  1. Hey, thanks for the praise. PRC is an older Bro to look up to! Good idea! We could make things easier with a standard Schedule. On some observations of my own habits for MnP scheduling... I usually end the round on the 28th each month. And I vary the voting length from 3-5 days (can make that a fixed thing, easy), so usually spanning to the 2nd or 4th of the following month for Results stage. If you'd like me to alter that, let me know. I'm also open to suggestions. Sure. Keeping it public works. OK. I'll try not to panic until I see an official announcement from you. Here's to hoping we continue to get participation. And thanks a million DJ Mokram.

  2. Welcome to the voting stage The mixing stage is over. This round has 3 songs and 1 Bonus Mix by TheVideoGamer. The following people compete against each other: HoboKa AxLR Dex To vote, do the following: · Visit the stated ThaSauce Page and listen to all the entries. · Scroll to the form at the bottom of the screen or click PM. · Fill in the entries from first to second in the ThaSauce form or fill in your top 3. · State a reasoning for it. · Participants are encouraged to vote and leave feedback. However, they may not vote for themselve, They get a 3 point bonus. · TheVideoGamer has a vote that counts twice. · Always look in this thread to find out who's the winner of the round after the voting stage instead of only looking at ThaSauce for the results. Especially since some people might vote by sending me a PM. You have until THIS Friday, July 24th 10:59 AM ThaSauce time (11:00 UTC, 12:00 GMT) to vote. If you vote by PM make sure that your top 3 is clear. I prefer something like this: (To) (Subject) PRC ### Vote (Message): 1: (remixer A ) 2: (remixer B ) 3: (remixer C ) (reasoning) I will post the feedback given in the PM’s and the votes in this thread. The winner may choose the source tune for PRC413. A good number of songs. The next round (412) will start in a few days. Check the ThaSauce Page to vote or click here to send a PM. I think MnP must continue, it's not destroying PRC or something like that. MnP and PRC are more like brothers. PRC has a long history, but MnP is also doing well for a long time already, I don't want it to disappear. We should consider to have different deadlines to make sure that they aren't in the same week. Putting MnP on hold doesn't lead to more PRC participants and also the other way around also not. Currently I'm not considering to stop PRC, the last rounds did well. For now I just keep it up, at least till the end of the year. As mentioned before, if I intend to stop, I will announce it a couple of months before that really will happen. At least I need to reach the 12.5 year PRC organizer milestone (I started after season 5 so this season (17) is my twelfth). So don't worry about that. I also want this discussion to happen in public, anyone who has ideas to improve the contests is free to share them. DJ Mokram, your effort is really appreciated.

  3. @Dj Mokram. No tomatoes necessary. Situational awareness is never a bad thing. Not all of us follow gaming news at all (or honestly even play games all that often anymore). It's good that you said something and that the project leadership made a point informing everyone so we could each make our own decisions. As for me, I've already expressed my thoughts to Trism at length, but I'll summarize them here. I think albums like this are a gift for fans honoring the childhood memories they have of playing these games. I don't think the actions, alleged or proven, of one person should be allowed to steal the joy that comes with those memories. They may be his compositions, but they mean far more than that to thousands of people. I'm happy to finish my arrangement as a tribute to the fans of Secret if Evermore.

  5. ((...pardon the edits..)) Nice perfect round!! Gonna go vote now. We may keep PRC alive. By the by, maybe I should set up a poll about how to change up MnP and/or perhaps put it on haitus so the compo scene can stay alive a while longer. Reason I'm suggesting this is if MnP is hurting the scene by dividing and perhaps overwhelming potential contestants, then I don't mind bowing out. Just don't want to jump the gun on this, like my usual impulsive self. BTW Bundeslang, if this sort of participation keeps up, do you intend to keep the show going? I don't want to shutter my doors and see PRC do the same. If you don't want to talk about it publicly, you we can do PM or Discord. Voted.

  6. That's what I did understand, but yeah, I do get the misunderstanding here. ^^ Voted ! Nice round, everyone !

  7. I just realized that there's a potential for misunderstanding in my description of my submission. When I said that "I made something totally different from the source melody," I meant that I made a totally different kind of track using the source melody. The source melodies should be prominent and recognizable in my track.

  8. Nice turnout! For what it's worth I also advertised the compo on discord, and if that's cool with @Bundeslang I'll try to keep doing so in the future.

  11. Are there new allegations against Soule? If not, I'm not sure how it's only now come to your attention. The news about Nathalie Lawhead* was back in 2019. * - As far as I know, I'm not related to Nathalie Lawhead. I did email her to ask if she knew any family relationship between us and never got a response.

  12. I'm kinda the aficionado and slow player who tends to enjoy the atmosphere a little longer. So I'm still hanging around at around chapter 4 with my real "exploration save file" where I also listen to all the NPCs and their little stories they tell or at which I try to impress Jessie with my rad motorbike driving 'n' highway fighting skills (I guess it 's also some kind of an achievement) and put Wedge on the second place at the dart mini game... ...but couldn't wait to get a bit more into the further story line with another save file where I have been arrived at Sector 5. And already in this early point of the remake I radically like it how they converted or rather transcended the original masterpiece Final Fantasy 7 into the next generation console gaming experience. Besides the very interesting story telling and whole atmosphere, I really enjoy the new active battle system which is quite always fun, always a little bit different or at times even something like a big challenge. The dynamic battles remind me a lot of playing the Battle Arena Toshinden and Soul Blade or Soul Calibur games in the times back then. At the moment, I only have 2 little points to criticize or things that could be improved. 1) I miss some scenes from the original - for example where Barret gradically goes on fire at the punching bag in the Avalanche hideout and blows Biggs (maybe accidentally) through the air by his anger coming from the Shin-Ra news and Clouds cold behaviour. 2) The summon materia could be so much more than just an isolated 1-star materia. It could be a mix between the original (in which you could grow a summon materia up to 5 stars, before it got divided like most of the other materia, and combine them with all the other materia in the connected slots), the FF 6 esper system (where you could also learn new magic spells from espers) and a new system where also the summons can evolve like the characters (similar like in Final Fantasy 8, with new attacks and abilities or where they could slightly transform like in Lufia 2: Rise of the Sinistrals like the capsule monsters). Maybe something like this is planned in the future parts of the remake - but I really think that the summons should play a much greater part in the battle system and in the whole story. But besides those kinda smaller things that could be improved, I'm radically digging this awesome masterpiece of a remake. ----------------- And, yeah - please try not to spoiler anything important of the remake storyline or something like that. I already clicked on a video that unfortunately spoilered some parts of the ending or maybe parts of the game - and I really don't like that. The original of Final Fantasy 7 back then was a still game I started playing without having a clue of the game - in kinda blessed times without online tutorials, spoilers and walkthroughs coming right after the release of the game - really blessed times, where you really had to play the game to get right into the game, its story and secrets. And - despite all the opportunities of the modern times - I still try to keep it this way. ))

  13. I think its a misstep. Now I like the ideas they have and what they are trying to do to make it different from FF7, especially as you go on. However! The execution of those ideas, well, it is very poor. The voice acting is terrible. A big portion of the dialog seems cliche, and it hurts to listen to, even in Japanese w/subs. There are several scenes that are awkward, characters that act awkward. I really want to like this. I like the idea of seeing Midgar fleshed out. But everything is so hollow. I'm getting serious FFXV vibes from it and Square is going down a road I don't think they can come back from.
