LeeBro's twinkly "Hidden Palace" countermelody found in the intro sounds really posh. Holds up very, very nicely for the pre-OCR00500 side!
    • This ReMix's reverse snare groove is what makes this one for me, the way it comes in only every now and again, and I'm waiting for it and waiting and yay there it is. Yes, there's all this amazing tune work making the Hidden Palace theme nice and chill on top, but I can just get lost in this drum groove for ages. This is very happy to sit in its space and like DA said, it goes into the background but I think that's actually something that works in its favour. Some of the sounds may be dated now as we look in from the future, but that doesn't stop this one from being one of the true classics that deserves more love.
