  1. The drivers sound likely -- do you have an older version of the drivers you can install?
  2. Looks like it would potentially be very useful in a school setting for teaching students about synthesizers.
  3. Joshua Morse has a page here which sorts ReMixes into genres using a tag system. I'm not sure if the site contains every ReMix yet, but it would definitely be a good place to start.
  4. Game: The Magical Quest Starring Mickey Mouse Song Title: Dark Forest MIDI: http://www.vgmusic.com/music/console/nintendo/snes/MQSMM-DarkForest.mid SPC: (track 09) http://www.zophar.net/download.php?file=/zsnes/spc/mickeymq.rar YouTube: (at 3:53)
  5. http://www.zzounds.com/item--THKSTER2 As far as I know, ReCycle is the only program that does it.
  6. You can get a mic preamp for pretty cheap. http://www.zzounds.com/item--ART127, for example ($40). I have no idea how good they sound, but something like this might be what you need.
  7. The error page that comes up links to the file -- it's still easier than manually searching through the list of games to find the correct track.
  8. Are you thinking about a stand-alone mic preamp, or a recording interface with a built-in preamp?

  10. How long have you had this number? There are only a finite amount of phone numbers available, and especially with cell phones you can wind up being assigned a number that used to belong to someone else. I've had my cell phone number for over a year and I still get calls intended for whoever used to have the number before I got it. Maybe the guy the bill collectors are trying to reach has stopped making his payments but "forgot" to tell them that the phone number they have for him is no longer accurate, and you had the misfortune to get the number that used to be his.
  11. Wax 2.0. It's a little buggy, but it works better than any other freeware video editor I've found. Also, yes, if you just need the basics, and control over the output format isn't a big deal to you, just use Movie Maker.
  12. And Melodyne Essential comes bundled free with some hardware units. I have it, but haven't installed it yet, so I'm not sure how much it can do.
  13. This is FL, right? I'm going from online help documentation (http://flstudio.com/help/html/fformats_save_wavmidmp3.htm, http://flstudio.com/help/html/envsettings_wave.htm) and not the actual program, so I apologize if this info turns out to be inaccurate: The sampling rate isn't set in the export dialog box; to set the sampling rate to 44.1khz, open the Audio Settings window -- there should be a "Mixer" section with a "Sample rate (Hz)" field. Set the sample rate to 44100. You should be able to leave the stuff in the Export dialog box as it is.
  14. I stopped paying attention to Fox "News" after a story they ran last December which implied that Christians maybe ought to be offended by the Archbishop of Canterbury's (correct) assertion that the Bible doesn't support every detail of the popularized Christmas story. They want controversy. Controversy sells news. If they have to manufacture that controversy, they'll do it. I've neither played Mass Effect nor seen Fox's take on it, but I would bet money that they've blown it far out of proportion because it's the kind of thing that sells news.
  15. You uploaded a 48khz file and the streamer's trying to play it at 44.1khz. The Flash streamer Tindeck uses apparently doesn't do sample-rate conversions. Re-export the file as 44.1khz from whatever audio program you're using and try uploading it again.
  16. A file format problem, perhaps -- maybe it's trying to play the file at the incorrect sampling rate? Can you provide a link to the page it streams from so we can hear it?
  17. Agreed. Maybe instead of a full-fledged project, we just need to convince some people to do Rayman mixes independently -- there currently aren't any on OCR. Or maybe I'll just do one if I can find the time.
  18. "Piration" is such an unusual word that this thread is the ninth result in a Google search for it.
  19. QFE. In fact, don't buy RAM from any computer manufacturer, PC companies such as Dell included. They all charge waaaaay too much for it.
  20. If you decide to get a PC but expect to switch back to a Mac at some point in the future, you might want to stay away from Sonar, as it's Windows only. Also, if you do get a laptop from Dell, Gateway, etc., consider reinstalling Windows first thing. It clears out all that pre-installed garbage zircon mentioned and leaves you with a nice shiny new OS (you do have to reinstall all your drivers, which is a pain, but I think it's worth it). EDIT: From my limited experience with Logic, its workflow and general layout seem a little unusual compared to most other DAWs I've used. Be prepared to do some relearning if you switch.
  21. I didn't even realize I'd needed this. Nice.
