  1. Great start Myth, and good luck to Shael and the rest of the gang who sign up for the project. I'll be greatly anticipating the results!
  2. Actually it was Dark, I was one of the guys doing my jobs. You guys all missed it last night too. After you left, Dark, redchlorine and I played some awesome Warthog Wars. Some great collisions going on there. favorite quote: Dark or redchlorine: "When the shields are low, it's time to GO!"
  3. ....and guess what we didn't play....until you left. Great night everyone. Now I have to stay up all night writing my "50,000 page dissertation" as penance for my Xbox Live revelry.
  4. ANTI-quote of the night. bobthename: come on guys, don't you wanna see some glitches? I guess they were cool....for about 10 seconds.
  5. Actually, I've decided to forgo a few hours of sleep in order to play (Halo will keep me more sane than sleep will, anyways) so I will indeed be on tonight. That, and I may not need to do much after we play anyhow, so see you there.
  6. Ya, another great night on live. I agree that the crucial input on the origins of the name "Alucard" was hilarious, though my favorite was definitely when Wingless proclaimed that we couldn't kill a god EVERY time he became the juggernaut. It reminded me of a boss battle where the enemy spouts off random evil and intimidating phrases. I don't know if I'm going to be on tonight or not. I procrastinated on that English paper I talked about earlier, but depending on how my other work goes I may get a jump on it today and be able to be on for a couple hours.
  7. Hopefully, Ashane has begun the revolution. It is time that DoD takes over OCR, as Darangen stated. I have been a HUGE fan of DoD ever since I first heard the January Metroid contest on VGF, feverishly downloading the new months when they come out. There are so many talented artists there, and its great to see them get onto OCR. Great mix, Ashane, keep up the good work, I look forward to your stuff in DoD.
  8. Sweet. Thanks. Unfortunately, I probably won't be on until Thursday....got a HUGE English paper to do, unless you guys can give me your opinions on T.S. Eliot's The Wasteland while we battle.
  9. Oh, yes, just keep clinging to that ONE game that you prevailed in. Whatever helps you eek out your pathetic little existence. I'll give you that one, as long as you RECOGNIZE. Next time, my master sniping skills WILL best you. Classic. I had a rough night, IMO, so i don't think I remember anything cool happening to me, so good job everyone, we did pretty good consistently all night long, so that was pretty cool. Clan OCR rules!
  10. I concur. Don't worry, I'll stay on Scrubbin' Bubbles' case to make sure she shows up often.
  11. I'M IN! It's pretty cool. Here I am sitting with 45 bucks in my account and now way to put in more (they won't let you deposit cash), and I couldn't find a way to change the billing to monthly. So I'm sitting here, ready to give up, when I see something about free trials in games, so I pop open Halo 2, and sure enough, two months. So, I'm back online, although my account is reset. And, what makes it better, is that I checked the free trial, and it was supposed to expire last month, but they still took it, so that was really cool. Hope to see everyone online. My gamertag is FF6Cyan Ide (I will KILL whoever took Cyan Ide)
  12. GAH! I hate waiting for all this stuff to go through. I want my live NOW! Feel free to sword me as you will.
  13. Hahaha, I hear that, my friend busted my headset along with another friend's headset, both within the first hour of using them.
  14. Currently working on getting some money on my credit card, and as soon as I do, I'll be back online, and you can count me in. I'll get back to you on the gamertag, because if they closed my account, I'm totally changing the name.
  15. Ok, let me preface this entire post by stating that I don't swear. Never did. Don't plan on swearing in the near future. That being said, this remix is excellent. The music in the back is great in and of itself, it's interesting and dynamic. I really enjoyed the panning of the voices, too. And I absolutely LOVED the lyrics. As many have stated before, the chorus is incredibly catchy, and today, while I was doing some art work, I had the chorus stuck on constant loop in my head. After reading both Zyko's own take on the meaning of the lyrics and the lyrics themselves, and the use of the word "nigga," I totally see the companionship qualities of the use of the word within the lyrics and context, and it works. It's really funny/cool to see the incorporations of the game into the lyrics. It is absolutely AMAZING to see this come out of the fun, upbeat NSF file that this music is inspired from. All around great mix. One of my favorites. To everyone complaining about the swearing. It's this simple. This is a review thread. Once again, DJP warned all who come to the download this mix of the lyrics found within the song, and if the use of the profanity in this song bothers you, and you ignored his warnings and listened anyways, then came on to this thread to complain about it, you SHOULDN'T BE HERE. Ubik and Zyko aren't going to learn ANYTHING about making better mixes if your only critisism of this song is about the profanity. Poster: "Zyko: You use the word "nigga" WAY too much." Zyko: "Phew, thanks for that invaluable input, seeing as I was going to base the next thirty mixes I do around the word "nigga," as that's all I care about, you know, offending people with it and stuff." This is a review thread people, not a "I hate this word" thread. If you don't have anything constructive to say, or, in the case you enjoyed the song, as I did, a kudos for the mixers, then just DON'T POST AT ALL. It's called courtesy. Use it.
