  1. I thought actually hearing it was pretty awkward, although I'm interested in seeing how they pan out the story(which has been something I've been wanting in a Metroid game for a long time), and Team Ninja is quality enough. I still don't feel that great about it though.
  2. Well we already got Metroidvania, might as well get Metroid Gaiden.
  3. I can't lie. The kid disturbed me. Otherwise, it looks like Nintendo won't be having the monopoly on waggle anymore.
  4. I honestly wasn't expecting this at all, and it seems a bit strange that they'd bring out a L4D2 out so soon. There go the hopes for Episode 3.
  5. After watching it all, I can safely say that Microsoft not only did waves better than last year(which wasn't THAT bad), but they've also positioned themselves to dominate the rest of this year. They managed to showcase stuff coming out soon while keeping an eye out on the future. Good show, Don. Also MGS5 on the 360. I wouldn't be surprised if we got an "enhanced" port of MGS4 in the near future. I can't wait to see how Sony and Nintendo are gonna perform tomorrow.
  6. Well it'll be starting in a few minutes, so let's see what they've finally got up their sleeves. Excitement abounds. Anyway this should be a specific thread, so it shouldn't be taken down. Let's hear what everyone who saw it thinks about it, etc. See you next hour!
  7. If I were you, I'd just read up a FAQ on the plot of Metal Gear, Metal Gear 2, and Metal Gear Solid 2. You should definitely play through the PSX version of Metal Gear Solid, as even though Twin Snakes was visually impressive, it pretty much killed the feel of the original with too much over-the-top wire fu, bullet time, and lame techno. Metal Gear Solid 3 is a definite recommendation from me as it took the great visuals of MGS2 but didn't overwhelm itself with way too many cutscenes and repetitive environments. I haven't played MGS4: Guns of The Patriots yet, but everyone says it's beyond amazing, however I keep hearing about an hour and a half long end cutscene which sounds pretty bad to me. I never played the PSP games so I can't comment. Try 'em if you're feeling bold I guess. An honorable mention would be Metal Gear Solid: Ghost Babel(just Metal Gear Solid in the U.S.) for the Gameboy Color. I never got that far, but for a Gameboy game it felt like a competent portable 8-Bit MGS. I don't think it fits into the actual MGS storyline anywhere though.
  8. The plot isn't THAT hard to follow, at least timeline-wise. Patriots are formed sometime during the early 20th century(or maybe before that, I forget). The Boss and her Cobra Team help the allies(specifically the U.S.) dominate the second World War. Jack(Big Boss) is born around the 30's, and shortly after WWII, begins training under The Boss. EVA is born in China and is raised and trained to be an agent of the communist government of said country. ADAM(Revolver ocelot) is born somewhere in the U.S and later joins some kind of special forces unit under command of the President. The Events of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater begin. The Boss "defects" to the soviet union after The Virtuous Mission goes sour. Some time passes Operation "Snake Eater" begins, Snake meets EVA who is disguised as a U.S. sleeper agent, and runs into Ocelot, all the while unaware that he is working as ADAM under orders of the U.S. President. The Boss' true role is revealed as the events of Snake Eater end. Snake is now "Big Boss" *Shit happens in Portable Ops*(didn't play it) The "L'enfant Terible" project begins, Solid, Liquid, and Solidus(and Plasma ) are "born": Begin military training shortly there after. The events of Metal Gear occurs, Snake kills Big Boss and finds out that he's his "father". Mass drinking ensues. *Shit happens in Metal Gear 2* Uh... I'm tired of writing, but everything else is pretty much straightforward, although I never got to play MGS4, so I have no idea what kind of clusterfuck they've added to the series.
  9. Well guess that's a giant no to ZOE3.
  10. If it is ZOE3(and I would shit a brick if it was), it'd be great to see a nice online multiplayer component. Maybe be able to customize your own orbital frame.
  11. While I can't help but think the author is jumping the gun on this, I can't ignore the fact that my 360 has been great to me since I bought it back in '07. Whereas Sony has been claiming that each new year will be the year of the PS3, it seems that they usually fall flat and it's the year of the 360 all over again while Nintendo is off in sales land time after time. I hate to say it, but if the 360 had been brought out without the severe hardware issues and had MS come up with a great marketing strategy for Japan, I doubt Sony would even still be in this race.
  12. I frickin' love it. I love the fact that they don't even waste time to recap, they just fly straight into the new stuff. So great.
  13. I saw it on animesuki, but I thought it was that dumb-looking chibi version. Is it?
  14. For a minute I thought they were actually putting Mickey out of his misery and thus completing the change to this new bastard Disney. Sucks about this though.
  15. It seems to me like a few of you wanted to see the movie just to hate on it for not being your vision of Star Trek.
  16. I'm pretty sure it has more to do with the fact that he was trailing Kirk and Sulu whereas Spock's mother was there 1 second and then started falling the next.
  17. Um.... No.
  18. You fight like a cow!

  20. Press the action button to climb up a ventilation shaft.
  21. You know what? I think it's time to buy a Wii. Virtual Console is looking good with Majora's Mask finally out, and there are plenty of cool if not interesting Wii releases out now. If they released games like Link's Awakening, Oracle of Seasons/Ages, and Wario Land out as DSiWare eventually, I'd also totally grab a DSi. No question.
  22. This right here. I'm pretty sure everyone in the theater I was in laughed when he said he could fence, then when he actually pulled out the thing, everyone was like "oh snap!" So awesome. This would be a great idea I think, but why stop there? I'd love to see a whole new Star Trek universe reboot. To me, this movie really managed to breathe a bunch of life into the series.
  23. Yeah, but more ZOE is always a better thing. Also... Looks more like an S.
  24. You're all wrong. Zone of The Enders 3: The 3rd Pillar
