Okay, since Reason 4 is here. Let's make an official OCR Reason Users ReFill! Make some thor patches, collect your coolest hand-made sub/mal patches. Throw in some combis for good measure and release this onto the community! If nothing else it's fun to see what other OCRemixers make when they creater their own patches or variations of Factory Soundbank patches. If you like this idea, please do start creating. In the meantime I set up some rules. These are still for debate so please mention if something sounds bad or if something should be added. RULES: •All patches must be 100% your own (exceptions: Tweaked factory soundbank patches, then you have to name it in this fashion "[name of original patch] TWK". These "Tweas" has to be substantial changes if we're including it in the ReFill. So no "just added some reverb" or "changed an oscillator octave") •All patches submitted will be put in folders by creators. •If a creator submits multiple patches he/she can choose if he/she would like a sub-folders in his folder. •Anyone on the forums can submit a patch •Any version of Reason accepted •Refill will be Reason 4 only (since it will contain Thor patches I think there is no way to use it in R3) •The Refill will be avaliable to everyone •There is no deadline at the moment, but I might set one if we ever want to release this. (more rules to come.. maybe) SO! Start brainstorming, creating and commenting. This oughta be a lot of fun.

Knives, I'm pretty sure Reason puts the graphics at one core and the rest on the other, so no true multi-core. Still better than nothing

Got Reason 4 yesterday I love Thor. And the Jeremy Ellis-demo. I NEED TO STOP GOING TO SCHOOL AND START STAYING AT HOME WITH REASON 4.

tweek, there is a right-click option called "look surface to device" or something like that. Try that. I know it's something with right click.. can't check right now, I'm in school but something with right click

I agree. But in the same way there is no right way to make music in general. There are no rules. Still I find it very interesting to know how other remixers work. It's like music theory to me. I do not do everything according to the rules stated in classical music theory, but I learn a lot from seeing how others did. Aspiring remixers might learn something or not. The point is not learning HOW to remix, but getting some tips on how others are doing it. I'm kinda repeating myself O.o anyway, that's what I think. it's not HOW to remix, it's how OTHERS remix.

Yes. YES. YES, OVERRIDE! Also, a panel on remixing in general with some guys of OCR fame would be cool. I'd be glad to show how easy you can get started with Reason and some arrangement tips I use.

What knives said. NN-XT is ze zupreme maztah of triggering sounds. just remember to set the sample so it plays through the entire thing. With NN-XT (and I love this to death) it only plays the sample while you hold in the button (I know you can change it, but I've never wanted to) and with redrum it triggers and plays the entire file.

Laptop. Maybe padKontrol too. This is pretty darn syncable via wireless network and/or USB/midi. I might also bring fun little instruments such as jew harp, melodica and a shaker!

lfo controlled vibrato is good if you don't use it TOO much. otherwise layering different string sounds (like first a strong attack fading into a quieter string). It's hard. Get a cooler sample library
