  1. Did this years ago and someone, who i still have no idea who it was, sent me a single pack of guitar strings... However those strings were my first pack of Ernie Ball Cobalt strings which I use exclusively on my ESP now because they are absolutely amazing. So thanks anonymous benefactor because now they are the gift that I keep on giving... to myself. So what the hell i'll sign up again.

  3. Compo: MnP (Meat 'n Potatoes) MIDI: Bowser's Introduction Super Metroid Title Deadline: Oct 28th Wed @ 1PM Vote Ends: October 31st Sat @ 1 PM MnP ARCHIVE - made by Trism submit: https://compo.thasauce.net/rounds/view/MnP118 MISSION STATEMENT The goal of Compo:MnP is to promote that "meat and potatoes" conservative approach to remixing: this includes the mood and composition of source tunes. It is up to the remixer to create their own personalization, or to simply give it a sound upgrade. Moreover, the compo is a great opportunity to hone your remixing skills and give video game music the respect that is due. SOME reinterpretation is recommended, but not required. MnP Instructions/Guidelines Source-Picks are limited to the era of gaming 1984-2006. In other words, Nes/Sega Master to PS2/GC/XBox 1. Going to relax this rule with certain Indie Titles like Shovel Knight, Undertale and possibly Crypt of the Necrodancer. Update me upon further titles that have that 'Retro Fidelity'. Thanks! Modifying the Source is fine, so long as it doesn't sound completely separate from its original intent. Small tempo changes are OK. But not 140 to 80 etc. Submissions must be at a maximum of 20mb (keeping in step with ThaSauce's file size max). Only 1 entry per participant. Previous winner cannot participate but can submit a BONUS entry. MISC/TIPS - When picking a source tune, make sure it has a MIDI to make people's lives easier. - In-game sound FX are permitted, so long as they don't comprise the whole track (i.e. replacing entire MIDI tracks with just sfx)

  5. Jill and I are both big fans of Aeralie's work, particularly on the Ori series, and we've always wanted to collaborate with her... so we did! We've been arranging Final Fantasy 7 for over a decade now (our first remix together was Deliverance of the Heart all the way back in 2007) but it's just such a good soundtrack we keep coming back to it. I wanted to keep the production mostly out of the way here, since with two strong (and complementary) voices there wouldn't be enough room for too much underlying stuff. So it's basically all Omnisphere with some careful mixing to make sure all the background vocal layers and leads could sit properly, along with precisely sculpted reverb... We did consider having more percussion too but I think it would have ultimately taken away from the beauty of the themes themselves. Keeping it atmospheric and melodic seemed like the way to go. Enjoy!

  11. If you voted, you'd have been 1st place too...Depending on who you voted for maybe. Huh...Guess it isn't 100% fail-safe (over9000 edits). But we got 2 entries for Spooktober, so this is a bigger win, when you think about it. See you next Mission.

  12. Same. Did someone coerce folks to vote for me? XD It was a pleasure to hear everyone else's takes on the Face Shrine, though. Halloween songs, eh? (Heads straight to Super Metroid...)

  15. Oh man, this takes me back. The early 90s were, for me, the BBC days. We'd connect via our modems, hogging the parents' phone systems, and explore the beginnings of the online world. The same world that introduced me to tracking, Doom 2 MODs, and more, also introduced me to One Must Fall 2097. For a season I fell in love with the game, and beat it several times. I wouldn't count this track from the game as something terribly original given the chord progression, listening to it now, but dang this holds some nostalgia for me. I dig DigiE's remixes but this one is awesome too; great work!
