  1. Yeah, that song is wicked but whenever I made the mix it was after like a binge-week of listening to it so I was just kinda like "I'm gonna mix out of this now", lol. But its on beatport, iTunes, and probably most other fairly large download sites.
  2. I still have it, but its at home as my dorm room is rather tiny so I don't have enough room for it .
  3. Finally got my dorm studio set up, thanks to a new toy. Notice my lack of cleaning (I was out this weekend and I caught some sickness that has been floating around campus) and lack of care of said lack of cleaning...
  4. I was going to, especially considering the fact that I'll be in Nashville that weekend, but they sold out so it looks like a "no".
  5. Just outta curiosity, are there any/going to be any forums for this project?
  6. Thank you. I think the main problem is just the amount of work that would have to go into creating a new FLAC torrent, collecting all of the FLAC files, plus it would make submitting songs to OCR much harder because the submitter would have to find a place to submit FLAC to, not to mention more work on the judges, and while it doesn't seem like all that much it really adds up considering this is a volunteer-driven site and most everyone (if not, everyone) who makes this site what it is has more important things to be doing. Plus, a lot of the old remixes it wouldn't even be worth trying to get FLACs of them considering the amount of contacting one would have to do, not to mention the fact that a lot of remixers may not even have the original project files (I know I don't). Also, and I mean absolutely no disrespect to the community at all as it applies to me as well, but for a lot of remixes it wouldn't be worth doing because any samples used may be running at 44.1/16, or their sound card may not be capable of anything higher, or anything else that may degrade the overall sound quality and having FLACs is only minimally better than a "high-quality mp3". Relatively little recording is done on this site, aside from guitars and the occasional woodwind or something, and typically that is where one would want a FLAC. If you want FLAC files your best best would probably be to contact the artist directly and I highly doubt any of them wouldn't give you one unless it was just generally inconvenient for them (like they don't have all of the parts, missing plugins, etc.), but its really not OCR's problem to deal with.
  7. But how else can I hide my low-quality sample choices if I can't rely on the MP3 compression to cover it all up?
  8. Both of my WIPs will have to wait until next weekend to get started so I can use my new Virus TI Polar (I'm so excited!)
  9. Yeah, I always feel that I'm more impressed by the guy than I actually like his music. That said I absolutely LOVE his approach to music, its refreshing to see someone so down to earth and positive about his abilities, and t would be cool if someone enticed him to come over and do a remix.
  10. Totally wrong forum but I'm digging this remix, it'd be nice if you could somehow get a hold of the original samples used but this still sounds sweet and I love the concept.
  11. This project keeps looking better and better, I'm glad to be on board. Also, if anyone who is skilled with orchestral work/samples wants to contact me and collab on M-Boss I'd be very grateful, or I guess just anyone in general who is down for making something epic. Just shoot me a PM or something.
  12. No, I don't have turntables, I used Ableton Live to make this. And I know, that doesn't make me a real DJ and blahblahblah but I primarily made this mix for me to enjoy and I liked it enough to share it.
  13. Yeah definitely, I made none of these tracks if thats the impression that people are getting.
  14. The LAOS track is started to be mixed in around 35:50, and is mixed out around 37:50 and tbh I kinda wish I didn't throw Synth Geek in the mix but by the time I regretted it I had 2 or 3 tracks past it already mixed, oh well. Still a bangin' tune.
  15. Ah, I guess thats what I get for not keeping my ear to the ground on Protomen-related news. Anyway, just listened through the album and thought it was really good; not the greatest album ever or even that I've heard in the past month (Mew's album No More Stories... is an absolutely phenomenal piece of art), but its a really solid release with plenty of great moments of its own, a solid 8+. There's a 3-song stretch that kinda drags on and some songs the band focuses too much on the style as first shown in "The Stand" on their last album (which IMO isn't as good as some of the other songs on the album) but overall anyone who is a fan won't be disappointed and they're showing clear progress in their sound and sound as polished as ever, though I wish they went more places with their "futuristic spanish western" sound towards the beginning of the album as opposed to the "Top Gunx10000" sound that composes most of the album. All of that said, "The Hounds" and the 3-song stretch that starts with "Breaking Out" is phenomenal and I can't wait to see them perform those live again.
  16. It apparently came out yesterday digitally (though I think the physical copy comes out later this month) and I'm currently listening through it. They're really fleshing out their epic sound for this one from what I can tell, and it works, especially in a live environment (their set at Bonnaroo was fantastic). Anyone else listened to it?
  17. You know, all of this talk about the Dreamcast's birthday and the supposedly better Sonic game got me thinking: Shitty Sonic games are Sega's way of getting back at gamers for abandoning the Dreamcast.
  18. http://soundcloud.com/fli/august-2009-mix-7 Probably my 10th or so mix I've done in Ableton but this one I'm actually digging quite a bit. Check it out.
  19. Not quite hard rock but super uplifting http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lPT_3PEjnsE - Toto - Africa Most epic chorus ever
  20. I'm endlessly excited for this despite: 1. Its not on 360/PS3 (I would buy PS3 for this game, actualy) 2. Its not, AFAIK, being made by Clover Still, the original is so good that I feel like I'll still love this game despite the graphics not being as good and the music probably not being as stunning.
  21. WHO LIKES CHEESY DANCE REMIXES WITH INCREDIBLY COMPRESSED BREAKBEAT INTROS?! http://tindeck.com/listen/xoad The arrangement is meh but I'm sure I'll eventually get it all sorted out
  22. You mean this project might actually....GET RELEASED?!?!
