  1. I think you just post it in this thread and Liontamer or whoever's in charge will add it to the database when he feels like it.
  2. Ahhh, it's a piano. That would explain that slight hint of a percussive element to the sound. Thanks! Also, I just discovered the "secret" ending to The White Lagoon. Exquisite piano playing! That's definitely the highlight of the album for me.
  3. Oh dude, this percussion is BADASS! The synth lead isn't always powerful enough, but it seems like you chose to focus more on the drums in this song and in that area, you did wonderfully! For me, the album was hit-or-miss some of the time but I definitely admire the effort and heart you put into all of this! I'm glad you were able to finish it up, and there are some real standout tracks (such as the last one you put up.) Congratulations! Also, I like the synth that you used throughout White Lagoon (the one found prominently in the intro,) can you explain to me how you got that?
  4. That means it's a topic you've posted in at least once before.
  5. OCR has really restored my faith in the concept of a true online community. I've left almost every community I've been a part of online because people degraded into douches and stopped welcoming new people in. However, I've really admired the sense of welcoming that I've found on these boards (as long as I avoid Off-topic and PPR, that is! ) Plus, the fact that a lot of you guys would move to a completely different state/region of the country and fly out annually to go to meetups says a lot about the community and it's one that I'd like to be a part of at some point You guys is cool peeps!
  6. If you have torrenting capabilities, there should be a dialog box that opens up when you add the main OCRemix torrents to your torrent client. You can select and deselect songs within that box, so if you just deselect everything except for the mixes that start with Mega Man or Street Fighter (since the songs are alphabetically organized based on the game) then complete the download, you'll have every remix from that game. If you don't use torrents though, you'll have to do it all manually.
  7. I can't really, the queue looks the same as last time, but I'll take your word for it Thanks Palpable for all the work that you've been doing to speed things up, though
  8. Does this work with regular video game music?
  9. It has to be based on a video game song first off, but it needs to be substantially arranged so that it's different enough from the source so that it's not just a straight cover. That means that some segments of the song can be originally-written, derivative material, but the source tune has to be dominant in the song if you want it to get past the Judges.
  10. I have to disagree here - this feels pretty unconventional, partly due to the chosen source material, but it feels completely cohesive and organic. While the cello is nice, it's not just the live instruments that gives this mix personality. Every element of the soundscape comes together to make this mix memorable and unique. One of my favorite DKC remixes, killer job!
  11. Dude, this would be so much better than a vocal-less mix! I may be in the minority but I thought the rapping was awesome, fit the mood of the song, and had pretty great lyrics to boot. Pretty please? :3
  12. Maybe I'm missing something obvious here, but I don't see how speeding up the judging process would actually fix anything. As much as I like looking at the queue just for the hell of it, the holdup doesn't seem to be on their end. There's, what, 30 mixes to be posted right now? The real bottleneck seems to be with DJP actually posting the mixes to the front page. With only one person posting mixes, it doesn't matter how fast mixes are getting judged, the overall posting speed will be the same. Of course, I completely understand why djp can't speed up the pace on those considering his incredibly busy life, and I wouldn't want to sacrifice his brilliant writeups by bringing someone else on board, either. I'm not really sure how things could be sped up overall
  13. I have to agree with The Mutericator-- the soundtracks that have been so focused down to one single genre have been very forgettable for me, on the whole. Don't get me wrong, I think there was a lot of talent involved in both Relics and Chrono Symphonic, if you're not a fan of orchestral or ambient there's just not a lot to like about them, despite the effort that was put in by the contributing artists. These kind of albums alienate a lot of people, unfortunately. Theives of Fate, DQD and Voices of the Lifestream were fully cohesive and listenable as whole albums, but they had a lot of genre variety between songs.
  14. I always end up unconsciously playing parts of this arrangement whenever I'm improving on the piano. It really sticks in your head One of the first piano mixes I discovered off this site, so it holds a special place in my heart for that reason alone
  15. Fun stuff I love the subtlety of the non-chiptune elements in your song. It's breezy, appropriate for the source, doesn't overstay its welcome, and just makes me happy Love your work, halc, keep pumping this stuff out! And finish your Majora's Mask mix!
  16. Exactly what I was coming in here to say. If you're really motivated and you've done your homework, it's possible to succeed and I'd wish you all the best of luck with the project if you end up moving forward with it As far as I'm concerned you've got more credibility and reputation than Foxhull did when he started the Xenogears project and that project got finished despite some setbacks and opposition, so if you're up for it I think it's something within your reach. Plus, any project spearheaded by you has the potential to be that "EVERY TRACK IN THIS PROJECT IS BY BLINDD" project that BGC referenced in another thread, and we'd all love for that to happen
  17. Bahaha, there was a part of the synth solo that I could have sworn was an homage to Dragonforce This is pretty badass dude, but I have to agree with the evktalo on this, the whole vocals section seemed out of place and didn't really go with what you'd set up in the song thus far. That being said, the lyrics themselves were pretty neat and everything after the vocals was great! Loved the violin for the few parts that it came in for I like this a lot more than the other Remix generation mixes posted so far (which were both very good, granted) but I think this should have won.
  18. Hey, good luck getting your DKC mix past the Judges :) I thought the arrangement was fantastic!

  19. Um... why? If you just want to hit up the concert, you should be perfectly in the clear regardless of what age you are
  20. Apparently the concert is actually for people 21 and under, as well, so you should be in the clear It's the convention that the concert's a part of that requires you to be over 21.
