diy & experimental electronic music
The Pezman replied to analoq's topic in Music Composition & Production
When was this? I'd love to hear it. However, the only percussion-only track that comes to mind off the top of my head is the Chrono Trigger World Map music in 65 million BC. Do you think you could make an experimental (whatever that means to you, I suppose) track to submit here? Maybe then we'd have a better idea of how you see it working. -
Do you have ANY kind of project that needs custom music?

Then perhaps a good idea would be to offer some lessons (akin to your videos) in digital composing and production, especially aimed at musical people who have never given two thoughts to using a computer. Not only could you likely use that to boost your own numbers, but it would be a great way to link with other schools as well. -
Hell yeah. I, for one, was getting tired of Newark's bad rap and living off an exit. This is fantastic, and totally on key. Other famous peeps they didn't mention include Zach Braff (who grew up a stone's throw from where I live) and Kal Penn (who actually went to my town's local high school). And the final scene of the final episode of the Sopranos was filmed in my town's well-known diner. And, of course, there's the famed "New Jersey" episode of How I Met Your Mother, but I can't find a link for it anywhere. Suck it, non-Jerseyans.

Making games with RPG Maker XP
The Pezman replied to The Legendary Zoltan's topic in General Discussion
Yeah, if you really want to make a game it's worth the extra effort to learn to program. Ta da! Instant marketable skill! -

I would love to, but it gets kind of hard to remix a melody into something experimental. You're a judge... imagine what a time you'd have with evaluating something like that. I do have some grandiose, never-been-done plans for my entering remix, though. -

Do you give lessons/walkthroughs? Are the other members proficient with DAWs? -
The one that started it all: I remember this one because Sonic sounded nothing like he should have. Hahahaha... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mQj4wjspQZE Huh... figured I should post this one as well. Interesting, to say the least.

Would you guys say this is less of a traditional fighter? It seems that way given that it takes place in three dimensions. Even though I normally dislike fighting games Brawl appeals to me, and I'm wondering whether I can expect the same here.

Oh, I'm about to throw up the horns. And if that wasn't WTF enough... Still more? Here's one in English... Not technically a game commercial, but...

Hey, that's not fair. I'm sure there are plenty of people waiting for her to turn 18.

Huh... the Escapist player doesn't seem to work on Safari. Yup.

where's the namm thread!?
The Pezman replied to audio fidelity's topic in Music Composition & Production
As soon as you can drop $5 grand. I mean, I've seen Jordan Rudess wailing on it. There's no way it's worth that much. It's just the pitch bend extended like crazy. Ridiculous doesn't begin to describe it. -
...and post it to Youtube?

What hardware did you use to record these?

Well, they're certainly not exactly the same, but thanks to Max/MSP I can also make the VCI fairly modular. Maybe not to the extent of the Monome (which is why I may get one someday), but given my resources I think it's a fairly decent thing to play around with for now. -
Listening to Guitar as it's recorded - on a budget
The Pezman replied to The Pezman's topic in Music Composition & Production
Is it possible to record the clean audio (so you can mess with it afterwards), but also layer effects onto the live input (so the guitarist can play around and see what sounds good)? Anyone know about Logic? Or how to enable it Live? -
Music needed for recently released iPhone game, 30 and Dirty

Is Cocoa hard to learn? I've been thinking about becoming a Mac/iPhone dev for some time (well... since I bought a MBP in October). -
So I'd love to record my roommate's electric guitar, and I can easily plug it into the Apogee Duet to do so. However, there are two problems: 1. How do you enable real-time playback of the guitar processing through the effects, so that you can hear what you're playing? I wasn't able to get this to work in Garageband, at any rate. And I don't want to do anything annoying like route the signal through an amp... that's just annoying and unwieldy for a portable setup, plus it doesn't account for whatever I may be overlaying in the DAW. 2. Can some programs do it and others not? Apparently can do it. Is it something that has to be enabled depending on the program?

I've been thinking of getting one of those for some time, but in the end I settled for something cheaper: How much did it end up costing you? Do you think it was worth it? And what do you use the AudioKontrol for most of the time? And what's that device on the right? -

Hmmm. They remade this game for PS2. Are any of the tracks different? Also, some forum heavy-hitters might swing around to tell you this, but it's difficult to jump into managing a project if you're not well-established in the community. Now yes, you're the wife of a well-known remixer and you've been listening to remixes for quite some time, but if people don't know you well personally it's not easy to stay on their backs to submit tracks. I've been an active poster for over two years and right now I don't think any project I managed would get very far. Hopefully that will change, but down the line.
