  2. Hey, it's my favorite track of the album. Neat-o. I think Yoshiblade's arrangement style works wonders for a track like this one - rather than significantly changing the structure, he adds more and more over the sparse source that was giving, changing the original feel of the track quite a bit. It's a very effective method in getting more out of something that didn't provide much. Them wubs were pretty tasty, too, as were most of the effects he sprinkles throughout. The beginning does a great job giving this a more haunting atmosphere than normal, too. It's some quality stuff, here. I never knew that tidbit about Fritz, either - that was a pretty cool bit of trivia provided as a bonus. Great track all around!

  3. Quite a bit of activity the past few days, so I thought it'd be good to share some updates. The tracks by DusK, Tuberz McGee and Jorito (yep, me) are basically fully done (if we all can get over the never ending last nitpicks we obsess over ) So that's 3 tracks that I would consider finished. Furthermore, Audiocolor updated his track and it's also very near final. Same goes for WillRock. Chernabogue is waiting for recordings of his army of guitarists, bassists and sax players and by the looks of it he'll be in time for the deadline. KingTiger received his guitar recordings too, and also things have settled down for him somewhat so that he can get his track in better shape. We're still waiting to hear back from @zykO, @Lucasonic and @Bowlerhat, hope their tracks are still on schedule and going well

  4. I could use some more ears on this. Gimme your thoughts! Source: Zelda: Wand of Gamelon map theme (plus bits of the original Zelda theme) ReMix: Only Link Can Do the Duck Walk I was going to call it "Zelda Does the Duck Walk," but it turns out she doesn't use that term in her tutorial! It is written, only Link can do the duck walk.

  5. Sup OCR! Journey to the Centre of the World is my second full length original album, and is available for download at Bandcamp! Journey to the Centre of the World is a 10 track album, which i've been working on for the past 2-3 years. The album is a big fat 80's inspired Chiptune/Rock fusion. It has authentic chiptunes, less authentic chiptunes, and big fat 80s production with operatic singing and crazy synth/guitar solos! And it's FREE!!! https://willrock1.bandcamp.com/album/journey-to-the-centre-of-the-world Track 1 features the Vocal Talents of Valentino Francavilla (Best known as the vocalist of ShockFront) and the famitracker chops of @DaMonz and the album also features a Remix by OCRs @DDRKirby(ISQ)! You can download it on Bandcamp, or on overclocked records for the small price of free, but every donation helps me support myself and continue to make great music! If you end up enjoying the music, please consider paying what you think is a fair price for the download Thanks guys! REALLY hope you enjoy this one, a lot of effort went into it!

  8. Some good ideas here, but i think the execution isn't quite where it needs to be. The general production seems a little subdued and could stand to be brighter. A good example of this type of sound really clicking would be here: Notice how the percussion and synths has a nice sheen to the high end? I think emulating that a little would have the song sounding cleaner. I also think that a lot more modulation on the lead would improve things, as compared to the chords and rhythms that it feels slapped on. The lead needs to come alive more and have some personality. There are some articulations Larry mentioned that should be addressed as well No

  9. I've never heard of the Breath of Fire series before, but I really love the tone of the track. This could easily be arranged for a jazz ensemble. Now I'm torn on which one I should mix for a bonus track.

  10. I was never a fan of Dance of Sadness in PoR, even though that game has a great OST. I like this remix more with its glitchy sounds and sort of mysterious vibe. Good job!

  11. Mmm hmm, I certainly do see your point, on the one hand - the builds and drops throughout are inherent to the genre. On the other hand (because I have two hands, see? Haha... ha... bad joke), your builds and drop aren't devoid of music - they're devoid of melody. There's no rule stating that source melodies and themes can't be textures and background elements instead of melodies and themes in an arrangement. You've got arpeggios and such in the background that could as easily be source themes transformed into background elements instead. It sounds great either way, so you don't have to do more to the track, but I do want to point out that putting source into something isn't impossible to get close or past the threshold I'm thinking about. Trickier, due to genre limitations, but not inherently impossible.
