  1. Oh man, I forgot to mention the fact that all of my friends and I have been playing Mario Tennis for the N64 like madmen, that game is so unbelievably good. We've even come up with team names for whenever we partner up (Me as Paratrooper and one of my friends as DK is known as "The Mario Tennis Challenge" because we have yet to lose). I highly recommend picking it up if anyone ever gets the chance.
  2. http://soundcloud.com/fli/last-call-3 The product of about 6 or 7 straight hours of work today. I need to get one of my friends to lay down a guitar solo right after the synth solo and I need to clean up transitions and other boring BS but I really like it, I plan on this being the closing track to a rock EP/Demo I'm working on. EDIT: Apparently soundcloud requires an account now... http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?yyykmdz22ol
  3. Super Mario RPG is kinda wearing on me as I'm playing through it again, unfortunately. Although it could also be due to the fact that I power leveled on the Dry Bones on the ship so now my characters are around level 20 and I just beat Johnny.
  4. Whoever gave me Toxic Caves better be ready for the cheesiest, silliest house track ever made.
  5. I would agree with you if the robot action was actually good, but it wasn't. The only times I genuinely enjoyed what I saw happen was when Optimus Prime starts wasting dudes in the forest and in the desert. Bumblebee ruining that dog's shit was kinda cool, but I didn't pay money to see robots punch each other. If they are going to have this insane weaponry, then let them actually use their insane weaponry, and not in the lame "I'm going to fire at you from a distance" shit that happened for the last half-hour of the movie. I also don't want to see humans killing Decepticons, humans are boring. I hope the next movie (because there will inevitably be a next movie) just has an all-out no-holds-bar clusterfuck of a battle for a good third of the movie, and less running and rotating helicopter shots. EDIT: He actually liked the first one, and I personally loved the first one, I saw it twice in the theaters and who knows how many times on DVD. I also liked the new Terminator and X-Men movie, both of which were mindless action flicks. Hell, when I got home from watching the movie I watched Cradle 2 the Grave and enjoyed it more than I enjoyed Transformers 2. I hate it when people say "oh you didn't like it because you were expecting plot" because thats not the case. I didn't like it because it was fucking stupid and a bad movie.
  6. My friend wrote an essay on how much he hated it, and I must say I agree with him 110%
  7. Whoever sent me mine deserves a medal or something. I'm way super excited about this, I may even have time for two.
  8. http://soundcloud.com/fli/the-convergence-of-the-twain Just to show that I'm still doing Drum and Bass...although that bassline may be a bit too much.
  9. Except its for the Xbox 360 so no one will buy it...
  10. gg Microsoft, surprisingly enough keeping a very steady stream of great games this generation, I'm impressed. It'll be interesting to see if Sony can top anything like MGS, and even if the MGS comes out for the PS3 as well it won't be nearly as impressive of a nab. I actually like the social networking integration, a great alternative to attempting to create one of their own. That said, Nintendo's seems like it'll be the most interesting, could either be really good or really bad....
  11. I'm in, should be a nice, fun summer project. EDIT: THAT IS IF I NEED TO STATE THAT I WISH TO BE A PART OF THIS PROJECT AGAIN (I'm thick sometimes...)
  12. A selfish part of me is happy you didn't because otherwise I'd really have to step my game up...
  13. Nucking futs, I absolutely love this mix. Good drum patterns and way to not get stupid 80s cheesy with this track which is incredibly easy to do. That dubstep breakdown to this track is perfect, good move, especially considering this site could severely use some dubstep.
  14. old version: http://tindeck.com/listen/wvij EDIT: SLIGHTLY LESS OLD VERSION: EDIT: VERSION 2: COLON: http://tindeck.com/listen/mtto This is kind of a concept I've had in my head for a while, although currently its taking on a way more abstract form than I originally intended, kinda loosely gliding across some of the original's chords and melodies without ever really settling anywhere. I'd like to get some kind of trumpet or sax on there, not-so-much following the original melody but rather just kinda doing its own thing; the original is a nice track but the main thing that attracts me to it is just the atmosphere moreso than the actual melodies contained. Anyway, listen, realize I'm talking for the most part out of my ass, then realize this isn't even close to being finished. source: EDIT2: Fixed the fact that the outro didn't exist earlier, now its just completely out of place like it was intended to be. I'm definitely fine with someone rapping over the last few bars if they want to, but it has to be good though, but not too good either because that'd be a waste. Version 3 (Final?): http://tindeck.com/listen/ojtg
  15. Another '09er here. So far everything I've heard about college is different (aside from the party scene), so I'm not fully knowing what to expect. That said, if you really enjoy doing remixing/music in general then I'm sure you'll make time for it.
  16. Not to start something, but hasn't the Xbox 360 been pretty much neck-and-neck with Nintendo for winning this generation? Granted, Wii is killing everyone in sales but the PS3 has been at best disappointing this generation, I don't know why an article is coming out now, 4 years into the console's lifecycle, saying that THIS YEAR is going to be Xbox 360's year when the past 2 years have been pretty stellar as well. That said, in no way am I implying the PS3 is bad in any way, in fact I'd like to point out how great this generation has been for owners of all systems; this is the first generation in a while where quality titles have been pouring in for all platforms, even the two (arguably three) handhelds and PCs.
  17. This thread makes me want to dust off this thread, but right now my AP Calculus study book is glaring at me.....I can't wait until I'm done with school.
  18. Hey now, Futuresex/Lovesounds was kinda a sweet album.
  19. Two artists I've been obsessed with lately are Bomb the Music Industry! and Flying Lotus. Bomb the Music Industry! is a really good ska one-man-act, like Nine Inch Nails is to industrial-rock. His stuff is so detailed and quick, its amazing how many ideas he fits into such short songs. His newest album can be found Here, not only that but for free too. In fact, the entire record label only has free, donation-based albums, and this guy been doing it before Radiohead. If I can only recommend one song to here off of Scrambles it'd be "Stuff That I Like", just a general language warning though for those who don't like cursing. Flying Lotus is probably most well known for making a lot of the bump music heard on Adult Swim. His album Los Angeles is absolutely brilliant though. It takes a while to get into and get into the feel of it but everything is just so damn groovy that it works. Another sweet song of his can be found at: (not on Los Angeles but still a sweet song).
  20. For a board that so quickly is to criticize bad rap, I'm finding it surprising how much resistance there is towards bad rock.
  21. Unfortunately not - I'm stupid enough that I tried doing this on prom week so the past 3 days have revolved around that and just general socializing.
  22. A bit gimmicky, but works way better in this video as it is actually part of a whole concept as opposed to just "hay guys Bohemian Rhapsody" http://www.vimeo.com/1109226?pg=embed&sec=1109226
  23. Thanks, and another update today because I fell asleep early yesterday x_x
