  1. I'd say if you haven't played it on the 360 already, definitely grab this one as it seems to be the definitive version. Although as appealing as it might seem to play as Ayane, Momiji and Sarah what with all the movesets and weapons that Ryu has in NG2 already, I can't help but think that they're just pallet swaps and I'm too old to be swayed by T&A in games anymore... Still, grab if you've never played NG2.
  2. I don't think there's anything wrong with the sound engineering in FFVII to be honest, but I did notice a difference in sound quality when they hit FFVIII although I could easily be wrong.
  3. Let's hope it's not as bad as the actual web browser.
  4. Could we suggest that you not go to Otakon instead?
  5. Ok added. Let's play some BB later people!
  6. I want in on this shit, people!
  7. Final Fantasy VII is damned hard for me to go through now. I think it's a combination of me having played it so many times 10 years ago, the excessively boring materia system(Crisis Core got it right IMO) and the graphics. Honestly, I think most of the success of FFVII has to do with it having been at the right place at the right time more than anything else. Also Donkey Kong 64, Goldeneye, Quest 64, Final Fantasy I-III, Wario Land 2, Megaman.EXE 1, and Bubsy. Soul Blazer and Illusion of Gaia are still somewhat OK... ish...
  8. Look guys, these are the people who cancelled Megas XLR. These are the people who destroyed Toonami and replaced it with a flipper baby of an afternoon block. These are the same people that let shows like Tim an Eric run loose and kill off quality programming. Why any of you have been caring about this network for the past 3 years or so is beyond me.
  9. I do too. Let's cry together. No but seriously, just hit the training mode and familiarize yourself with the systems in the game and what your character of choice can do, then you'll eventually get better. I'm actually pretty decent with Noel now. I might give Tao, Bang, and Litchi a shot eventually.
  10. Wait... People actually use Arakune? Also, I'd love to see a flow chart for Hakumen, which is becoming the Sagat of BB.
  11. Yeah, I love being zoned by a non-stop barrage of swords from V-13. It's like fighting game designers are right there with me on this. No seriously, Seth and Alpha-152 aren't this damned bad. Maybe Rugal, but I hate King of Fighters anyway. This is beyond retarded.
  12. Game design needs a group like CLAMP.
  13. Darn those girls what with their make up and estrogen... But seriously, I agree with the Coop. Of course I've fortunately been able to hang out with a lot of girls who like games throughout my years, but lately I've seen even more who are just totally out of it.
  14. Yeah, everyone gets the LE for the first prints of the game. They'll discontinue them some time down the road, but for now it's all good. As for PS3/360 differences... Well, there's the fact that a certain console which shall remained anonymous has a shitty D-Pad(sucks for me since I'm playing on said console ). I've been playing online with Noel for a few matches getting the hang of her and the systems, and it can get pretty crazy from what I've played. As for being beginner friendly, well I'm not a newbie to fighters, but I'm far from pro(I don't even know what 3/4ths of the terminology means), and I think it's relatively friendly for a fighter, but I'll say the same thing for this as I did for Street Fighter IV: It's beginner friendly for a fighter. If you've never touched a game in your life, you probably shouldn't start with this game.
  15. Grabbed my 360 version yesterday. I've gotta say that after playing it some on my 720p set, I can say with absolute certainty that this game is beyond gorgeous, but unfortunately for me as much as I loved Guilty Gear, the combo system as well as others are tough for me to get used to. I think it has a lot to do with what I interpret to be sort of a "build your own combos" system, but I could also just suck. At any rate, I do love the game and will definitely be spending time with it. It's interesting that you actually have to unlock the ability to use Astral Finishes with all the characters save 2 or 3.
  16. Well if you're wanting for fighters, Blazblue just came out today(didn't have it when I went in earlier today, but gonna pick up my 360 copy later today). IGN gave it a 9.4. A bloody 9.4. Have you ever seen a game get a 9.4? Ok fine it's probably happened before but I wasn't paying attention. If you're a fighting game fan and loved Guilty Gear at all, there is no question. You WILL pick this game up. Also the first prints of the game on both systems is a limited edition that has a 44-track soundtrack and a DVD full of extras and character strategies. Best part is that you're not paying the "standard" limited edition premium. Go buy and be happy.
  17. Saw this on 1up earlier today and thought "there must be something about it on OCR." Anyway, I like it. Even though I'm not particularly passionate about becoming a game designer, I do find myself thinking more and more like one, and I think this is an important issue, and I side strongly with the idea of "let's make games for people." I especially believe that women can bring some very different and interesting perspectives into the business as well. There are plenty of great female composers and artists in videogaming like Ayame Kojima, Michiru Yamane, Yuki Kajiura, and Yoko Shimomura to name a few, so it's not like there's a lack of talent there.
  18. Look, the point is this: Fuck all you haters. Michael Jackson inspired generations, and he WILL be missed. It's like the end of an era. And I was one of those kids moonwalking on the playground when I was 7.
  19. Who can resist Bollywood?
  20. I'm more concerned that a minister had a loaded hand gun lying around.
  21. I'm pretty sure that's just the defense used to give him the more lenient sentence. At any rate, this will surely make for great anti-videogame legislation ammo.
  22. Recommendations time! I'll be going through the different genres here instead of one comprehensive list so you know the games that you'll want to play. Action/FPS: Halo 3 Halo Wars Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Bionic Commando FEAR 2 Lost Planet Dead Rising Resident Evil 5 Gears of War 1 & 2 GTAIV Left 4 Dead The Orange Box Ninja Gaiden 2 Devil May Cry 4 Ace Combat 6 Project Sylpheed RPG: Eternal Sonata Mass Effect Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Fallout 3 Lost Odyssey Infinite Undiscovery Tales of Vesperia The Last Remnant Fighters: Dead or Alive 4 Soul Calibur IV Super Street Fighter 2 HD Remix Street Fighter IV BlazBlue(out at the end of this month) Live Arcade: Braid Mega Man 9 Bionic Commando Rearmed The Secret of Monkey Island Special Edition(out by July) Castlevania: Symphony of The Night Super Puzzle Fighter 2 HD Remix Music/other: Guitar Hero World Tour Guitar Hero 2 Rockband(either one is fine) Beautiful katamari
  23. Yeah I'm not seeing a link for it either, although even though I really want to be in the beta I don't have a PS3 and I doubt my lappy(as good a soldier as he is) could handle running FFXIV. Until we get that 360 confirmation, looks like I'll be sitting this party out.
  24. I think that's a good explanation of things. It's also possible that Gabriel isn't even related to the Belmonts in any way. Lords of Shadow could also mean that there are more than one vampire at work(if any) behind the scenes. I sure would love it if they gave us some more information.
  25. The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening and Oracle of Seasons/Ages are the games I can play over and over.
