  1. I think a Corneria collaboration is the best way to go. Great idea! @TheChargingRhino -- Really like the ideas you have for that (first) Corneria mix. However, just like The 'Boss' Nikanoru said, there's still quite a lot to do. I'd be very glad to help you on that one actually, since it's already pretty inspiring -- throw a couple more ideas in this WIP. I could even manage to get proper guitar recordings too! @The Nikanoru -- Haven't thought of a name just yet. I usually give my mixes a name when they're close to be finished. I'm experimenting stuff right now and would like to have a talk with you when I'll have another WIP ready so I can share my vision of where I want to go with this track and see if it could still have its place within this album. Also, it would be great to have a list of the performers available for collaboration in the first post -- near the current tracklist ^^

  2. Okay, thread has been reset with the new info. Sorry for the confusion @classic_gamer_76, you have submitted a WIP - but it still needs a name! Hmmm. Not sure this is at the level where you can 'drop the mic,' but very interesting. Done. Send me your WIP! I like it, as I'm always down for a little cello action, but lonely ... and short. --- So, I've been thinking about this Corneria thing, as it's the most popular track in the Star Fox series and I'm only choosing one to be featured (bonus tracks still possible!). Well, this weekend, a friend of mine suggested that since it's so popular, why don't we make this into one big collaboration? Tell me what you all think.

  3. This particular saga is ended; Brandon has requested removal of his mixes from OCR, and we have decided that it makes sense, given his continued reluctance to admit any wrongdoing and continued insistence that we are in some way at fault / corrupt / whatever. Put frankly, I don't trust him, I don't believe he learned anything from any of this, and I believe he'd just do it all over again in a heartbeat the next time something came up that he didn't like, didn't understand, misinterpreted, etc. As much of a fan as I am of the music he personally has released via OCR, which we have stood behind, and the albums he has coordinated... if I'm taking time away from my daughters to work on OCR, it has to be for the music, for the site, and for the community, not for the twisted ego & paranoia of a single artist intent on stirring up drama, baiting people, making unfounded accusations, etc. I am willing to endure quite a bit for the betterment of OCR, and I realize that not ALL of the tasks that I'm responsible for are going to be fun, or enjoyable, or without controversy, but I cannot be expected to indefinitely babysit the fragile ego/psyche of someone who continuously makes bad faith accusations without evidence and sees no fault in his own actions, not to mention a LONG history of claims of harassment by other community members, abusive behavior on the forums, etc. We will be mailing FF3 artists as well as collaborators who have worked with Brandon on posted mixes, as those will remain on the site unless a consensus decision to remove is reached by all parties. Existing published albums are unaffected by this process. It's sad, but my goodness... I can't be expected to have unlimited patience and tolerance, nor can our staff. Long time coming. Time to move on.

  4. While I kind of disliked the long intro, the music is awesome. I was especially enamored by the transition from Village to Battlefield. I was expecting a full-out Battlefield part there, but the softer, more subtle approach actually worked pretty good. I liked it

  5. You are in the Purple Rain now, DS. I have added 'current performers' to the top of the thread under staff. Anyone else who is interested, let me know. I've also put myself down for Titania. from Star Fox SNES. It's a weird one and no idea what I'm going to come up with, but a drumbeat and some deep, dark, dirty, distorted guitar has been running around in my head for a while now...

  6. Oh, and make sure you change my track claim to purple since I sent you the WAV

  7. Yes, that's a band that has melody and three other musicians. From what I saw on VGMdb, melody arranged the entire suite and played the guitar parts for the band recording. They also came back together for the recent Nintendo 64 tribute as well

  8. I love when someone has the ability to record their music instead of using samples/soundfonts. Provides such a nice feel. Some parts of this felt a little abrupt, almost as if some of the instruments were out of sync. Mainly at 0:05 I can hear the piano clashing in beat with the drums and guitar, which takes my focus away from the song. I still think that you did a great job on this, maybe with a bit of audio editing you could submit this to OCRemix, though I don't know if that's your intentions or not. Great work!

  9. My apologies! I've been working an exciting new excavation site with an unfamiliar team*. I'm cut off from the outside world unless I make the trek to a nearby village and ask some traveling merchants to carry letters for me**, so it's been difficult to maintain contact. It's rumored that deep within some nearby ruins, there sleeps an ancient technology*** that would allow me to communicate with you all at any time. I'll do everything in my power to recover this artifact and return it to its rightful place in the lobby of my mansion. In the meantime, I believe Professor Rocket has contacted the project's current members. Hoping you are well****, Professor Lemon *New apartment, new roommate **I have no computer and don't feel like typing much on my tablet ***Willpower ****I am a poo poo

  10. The high pitched instrument hurts my ears tbh. Maybe make it slightly less high pitch, then it would sound much better.

  11. Welp, thanks for all the input. I already downloaded the app, and it seems to really be something I can use, so thanks for that. I'm also going to try to wake up earlier regularly. Generally everything Garpocalypse said seems like a great idea. I don't actually play video games, but I suppose it's always a good idea to spend more time on music and less time on relaxing and doing stuff for yourself, whatever that is. As long as I don't overdo it of course. Also just a kind reminder that I'm looking for specific feedback for my problem and that this is not the right place to mindlessly advertise your own stuff without any actual relation to the current topic.

  12. It'd be weird NOT to wish the album well... so I do as well And I hope many artists choose to submit their arrangements here. An email will be forthcoming on the logistics of all of this.

  13. Update: I got a message from Brandon. He wants to take the FF3 project off OCR, for various reasons. The album isn't cancelled but Brandon wants to move its management and release outside OCR. You can get in touch with him here: brandonestr@gmail.com. (Please note I'm just reporting what he told/asked me to do, and that I may or may not support this decision, thank you.)
