We literally do not "consider the fans" at any stage of the judging process, because this isn't a popularity contest, this is a creativity contest. This site also is cool with diversity. We're not actively catering to anyone's personal taste. To actually hold DPC's track (or any vocal track) back or put it in a corner because "most people prefer instrumentals"/"think of meeeee, I may not like it" is really closed-minded. Of course, you can dislike whatever you want, but we don't care anyway vis-a-vis track selection or presentation. Separate but equal? Segregation of minorities? Really? Tracks aren't people, but to me your proposal is also silly. Let's not go there. Also, so far, we've only got 266 tracks with any type of lyrics out of 3,056 ReMixes, so 91% of the site is instrumental. But are the vocals TAKING OVER? 0001-1000: 28/885: 3.16% 1001-2000: 83/992: 8.37% 2001-3000: 128/999: 12.81% 3001-3180: 27/180: 15% Hey cool, the trend IS growing. 3 out of every 20 ReMixes lately have had lyrics. 17 out of every 20 tracks being instrumental means instrumentals aren't even close to outnumbered, and that you're needlessly fixating on lyrics. Maybe by the time we reach OCR04000, lyrics will (dangerously) bump up to 16% or 17%. Try not to get too hung up on it. VGM is mostly instrumental, OCR will tip towards instrumental for as long as we're doing this, that's just the numbers. Anyway, TL;DR, you can certainly dislike anything you want, but to tell us to consider some sort of change in how any style or genre of mixes are presented... it ain't happening.2 points -

I promised my leet FF7 OST knowledge, so here it is: Green for definite Orange for uncertain Red for no idea (might be wrong, sorry if so Ryan) 0:00 to 0:35 mostly soundscaping far as I can tell 00:35 - 1:17 very loosely based on the first 4 notes of cid's theme 1:17-1:57 no idea 1:57-2:15 melody is start of cid's theme 2:15-2:32 is sort of sending a dream (0:22-0:42) in the way the melody rises, only picked up on by extrapolating the next melody backkwards 2:32-2:48 is sending a dream extrapolated (0:42-1:00) 2:48-3:26 is very loosely little bronco takes flight 3:26-3:39 hot damn it's cid's theme 3:39-4:12 no idea 4:12-4:42 mucking about very loosely with cid melody (1:08) 4:42-5:03 no idea 5:03-5:30 cid's theme melody, pretty clear (1:03ish) 5:30-5:55 very loosely based on the first 4 notes of cid's theme 5:55-6:19 I think is actually a cheeky reference to the intro of lifestream, the notes match up (0:22 on), if so this is very clever, it's even thematically correct as it's the first tease of the idea of going into space I make that: 3:00 of identifiable 1:11 of sort of but hard to tell 2:09 of not sure at all1 point -

Accidentally missed the deadline to submit, but I don't think it would've mattered for me cuz I was debating on submitting it as a bonus or something. I felt I had a lil bit too much original stuff going on to be MnP. https://soundcloud.com/the-game-to-be-retitled/supercoolmike_isolation1 point -

This was a tune for Meat n Potatoes compo round 37. Source: https://youtu.be/lCNMufnJCuk Rearrangement: https://www.dropbox.com/s/zb25g7c2xb715vd/eino_keskitalo-hajonta-20150710-fc1.mp3?dl=0 Approach: Drum break samples, liveish guitar+bass, a sample of the original piece, 1 synth preset & arbitrary time signature trickery. I like the garage-y feel of the result. Looking to sub this to OCR, so comments to help with that appreciated. I'd like this to be a low-effort endeavor, so I'd rather not redo much if it can pass as it is.1 point
