Games are my escape from this life. They let me become a character in a situation that I can resolve, or even for the fun of it go out and smash face and not have to worry about law enforcement. Games are the way I can express myself and my feelings, without having to risk injuring anyone. It lets me blow off steam when I'm upset. It helps me rock out when I want to rebel. It takes me places that I've never dreamed of. That's what makes games fun for me. And they always will be fun for me.

We'll see how everything pans out with this. Honestly, this is my first effort at a remix in about four years. Still, this is going much better than before. I'll take it to heart to work on transposing these into their proper keys. right now I'm just trying to get my ideas down, and then work on how it's going to sound. Still, I really do need the advice. And don't worry, I'm not going to drop the bombs on you guys for critiquing my mix. If I was, I wouldn't have made the post to begin with.

Well, first, I'm surprised this hasn't been moved. Second, I'd suggest either buying a new computer outright, or building a completely new system. I realize you want cheap performance upgrades, but if you're looking to run high end graphic games, you're going to need a lot more than a few cheap parts.

I think we're going to see more of this as it grows. What is really rather ironic is that they didn't invite Jack Thompson onto the news cast. That would've been the most hilarious news cast ever.

I added another WIP. I borrowed some elements from the Brinstar 2 theme, rearranged some things, removed one of the melodies. Touched up the dynamics a bit, but I need to program better drum patterns. Otherwise, it's a bit longer, but not by much.

I've been playing around with this for the last few days, I'm trying to come up with something solid, but I'm having trouble. I figured I'd at least put this out there for others to hear. http://www.williammichael.net/music/randomness/metroid_mix.mp3 <--- first WIP - this was pretty basic, just messing around at first, was going to do this one for a Flikomp http://www.williammichael.net/music/randomness/metroid_mix2.mp3 <--- second WIP - i got serious, and started adding things here, not satisfied in the least http://www.williammichael.net/music/randomness/metroid_mix3.mp3 <--- third WIP - went back, rearranged the playlist in FL Studio. gave it a more natural progression of sorts, not done with it, but I'm pretty sure it's going to come together cohesively at this point http://www.williammichael.net/music/randomness/metroid_mix4.mp3 <--- fourth WIP - went back again, added some elements from the Brinstar 2 theme, played a bit with some dynamics, I need to polish the drums a bit, and change them completely from their loopy selves I could use some feedback, as well as ideas.

Yeah, don't remind us about Fridays. Or have you forgotten already Tauce?

Wow. Well, hopefully it's not foul play. Though they mentioned some pills near him when they found him, according to an article I just read. Truly sad.

Medic simulator trains videogamer to ruthlessly save lives.
Dyne replied to Trygon's topic in General Discussion
This is the stuff Jack Thompson should read. And then promptly shut his bloody mouth about violence in games. I wish there were more stories like this in the media. -
Well, I'm certainly glad to see I made it into the video.

Guess that means I either don't go, or...I make the acception. I'm going to look at the calender, and see what the deal is. Also, I wasn't trying to come off sounding like a jerk or anything.

Hey, I'm just trying to do my part. ... Oh snap...I'm propagating again, aren't I?

Wow...this thread is STILL ALIVE? I'm making a note here. HUGE fail.

It is my hope that they do not hold M7 a day after New Year's 09. Sorry, but I, and a lot of others so far, seem to agree that it's a bad idea. Truthfully, if it were the week, or two weeks after, or better yet, at the end of January after everyone has had at least a little chance for regaining their money spent on christmas, I think it would work out a lot better. But that's an opinion. I loved going to MAGFest for the first time, and I really want to go next year, but I won't if it's right after New Year's.

Well, originally, I was MajinVejita2057. But, that name SUCKED. And people were annoyed because it was a blatant DBZ reference (over 9000 n' all). Anyway, I went looking around, couldn't really figure out anything, and then I remember playing through Final Fantasy VII (the only RPG to date that I have never gotten bored with, and have beaten it more than once). There's an obscure character by the name of Dyne, who lives beneath the Gold Saucer in the Sandy Badlands. If anyone knows anything about this character, it's that he was once Barrett's best friend, and is the father of Marlene. He also threw himself off a cliff after being beaten by Barrett in the game, and had a gun arm just like Barrett's. And that's how I got my handle. It's not only my forum handle, but also my remixer and artist name. At least, whenever it is that I release a remix or an album anyways.

I forgot it was on too. Oh well... reruns.

I just want to find out what happened to Zack after they got to Nibelheim before the start of Final Fantasy VII.

I didn't see this anywhere else, so if there is a thread, feel free to baleet this one. Anyway, I was running a search for Final Fantasy VI, and stumbled upon a pre-release date on GameStop's web site for Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core. I figured I'd write a quick thread to see if anyone else has heard anything, and to kinda share my joy (now I need a PSP damn it). Anyway, information from GameStop can be found here: GameStop Preorder for FF7: Crisis Core In case that doesn't work, copypasta this: http://www.gamestop.com/product.asp?product%5Fid=191285 Also, please note that some of the reviewers on the site are a bit...well...on crack.

I've seen it. The film itself was quite truly amazing. The fact that Johnny Depp, Alan Rickman and Helena Bonham-Carter can sing as well as they do also enhances it. I have the soundtrack on my iPod, and I love it. My favorites though are "My Friends" and "Epiphany".

I don't care what anyone else says, I went to M6 because of OCR. I wouldn't have even KNOWN about MAGFest had it been for OCR.
-
I've met new people I would NEVER EVER have met if I wasn't part of the community here. I've gone places, seen things, and generally enjoyed myself more than I would have I hadn't joined OCR. I could also say I owe OCR for the boost in my confidence (especially because of certain people, thank you guys).

They should be ashamed of themselves for not interviewing Larry yet. I mean, c'mon......he's liek, a JDG. Ya know?
