  1. I didn't see anything from Esperado, so Chalis makes 16. Alright, fellas. I'll run the draft sometime this week and we'll get started with the first round this Sunday.

  2. I've made many changes since my first posting:) Version submitted first https://drive.google.com/open?id=1nHURd09pcMxso4k32o9CuwqUvuTeNww- Latest version 11-7-2019, second submission https://drive.google.com/file/d/18Bv8PRVMqUlDu1CxRpIjNQtLMXxhfbq5/view?usp=sharing Latest Latest version 12-24-2019 This is pretty much completely different, it's something I have been working on under a different name for a short while. The original idea of this tune has gone through the grinder a couple of times, and it was gently suggested that perhaps a different tack might help. My VERY first attempt at Epic FootSteps actually incorporated both walkabout themes from Dragon Warrior 2, and this new version is the second walkabout theme, as opposed to the first. I also add that this is obviously not close to completion, I'm looking for some feedback;) I haven't fiddled with EQ/Mastering yet. I also ask that it be listened to with something that uses ASIO for playback. On my pc, for reasons I have not been able to fathom, playback done with any normal media player sounds MARKEDLY different, in EQ and stereo image/spectrum...and I have tried all solutions googled and asked about here on these forums:) This version is not done with LMMS, as the previous version, and I have installed a few different VST's Original Second Walkabout theme Latest version 12-24-2019 https://drive.google.com/file/d/1TMV-pYLpCklO0ZdRx99wiVb8HdT5tAvS/view?usp=sharing

  3. Hey guys, it's been a long time, but here's an atmospheric Final Fantasy mashup of FF4's Prelude and FF6's Terra with dubstep and light glitch elements! This has been submitted to OCR on March 18, 2018. [EDIT: To show the timeline, this just got approved August 31, 2018 for a direct-post, so about 5 months in this case.] This was inspired by Stephen Anderson (stephen-anderson on soundcloud); it primarily uses bell and pad textures from Spectrasonics' Omnisphere 2; a Chapman Stick from Trilian; 4Front's TruePianos; and various FM sounds from my Zebra2 soundbank "FM Variations". Glitching was via Illformed's Glitch 2, and some of the remaining stuff was from LA Scoring Strings, Rhapsody Orchestral Percussion, and Serum. The solo violin was Embertone's Friedlander, highly recommend it!

  5. Hello, ocremix! This September will mark the 15th anniversary of the Dwelling of Duels competition. And since that's pretty old in internet years, we're celebrating it with a special double month duel! For those not familiar with DoD, it's a monthly (or sometimes bi-monthly) VGM cover competition where the emphasis is on live instruments. Over the years, we've received entries covering almost 1200 games, and for this Legacy Month, you have to cover any tune from one of those games. You can find a full list of games here: http://dwellingofduels.net/games/. Other than that, all the standard rules apply: http://dwellingofduels.net/rules/ Deadline for entries is September 29th, 1PM EDT. Even if you don't enter the competition, you are welcome to vote on the entries and join the listening party (exact time and date TBA).

  6. What an interesting approach! I am one who loves vocal clips in songs, as long as they are cohesive and tell a story, and they fit in nicely here. The arrangement is great. Expect some hate for the vocals, but you'll get none from me. The parts are performed wonderfully and the mixing is tight. Love it! YES

  7. Introspective is the right word for this, and it's smooth as hell. The spoken parts are a clever touch that you don't hear very often in an arrangement. The production and performances are pristine, as well, which really gives this a nice, polished feel; it seems pretty much impeccable, as far as I can tell. YES

  8. Ah, I remember listening to this one. Very smooth groove, and clean production. Stephen's clips, pondering as Shovel Knight add a lot of personality to the track (I should know that!). The sax performances were well realized and the track just flows really well, never gets boring. I think the synth lead could've been a little less stiff and had more flair and funk in the performance, but that's a minor complain from me. The arrangement is great as we've come to expect from Jorito, mixing the sources pretty seamlessly. YES

  9. Definitely not something I expected here. Introspective is most certainly the right description here. Love the smooth style, and the instrumentation is just right. Really nice solos and direction overall, and while I'm not personally a fan of narration tracks, I can still see that this fits pretty well as a whole. Great work getting the extra help here, it made a difference to have the guitar solo played live, and the smooth voice of Stephen is mixed well into the track. Great work! YES
