  1. I didn't notice Schala in there until the second time through. Nice meld of melodies. Love the basswork. Great song!
  2. I thought Brushfire did a good job on his first episode, and I'm looking forward to more. It will be a lot better with co-hosts, so things can only go up. I definatley like the soundbites from remixers: "This is _____ and you're listening to VGDJ" You should try to get tons of mixers to do that. Also, Brushfire, did you get my reply?
  3. The girl on the far right looks like she has absolutely no idea what she is doing. And she looks frightened. Wonderful pictures though. You're dress is perfect for you!
  4. That was one of the lines I was most proud of writing. Science FTW. Glad you overall liked the album!
  5. I'd love to hear this live. VHD creates such fantastic arrangements that have such a range of moods and dynamics. This piece stood out to me during my first listen through of the album. For some odd reason there's a part that reminds me of the musical version of The Lion King. The intimate feel just reminds me of one part during "Can You Feel the Love Tonight". What's awesome is that there is such intimacy after a march feel, a triumphant feel, and everything in between. Awesome work, really.
  6. Plenty of energy, and due to comments I can't get the "Megaman" feeling out of my head. Nice work, Tensei!
  7. The emotion of the playing is what does it for me. Fantastic piece, and wonderfully played. Nice job!
  8. The collective hearts of the entire community just melted into a puddle of 'awwwwwww'
  9. He's probably actually talking about goblins; they're the weakest monsters in the game. EDIT: Crap, was I beaten out?
  10. Congratulations! You're dress is so pretty, Jill!
  11. Meh, close enough. Not like he's gonna feel the difference between now and tomorrow. Happy birthday!!!
  12. I guess I misread your post, but you originally stated that you were dissapointed that we as an album added our own interpretation to many of the songs. I took that as you not liking that they were arranged. If you could, could you explain what you were hoping for? Honestly I am confused. You seem to have clarified now that the mixes didn't work for you, and that's fine, but your original statement, to me at least, was misleading. You took the time to register for the site and leave a comment, and then say that you don't have time to elaborate. I know I would appreciate in the future if you were to wait until you did have the time to elaborate before making a scathing post. First, it allows you to absorb the album a little more, secondly, if gives you more time to formulate your thoughts and provide the elaborations that we'd like to hear. Saying you don't like the album is fine, but it would be ten times better to backup your reasoning, and it would provide us the opportunity to improve based on yours (and other) opinions. My quote from the site was to explain to you why it(OCReMix) was called as it was. You ask if it's an argument or a piece of information: It's both. Thing is, if you'd done your research before posting, you would have figured out that the site is an arrangement site, not a 'remix' site as you originally were thinking. Check out the 'About' or even listen to some of the posted songs (not part of the project). It wouldn't take you long to have gathered that it wasn't just a cover site. As for the information part, you said something along the lines of "Why is it called a remix?", so I showed you. Kinda stated this as before, but I honestly thought that's what you were hoping for. However, there is a point to be made that many people who have downloaded this album might not know a lick about "OCReMix" and therefore don't understand the community. While this doesn't excuse them from taking the time to figure it out and get informed, I can now see where a lot of these comments are coming from in terms of "It doesn't sound like blah blah blah." This is the sort of "int3rn3t dr4mu" I'm going to avoid, no comment about this one.
  13. Taken directly from the site's FAQ In reality, OCReMix is an arrangement community. The term "ReMix" has been coined by the site. Also, the full name for the album is Final Fantasy IV Arrange: Echoes of Betrayal, Light of Redemption. It is stated that it was an arrangement album from the beginning.
  14. This is one of the tracks that sticks out to me. The vocals draw you in so easily, and Hy's track is just great. Love to hear more from these two working together again!
  15. I stand by my opinion that this is the best track on the album. OA did such an amazing job not only adding to the source, but keeping the original in mind AND bringing elements to the game into the mix. The choir is fantastic and really adds wonderful depth and emotion to the piece. Nutritious really helped make this song stand out especially through his use of brass. The opening, and the hits you hear later on really flesh out and add to the overall. Congratulations to OA, Nutritious, and of course to the Fabul Men's Choir for this fantastic piece!
  16. I have little problem with the rest of your post, but this bothers me in the fact that the entire site is dedicatd to "remixing" (as you put it). If you went to a VG cover site and heard an album like this, then yes, I could understand why you would complain, but on OCReMix what were you expecting to hear aside from 'remixed' songs?
  17. She is specifically the whistling you can hear in the intro. Specially recruited for that crucial part.
  18. Larry only is part of the intro. Also, for some extra information, MomAvenger is also in Rhymes With Elixer!!! No one will ever guess where, though.
  19. You're not a dragon yet. Also, on a similar note....OA refused. On a REAL topic related note, hanging out in the chatroom for the live radio stream internet show promoting EOBLOF was fun!