  16. This has been one of my favorite remixes ever since I heard it on VGFrequency a while back. I'm going to go with Rexy on this one and say, "It's about time, now put some more up, Darangen." By the way, I hope Deadly Promises comes here eventually, too, even though its a Terra mix.....
  17. I once hated this song. Aaaah, me and my naive youth.....one month ago. An OcRemix community member must recognize legend. Long live Music of My Groin.
  18. I never really liked Christmas music. But I have liked OneUpMushrooms, at least from what i've heard on vgf and now with this mix. I now have something to listen to when Christmas rolls around. The most amazing aspect of the song is the surreal dance of the song between this fine line of SMW and Christmas, and such a blurred line, you have to listen several times to truly appreciate the points where they blend. This could be the overworld theme to a secret SMW level, and Santa is the boss! Great live work, stuff I wish my lazy h.s. jazz band were able to come close to playing. Great mix!
  19. [/clap] congratulations. With this single, considerably short post, you've managed to insult, as far as I can tell, every member of this community. GREAT job! Anyway, on to the more important matter at hand, PriZm did a great job of taking one of the most memorable themes in gaming (I mean, come on, when the game pounds the same couple bars into your head several times over 8 levels, how can you NOT remember it) and built it up from the small repeating song, as many have said, into this complex masterpiece. Just the amount of imagination that had to go into this piece using the original material is insane. I love the guitar that comes in at around 3:25. Now that we have a Bowser rock theme, Nintendo just needs to make a cool, evil, gritty Bowser to go along with it. Great mix, keep 'em coming.
  20. Wow. Great Song, very ethereal. Almost as if you stumbled upon a cave full of faeries, but instead of just floating around above a pool of water nonsensically like they always do, they're worshipping the three goddesses. I didn't really have a problem with the "oo-eh's," especially when you listen to the original track, it was very well in keeping to the original, which is one of my favorite tracks. Very nice, something i could fall asleep to....but in a very, VERY good way. Keep 'em coming.
  21. Bah. I listened to it again and found the electronic alot more interesting and dynamic the more I listen to it.
  22. Don't EVER play this mix after listening to some cool song with the volume way up before. The strange noises from the not-so-music-files kind of hurt. XD However, being that those strange sounds were intentional, one must give due credit to Mazedude for somehow managing to mix them into a song that works. While I won't be jamming to it on my mp3 player, the mix certainly IS interesting.
  23. This piece had a very strong and pronounced beat. I dissliked the strange, helicoter noise that a previous poster had mentioned, it distracted from the rest of the song. Overall the song kind of felt as if it was missing something. However, what was there was all very cool, and it is also cool having the origninal mixer remix his own sound.
  24. OH GOD NO! THANKS ALOT DJP. The beginning of this song brought forth a torrent of all the HORRIBLE 80's styles and cliches, primarily the Robot. Great stuff, very nostalgic, very good capture of the 80's feel. I really enjoyed the section at 2:10. Very interesting. The sheer variety of sounds used makes the entire piece something different with each passing second. A very strange and interesting take on the veldt theme. P.S. Great interview and congrats on 5 years DJP.
  25. The Nightmare Before Christmas music is soo fitting for Kefka. It really fits his personality. Great job, Zircon, for mixing them together. It really has that Nightmare Before Christmas feel. Very over the top, as usual for Zircon tracks, but excellent. I had previously had this song from Zircon's website, and am really happy to see it make its debut on OCR. Now all thats needed is some Kefka walking around in that crazy animation style laughing like he does best
