I picked up Wings of Prey because it was cheap, and it's actually an AWESOME game. Maybe it's because I haven't been keeping up much with recent flight sims but it just 'feels' really good, as long as you at least have a controller or preferrably a joystick. The difficulty settings vary between 'arcade' and 'simulation', the latter of which is actually pretty damn hardcore/realistic.

Anecdotal load of crap if you ask me. If you take a look at professional gaming, you'll notice that the top players are almost always *young*. Reflexes and learning ability diminish with age, younger gamers have an innate advantage. There are, for example, very few professional starcraft players that can keep up after the age of 25. Another point against it is the contemporary omnipresence of the internet; it's much easier for gamers nowadays to share ideas, techniques and knowledge than it was back in the day, which improves the overall skill level greatly.

Guitar Rig 4 is an amp sim, an insert effect, not a VSTi. It simulates a variety of guitar amplifiers and cabinets.

That's the point. For lead guitar the only acceptable sounding VSTi is Prominy LPC which costs as much as a mid-tier guitar. And it's more time-consuming in the sense that you get to fuck around with articulations for a few hours before you have a decent sounding line whereas with an actual guitar you can get entire tracks done in a few minutes.

Prominy LPC/Shreddage *obligatory VSTis suck, learn to play a real guitar because it's easier/cheaper/less time-consuming*

This really describes the whole Japanese games industry, and the JRPG genre in particular, quite well.

Square hasn't made a good game in years, so yeah, it probably will suck.

Get rid of the cringeworthy vocals, they sound gimmicky and don't really add anything to the mix.

Amen. My stuff gets complicated as fuck sometimes, but it's all FL Studio (well, and Audacity and T-racks, but that's neither here nor there).

The dialogue system and branching storyline is a LOT more indepth than Mass Effect though. I found the actual missions pretty bearable with a stealth-specced character, but yeah, still not amazing. Worth playing for the storyline/dialogue though.

Mafia 2 and AvP get~ This has been an expensive week.
