I initially fell in love with the lush visuals and setting, but the music was what drew me in and kept me there. As I prepared to lead this album with months of critical listening and planning, the OST rooted me in a way that few others have. Mitsuda's distinctive combination of singable, recognizable melodies and unique instrumentation made for an unforgettable and endearing soundtrack that transports me to an island paradise, complete with ancient ruins and fantastical creatures. I can't help but be excited for this album's release. Any project usually has a few people that have been around for a while (Jorito, myself, OceansAndrew), but inevitably there's a few newcomers that also knock it out of the park (Ophanin, Earth Kid, Steven Melin). I believe that the overall quality of this album is easily the best that I've ever been involved with, and I hope that this project enables everyone who listens to be able to revisit the world of Chrono Cross yet again, nearly 20 years later. - Brad Burr (prophetik music)

A gorgeous handling and delivery!! I am not the best or most experienced musical aficionado, but even I can hear the quality of the instrumentation and the personal touch on the delivery. Man, this remix never gets boring - different sections, different moods, different points of emphasis, all tied together by what seems to be a very specific goal. I could basically imagine a conductor asking for more or less from different sections as the mood/sound struck him... and by all accounts, that seems to be what's happened here! Major props to the instrumentalists, and to the remix!

cool jello bassline. sounds SoR enough, though i'm missing some of the grit that's typically associated with the streets of rage sound. well, you don't have to make it sound like a mega drive, but something in between would be nice. i'm liking the bubbly lead sound, while the detuned synths sound a bit cookie cutter whenever they get loud. not liking the filter settings there. thinking about it, i think the core quality of the SoR sound is it sounds 'warm', full, even when it's abrasive. that's lacking with some synths here. it's all a bit ravy with the sounds, when it could be more funky, housy, reduced, something. when only the bubbly lead synth plays with bass and basic drums, it's there. once the mix gets full, it's not that pleasant to listen to at loud volumes. it's partly a taste thing. i just don't dig some of those sound choices typically unless they're really expertly crafted.

I think we are allowed to submit remixes of each other sources as an official entry, but other than that the rest is a bonus.

Hopefully someone finds the time to enter, TheVideoGamer, Argle and myself can only enter with a bonus so other people should enter and fight for the win.
