  1. Did another slight update to give me an excuse to bump this before it goes too far down the pages. Sorry about that. Just want this to get a Mod review before I consider submitting it.
  2. The most obvious to make the drums thicker is to layer two drum sounds over eachother. But yeah theres other ways that someone can probably help you with. Other than that I think the drums are too quiet in your mix and I think you could make the bass a bit bassier (by adjusting the EQ I guess) since thats what dubstep is all about
  3. I'd like to think I've got the balance right now so I've switched the prefix to Mod review. Hopefully you guys can take take the time to look at this soon.
  4. Good to see you're still around and improving a lot. Keep it up bro. Can't really think of much to say about the track except that 3:36 - 3:58 seemed a bit weird to me for some reason and maybe you could do something more with the intro to make the drop at 0:42 more effective.
  5. I've only just gotten into Civ at the end of 4, so I don't know for sure, but apparently Civ 4 was in a similar "rough" state to Civ 5 when it first came out. Seeing how awesome Civ 4 has turned out, I'm hoping for the same with this. Haven't bought 5 yet so I'll wait a bit to see how things turn out. Still havin a lot of fun with 4 so its not that big a deal to be honest. Plus I won't have to spend money which is always good.
  6. They are though. They even speak in their native tongues and you see their entire body. Unless you're talking about the advisors
  7. The demo is such a tease. 100 turns is just when things get interesting. Either way I know I'm definitely buying this asap.
  8. Yeah that sucks. I'm downloading the demo right now atleast. Can't wait to try it. I hate how they chose to release just when people are goin back to college/universtity though.
  9. I watched some of that live stream of the developers playing it. Definitely loving all the subtle, and not so subtle, changes to gameplay. City states seem like they'll mix things up alot. I personally hated unit stacks and the fact that the losing unit in a fight would always die. Prefer the new system a lot more.
  10. @ Rozovian: Thanks for feedback. Glad the issues are things that I can sort out relatively easily. I was worried that the song was too short for all those sources but it works out i guess. @ neblix: I see what your saying lol. Thats the turnabout sisters theme though. Didnt even notice they started with basically the same notes till you said that...
  11. Made a new thread so I could add the prefix thing. I followed the critiques from the last one and can't really think of anything to improve on but there are probably still some issues that i cant personally spot. 12. I randomly decided to just revamp this for some reason. Not planning on submitting it for obvious reasons. Just felt like working on it again so I might aswell share it. Updated in the first post too. http://sites.google.com/site/vspaine/wips/BoutwithaBeast.mp3?attredirects=0&d=1
  13. Been waiting for a remix of this. Never thought it would be in this genre but it works surprising well. Thats why I love ReMixes. Hope to hear more from you.
  14. I really liked them. Nearly perfectly mashed up, especially the Mario one. Good stuff.
  15. After listening to the Kraftwerk song, I'd say you definitely got their style down. I've never heard anything like it so I'm probably not the best person to critique. But I will say that I found it interesting and unique all the way through so good job with that. The codec sound effect was a nice touch at the end
  16. I know I'm probably biting off more than i can chew by trying to remix this but i'll try it anyways. Source: Its the first wip so I was a little lazy with humanisation in some parts. Also because of the weird piano/synth sample I'm using, I had to use absolutely no reverb which makes it sound dry in the lower pitch notes. I'll sort it out in the next wip. ReMix: http://sites.google.com/site/vspaine/wips/Ease.mp3?attredirects=0&d=1
  17. Update: Changed the piano playing the lead melodies to an electric one. Put a subtle synth in the background to fill up empty space a bit. Increased and varied up the tempo in places. Added a very breif cameo of "Jailer's Elegy", another song from the game, in the middle. Hopefully the songs a bit more interesting now and all the different songs meld together ok. Comments appreciated.
  18. @ Hoboka: Yeah, I've been busy with life and stuff recently. I kinda feel dead in a way lol. Anyway, thanks for both your replies. I've tried to make improvements to everything said and also extended the song with a couple other songs from the game. Sources: Not sure if these fit in well with eachother but i gave it a go anyways. Use the same link in first post for the mix
  19. First attempt at a piano arrangement. Its pretty short at the moment because I'd like some feedback on what I've attempted so far. Its of the Detective Gumshoe theme. Source: ReMix: http://sites.google.com/site/vspaine/wips/PWmedley.mp3?attredirects=0&d=1
  20. I'd love the Syndicate series to comeback. I loved it when I played it back in the day but a modern version would be so much better. Don't think theres any game quite like it out right now.
  21. I love this theme and you did a great job making this your own. I love the lead you used. Gives it both a calming and epic feel. I can see myself listening to this for a while.
  22. I'm liking the unique, kinda funky feel to this. The only thing I don't really like is the lead sample. Probably because its at such a low pitch. Just my preference though.
  23. Update: Tweaked EQ and volume so things are more balanced. Changed arrangement towards the end so its more of a climax.
  24. Thanks for help. Update: Did pretty much everything you guys said I reckon. I'd love to know for sure though.
  25. Congrats. Probably no one more deserving to get something on the site because of all the help you consistently give on the WIP boards. I always feel bad that I can't do more of that but I just don't know enough yet. Anyway, slick track you got here. A constant catchy groove and beat throughout. Maybe some more varition on the beat would've been nice but the genre doesn't really warrant it I guess.
