  1. BA3 trailer was DEFINITELY a highlight of this weekend's panel at MAGFEST, FYI!

  2. First of all; thanks MW for the feedback! I eat that stuff up like you wouldn't believe. Also thanks to everyone who voted for me! I got exactly 7 more votes than I was expecting to. Secondly; I'll say right now that I won't be participating in the Dracula bracket due to other commitments. Best of luck to everyone else in the competition!

  4. What I meant was town themes from more lesser-known games, as in the games themselves were obscure. So trying to stay away from like Final Fantasy town themes and gravitating towards other games with town themes (like Rogue Galaxy or Digimon World Dawn/Dusk or a bunch of others that I had in the old OP but removed cause videos are huge now) that weren't as well known. That was Darke's original plan for the album and I've done my best to stay true to it. And from the start, I've wanted a co-director to help me out with things. So I don't even need to give up the album entirely necessarily. Just need a bit of help in bringing it to completion.

  5. UPDATE: I'm chatting with DJP on it now and we've come to an agreement on this subject. We'll be moving forward with his design and policy.

  6. Alright no drama. I feel like a stockholder though. I have 2 songs on this album that have sat around for almost half of the time I've been on OCR, which is crazy. Maybe I went too far voicing my opinion and I am not really anything like a stockholder. I had high hopes for the songs and how they would be treated. You're right though, it's their album. I can only hope they'll take the suggestion to email in the assets to djp... I don't honestly know why there's so much defensiveness over a website template that had less effort put into it than my tantrum

  7. No drama necessary... @Meteo Xavier, the website is usually one of the last assets to finalize, and doesn't take that long ASSUMING all the other assets - music, copy, and especially art - exist. We've got a pretty functional & flexible template that I've gotten pretty good at populating & personalizing so that it doesn't feel particularly cookie-cutter, but there would have been no point in attempting to implement that template prior to the other assets being final or VERY close to final. Examples of the same template, customized for different projects: http://ff9.ocremix.org/ http://cartography.ocremix.org/ http://shellshocked.ocremix.org/ http://sevensongs.ocremix.org/ http://plumber.ocremix.org/ If you can send me (admin@ocremix.org) what you got, along with all the art, I can 110% take this over, I will *of course* run the final version by project management (as I always do), and it should theoretically be a weight off your shoulders and one less thing to worry about. SOMETIMES during the course of site development a need for additional artwork might arise, and that's the worst case scenario in terms of (usually minor) delays, so the sooner the better Sound good? I apologize if this suggestion is coming later than you would have liked, but I still feel like it will be the most expedient option and the option that will lead to a website that best reflects the quality of the music - from what I've heard, sounds fantastic.

  8. Hopefully I can answer with everyone being at MAG, they can correct me if they need to when they get back. It wouldn't infringe on your "copyrights" but would infringe on the publisher of the original composition, so for everything to be above-board you would need to license the composition from the original publisher. OCR releases the remixes for free in a non-exclusive way, for use in media that is not monetized. To monetize a remix as part of a product (either by OCR or by another entity) without appropriately licensing the material, would infringe on the publisher's rights and they would be entitled to take action against the product. So in short OCR doesn't do it, and you probably shouldn't either, without licensing. Ask that dev if they'll cover the licensing fee in addition to giving you your payment (not take it from your cut). But if they're trying to get remixes of existing music over twitter that they can just use in their game, they're probably not being too ethical about it. Tho it's not for me to judge.

    Starfox - Corneria

I really liked the intro, and the buildup to the melody. But when it finally came at 0:55, I didn't like the instrument you chose for the melody. It doesn't feel like it has any "weight," and just sound bad IMO. 1:07 and 1:44 work much better with that instrument, and I like your decision to make it legato. I liked 1:55, it was a nice transition, and the buildup after it is once again great. But I still don't like melody that comes in at 2:07.

  14. Looking forward to this beast as well. The BadAss series is one of the coolest projects ever in OCR's great history in my opinion.
