There's a metal band called Battleheart that has lyrical content about pirates. I believe 3 Inches of Blood also has some pirate themed songs.

Sounds cool. I'd love to help, though I really no nothing about sprite graphics, however I would certainly love to learn.

Who made the games you're playing?
Guy In Rubber Suit replied to chfuji's topic in General Discussion
No, it's all the other developers under EA's umbrella. EA owns a lot of various game developers or has contracts with them. This article was interesting, but for some reason, I got the impression that Tose is some sort of sinister evil corporation who must be stopped. Whatever, Tose has a very good buisness plan going on and it's particularly common now to have assests outsourced. I know that there are companies out there that specialize in cinematics only, or just concept art. -
I went to the one in Phoenix, or Mesa to be specific and I had a blast. I enjoyed the song choices and loved how they did the classic arcade games, the ones that didn't have music, just sound effects. The only problem was the choir and I don't know if it was because they had two different ones, a local one and one from Salt Lake City there and they weren't able to practice together properly or just plain suck, either way they were a bit of a let down. Another downer was Tommy Tallerico playing guitar in the end. I was expecting shredding, especially on the awesome headless guitar he had. Instead, he just played basic chords and you could barely hear him. Booo. Either way it was fun, great fun. But I do think the Final Fantasy concert I went to a few years ago was much better.

From Master of Puppets it would be Battery, Master of Puppets or Orion. I know Orion would be great for bass playing. Though I'd personally love to see just about anything off of Ride the Lightning, particularly the title track. Though the only problem with Metallica is that they repeat alot of riffs that could get repetitive quick. I know there are some songs like that in the other two GH games and man is it boring sometimes to play those. Such a chore.

How about a GOOD Metallica song? I would like to see the entire Rust in Peace album for GH3. I wonder if they could get any tracks from Guitar Freaks?
-
I know this would never happen, but I'd love to see Vital Remains on there. Some Behemoth would be nice too. Oh and Death.

Is it really video game music?
Guy In Rubber Suit replied to Thin Crust's topic in General Discussion
Don't mind Thin Crust, he's just being his usual idiotic self. -
Guitar Hero 2 for 360 comes out in March
Guy In Rubber Suit replied to Tardigrade's topic in General Discussion
I wonder what are some of the new songs going to be. I hope it's more Megadeth, especially from Rust in Peace. Oh! And some Iron Maiden would be awesome! How about more Pantera and maybe some Nevermore? More metal! -
Isn't that what the Wii is for? And yeah seriously, there needs to be a fix to make links a different color. I almost thought there was nothing there.

Just generic pseudo-goth rock that is completely forgettable.

Not bad, though you need some work on pacing. On the second page, I would've just drawn out one panel of the gun firing, with the shell ejecting and the top part moving, I don't know the mechanics of a gun but just watch one firing and you'll know what I mean. You don't, and really shouldn't show the initial action, just show the aftermath. It makes it more powerful. The final two panels I'd condense down into a long one showing the character standing with the gun lowered and smoking. You achieved the same meaning with less drawing and more effect. Overall it's not too bad. And what are you using for coloring, MS Paint?

Another friend got an Emperor shirt. My parents will be getting a painting I'm doing for them, I showed them a work in progess and they liked it very much thus far. -
So my school got pretty messed up today by a tornado
Guy In Rubber Suit replied to Bigfoot's topic in General Discussion
That's pretty rare to have a tornado during this time. That sucks. -

Wow. I totally didn't know about this project. I would like to join, but I haven't done any actual mixes. I have some demo original recordings if you would like to hear them Orichalcon. I would like the Demon's Dead, however I can understand if you want to pass on an untested remixer.

OCR01385 - Doom "Purgatory"
Guy In Rubber Suit replied to djpretzel's topic in ReMix Reviews & Comments
I like it, though the only problem I have is the synth transisitions between the DOOM songs and the weak ass drum tones. Seriously, if the double bass and snare and everything were beefed up, it would be absolutely killer. Still good stuff though. -
OCR01377 - Chrono Trigger "Atonement"
Guy In Rubber Suit replied to djpretzel's topic in ReMix Reviews & Comments
Yeah, I was wondering why everyone was calling it heavy metal... It's certainly not what came to my mind when I heard it. Because the people who normally listen to the mixes on this site don't listen to metal and think that anything with distorted guitars equals metal. Still awesome though. -

I've always been a fan of Darangen, though I never felt that he could quite compete with the likes of goat, Ailsean, Ashane, House, Virt and such. I mean, yeah he is a great musician, and I loved most of his stuff, just nothing really stand out to me. But here, wow, it just blew me away the first time I heard it. Certainly my favorite among that month's Dwelling of Duels. I can't wait to hear what Darangen has in store next. More Chrono Trigger please! -
Chrono Trigger: Chrono Symphonic - History
Guy In Rubber Suit replied to Claado Shou's topic in Projects
So this CD will be for sale upon completion of the mixes? Or will the MP3s on the site continue to be there after it is released? I've listened to a couple of tracks and I'm liking it so far. -
OCR01317 - Castlevania II "Cursed Bloodline"
Guy In Rubber Suit replied to djpretzel's topic in ReMix Reviews & Comments
You've never listened to early Emperor have you? Their vocals are quietly in the back though still very raspy and shierky. I downloaded this on VGMix and its very killer. Very reminiscint of At the Gates with a trace of Hypocrisy. It's good to see variety on the site. -
Are there any live drummers here who have their own drumsets and decent recording equipment? I'm looking for one for a mix that I'm going to do. I play guitar and the mix is basically gonna be a hard rock version. Proficienty in bass pedal speed would be a definite plus. Or if not that, anyone have access to really good drum samples? That would be fine as well. PM if you're interested.

OCR00595 - F-Zero "Blue Vacation"
Guy In Rubber Suit replied to orkybash's topic in ReMix Reviews & Comments
The relaxing guitars of the intro reminded me of Summers from Earthbound for some unknown reason. Now that certainly isn't a bad thing, no sir. In fact it lends it's way to becoming a personal favorite of mine and Blue Vacation is a favorite. The steel drums fit perfectly and you can instantly reconize that it's Big Blue music for those of you familiar with F-Zero. To take a hard rocking song like that and redo into something that would be at home while vacationing on San Diego's beaches is amazing. Simply brilliant work LousySpy.
