  1. OA hit it on the head with the piano. It sounds like each note is being hit as hard as it can, without any feel to it. More humanization would have really added a good vibe to this. Nice work on the chords, and the solos are all nice. Sax sounds alright for the most part, though a bit too fake on some of the faster runs and higher notes. Not my favorite SOM mix, but something I still listen to occasionally. Shame there are so few reviews.
  2. This one really made me think. I don't know if I'll listen to this piece the same again. Haha. Nice chill mix. The snare bugs me, especially when it's all alone in the beginning. It's over a bottomless pit or something. Just too big for my tastes. Aside from that, I have no problems with this mix.
  3. I like the downward line you hear a few times (1:15 is the first time). Not the first place I've heard it, but it works nicely here. Overall, a cute mix. Nothing that sticks out, but worth keeping.
  4. Nothing really stands out for this. Overall it seems a bit quiet. Nice laid-back feeling. I was convinced this was a FF mix at first, kinda weird to have the Prelude arpeggio at first. Nothing particularly wrong with it, but just not a real attention getter.
  5. I'm a fan of this. Definatley what I will consider one of Shna's better mixes, although in their own right they're all good. I'm finding that the transitions might be a little too sudden sometimes for my taste, but that helps make it unique, and a bit more his style, perhaps. Nice work.
  6. Not something that I could listen to twice, but for what it is it's very well done. Definately interesting.
  7. Holy Disney Pop Ballad. Like, really. Whew. Really cute piece. Overly sappy, but not really in a bad way. A little too fake sounding for my tastes, but again, in it's own way they fit the style. Nice work.
  8. AnSo, simply, you are awesome. Haven't played more than 10 minutes of the game, but I'm loving this mix.
  9. Not the most interesting mix around, but it suits the game perfectly. I could swap this with the source with ease. Great enhancement on the original. Really relaxed, I want to lie in a hammock on the beach and nap the day away.
  10. I don't remember this source from the game much(been a while), but from what I do remember this is a nice style adaption. Definately gives a new feel to the original. I like that it still retains the sad feeling, yet is..well..dance. Well done.
  11. The song creates a good atmosphere, though that's about all it does. From the sounds of it, that's the fault of the source, so lack of melody/direction probably stems from that. Reguardless, I liked this one, and will eventually play the game, someday...
  12. I can't say I'm a fan of the mix overall, but I can see that a lot was done to make an apparent 20 second source into this. The intro is indeed too long, in my opinion. The voice doesn't do it for me, either. I never liked narrated pieces (usually) anyways. Just not doing it for me, sorry.
  13. For the first 3 seconds or so I swore that this was a "Land Unknown" mix from FF5. The theme is exact for that time. This is pretty crazy. There's almost too much going on at once here. The stops are ubrupt, but been covered by Wingless, so while not alright, understandable. Overall, there's a ton of potential in this, and it would be cool if Wingless redid this someday.
  14. Very dark, love the atmosphere of this. The guitar arpeggio sets up a solid base for the track, and everything added to it really brings out the feel of ths piece. Right near the end it almost sounds like bowed cymbals (which is a really creepy sound if you haven't heard it). Nice work.
  15. Taking into consideration the dance-ness of this, the long into is alright. Obviously as a 'sit down and listen' it's a bit long at 2 minutes before we get into something melodic, but that's the nature of the beast. When we get into melody things pick up, although it remains repetitive (again, due to the nature of the track). Overall, it does what it's meant to, and there's nothing to fault for it. Just kind of hard to judge from a 'sit in my room and chill' stand point.
  16. Overall, an eh from me. Had some moments that were interesting, but overall just couldn't hold my attention. Sorry.
  17. There is a lot more going on in this mix than seems apparent. Nice textures throughout, very typical and welcome of Wingless. Would really like to hear a live guitar on this, it would be really great then.
  18. Wow, this is really good for so few reviews. Great work going on, instrument choices are great. Wonderful atmosphere. Good job to DJP.
  19. Overall it felt quiet. I know the source vaguely, and it feels very similar to what I remember. I don't know how much variation was going on, but it seems that there isn't much. Overall I can't grasp too much that interests me any more than the source would. Sorry.
  20. Sax is a little too on top, as everyone's stated. Aside from that, an impressive first mix, Nutritious. My favorite part is the darker theme that comes in somewhere near the middle. Like that transition to the rest of the mix.Congrats, and I can't wait to hear you improve (awesome to more awesome).
  21. The song works pretty well in trance, and FFmusic DJ brings out the best in it. Nice work, as per his usual.
  22. Good piece, and some good arrangement, but it has it's quirks, and shows it's age. Samples aren't the best quality, and it was distracting to me. Not the worst quality either, but they could use an upgrade. The piano grates on me. Overall, I would love to hear more variation on the source. There's some work in the background, but the melody really needs some work. Some more original stuff would be cool, too. Still an enjoyable listen, but I'd love to hear it upgraded with better sounds and some more arrangement.
  23. I personally like the track, and think it's good. From what the other reviews are saying, this is a pretty good trance track as it is, and I'm inclined to agree with that (having not much experiance in the area). GLL does some good work with the theme, which remains recognizable, but set in a totally new style that is a far cry from what it originally is. Nice work here.
  24. I think the transisitons from styles/sections/themes are all excellent. Great work there. I like the orchestral work with these themes in general, they work well in this context, and again VHD did a good job with them. Unlike what seems everyone else, I think the mix is just as long as it needs to be. I feel like I went through a complete piece, not feeling like it was unfinished, or overdone. I think the shift of styles really helped in that aspect. Simalarly, I think the samples are pretty decent. Not the best around, but I had no issue listening to them.
  25. Pretty good first mix from Trenthian. I liked each individual theme as it was, though I feel that put together it's a bit disjointed overall. I understand the story aspect, and that helps, though it's still a far jump from the first theme to the last. FX don't really bother me, though I don't feel like they're really needed either. Just superfluous. I'm not really complaining about them, either, so it's all good. Overall, nice work.
