  1. Love it! Great idea for a mix.
  2. Nah mang, just keep at it. Making mixes for OCR is pretty hard.
  3. Co-signed on Elder Kirby's comments. Also, I'm having a little trouble picking out the source. I would like to hear the ubiquitous sine melody in a less modified form. After getting to the end of the song and not hearing it I kinda felt unfulfilled, you know? For me the gold standard arrangement of this track is by Zircon and C-GPO. Listen to how they expand on the theme while still keeping it very recognizable.
  4. Nevermind I guess, read the doc and Metroid is on it. Shame Zelda has been taken, I have a Mabe village mix in production that's almost done.
  5. What's the status of this project? I don't see timaeus' track listed in the OP. You still looking for tracks? I'd be interesting in doing Metroid 2. That is a series that requires representation.
  6. I'd quite like to do a track for this, but I dunno, I just have too many WIPs as it is.
  7. Oh, good, glad I'm not the only one who gets his name wrong. Happy b-day.
  8. I feel quite the fool for axing this, but how does one get these SNES sample packs?
  9. Honestly, reading the judges crits makes it seem like conservative arrangement is the only thing holding you back. So just set a goal for yourself to change up the arrangement in a timely fashion, resub, bada bing.
  10. You should be able to freely sell physical product you own. I would argue you don't really own any steam games, yer renting them.
  11. I tried that LMMS program and eww it looks hideous, like all things of Linux origin (not sure why). That said, my opinion should be of little consideration to you if you like it. The general consensus is that Linux is not very good for music production, though. Thankfully nearly all DAWs offer a free demo with minimal hassle, so try em out and see which one clicks with you. It really comes down to workflow, and no one can predict which DAW you'll like the best.
  12. All I'm going to say is, if you worked on a track constantly for 6 months and still didn't make it different enough from the source, you need to pick up the pace.
  13. Do I recognize that guitar from Omnisphere? I think the song might benefit from a bass guitar groove. You've got that bass synth drone but it's not really workin for me. Nice work overall, I like the mellow vibe you got.
  14. The corporate greed that has infected video games stinks, it stinks real bad. I guess the big game companies weren't content with shitting all over PC gamers with draconian DRM, now they're going to wage a war on console gamers. I hope this is only a rumor and my sense of outrage is misplaced.
  15. It's too late. Suicide is the only option now.
  16. You make a very good point.
  17. There have been remix albums for the SNES Donkey Kongs, and the DK64 album is underway. But what about the humble Game Boy version? There are some great 8-bit melodies there. I think there are 20 tracks or less, so it could be a fairly concise affair. Just wondering if people are interested, or am I a loon? Or both? Ze tracks:
  18. Welp, it might make sense to limit yerself to one game, then you'd have a fighting chance. Otherwise it's like saying, "let's do a Final Fantasy remix album." Which one??
  19. Not sure there needs to be a specific theme, unless you can think of one. You just need figure out which of the one or two hundred tracks you want to put on the album.
  20. Something I noticed, the extended glitch out session at 3:15 doesn't really reference the source other than the chords. It'd be nice to have the melody in the background, whilst keeping the attention on the twiddly bits.
  21. Was great to see Zealous Entropy live. That was one of the first VG arrangements that blew my mind and got me into the remixing scene.
  22. I like your style. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be any emote here to convey absolute deadpan sarcasm.
  23. You didn't add the DK64 project, you scurrilous knave.
  24. Hey cool, thanks man. BadAss is, well, badass! If you want this for vol 3 let me know.
  25. I must say, the free roaming aspect appeals to me. I always thought it was ridiculous that you have this mutant with superhuman agility who gets stuck behind fences and rocks.
