Yes, actually. Dickinson is far from a random sample of the population. People here are the future leaders: smart and interested in new things. Or so I thought. If I agree to DJ, I'll play whatever they want, especially if they're paying me $150 and tell me what they want beforehand. The issue is that I think such a limited selection further decimates people's already poor taste. QUOTE=Dhsu;481372]Do you have a recording of this? It's easy to just say people have no taste, which is true, but it's also possible they were more unsatisfied with the quality of the performance itself than the song you picked.

Ah, I was hoping for a thread like this. This semester I've been recruited to DJ two dance parties. I have DJed smaller events in the past, and there I was able to play a blend of styles: Reggae, rock, electro, and of course hip hop. But little did I realize just how serious the monotony of music desired was. The first time I was nearly kicked out of the DJ booth because I didn't have the twenty hip hop songs by the five artists people wanted to hear. The second time around I asked for music in advance, and it was more of the same. The worst of it? My roommates and I participated in Apollo Night (a talent show based on diversity and minority performance) with Dylan's All Along the Watchtower and we were booed off. I don't think any song or genre is destructive in itself, but when people only want to hear loud, aggressive, lewd lyrics with repetitive four bar backgrounds we have a problem.

Word. Smash Brothers Brawl pushes Wii to the limit. I can't imagine how one would work on PSP. Anyone else notice that Butz is using Cloud's Buster Sword?

I think you've got some outstanding business before you get into those...

HD Remix soundtrack: What files/encoding quality do you want?
The Pezman replied to Liontamer's topic in General Discussion
Keep in mind that while most users may listen to it on an iPod or computer speakers (CDs, Zircon? Really?), some won't. Like yours truly. I actually don't like to listen to music through headphones, and I am planning to invest in a high quality speaker system. In that context, quality difference will be significantly more apparent. For that reason, my music collection is entirely in Monkey's Audio (a cousin of FLAC, with slightly better compression rates but for some reason not nearly as well-supported). Now of course I'm probably not representative of even .5% of those who will download these tracks, but given how little effort a lossless release will take, I see little reason to disenfranchise me. As for space and bandwidth, remember that this is a torrent, and not an HTTP download. The whole point of torrents is to save on these things by distributing it out to us, the fans, and I will do my part to seed to thank you all for the fantastic, free tunage. If you're still concerned, there are ways to make them smaller, such as different ways to compress them (put the flacs in one folder, mp3s in the other, and zip em both up, or use .7z, which is more efficient). Furthermore, let's remember that there is an objective difference between mp3s and lossless, even if most people don't care. But this is a site very concerned with production quality. Would the judges pass a mix if there were production issues that 99% of the listeners wouldn't hear and/or care about? OCR prides itself on being the creme de la creme, so why limit availability to anything less than that? -
How does this look? I even highlighted the exact streets you'd take. I'm not far from Newark, and it seems you'll be passing by that in your original route. My house is a quick trip off the parkway, and then you can get back on. Someone please tell me how to resize an image with MS Paint. I don't have my own computer right now.

You're not passing anywhere near NJ, are you?

Explain to me this "high definition television"

I'm just going with an HD projector. Seems to be more portable and possibly less expensive, and you've got mini-movies all the time. -
There are only a few appropriate ways to celebrate this. One is Futurama style: Great news, everyone! Another is Youtube style. Look what I found: Even the groom's name is right.

What is that extension?

Anyone know of any?

Well, I can guarantee you have a great bass pedal.

Updates: OOT/OOT Master Quest claimed by Zombie Klonoa 2, La Pucelle, & Myst games claimed by Darklink42 Xenogears claimed by The Xyco I know more people sent me requests, but unfortunately I have to do this in waves. That I'm able to do it at all in the midst of college is an accomplishment. Please be patient, and though I haven't made any moves on others yet, the games are essentially reserved for you until I do.

Holy... 3.0? Alright, I looked for a place to download 3.0 and couldn't find it. Linkage, plz?

Right, and that's one reason I like PC games more: a greater degree of flexibility.

Hey... it's possible I could make this. Not likely, with costs and everything, but possible. -
Like, seriously. I pulled it up tonight in order to present tomorrow on the development I did over the summer. I figure I'll just install the XNA Runtime environment... That needs .net, but I download and install it. I click on the executable game... no dice, it doesn't open. Fuck. So I decide to download the developer's center to recomplile it. That needs Microsoft Visual Studio C# 2005 (no, 2008 won't work. 2005). And the Service Pack. So I download all that crap and finally get the Runtime environment going. I try to open the project... "This project is not supported." What the fuck? So I import the code to a new project manually. Then it tells me the font isn't compiling, apparently it doesn't work for "this version." I don't even know which version this is compared to last time. Jesus Christ, has this been ridiculous. It's turned me off from ever using the program again. I'll bet Flash doesn't have half this many workarounds and compatibility issues. Beware XNA, gentlemen.

The project? I'm sure it's viable. We just need to commit enough time. So perhaps the back burner would be more appropriate.

Castlevania: Symphony of the Night Remixed
The Pezman replied to Mustin's topic in General Discussion
And as the young lad, in his symphony of glee, listened intently to each and every track, his face fell. Where was the uber-bitchin tune against which he rocked the socks off of every major villain in the castle? Where was Festival of Servants? Where? Good job though. Very nice compilation. Not much else to complain about. -
Over in the Japanese remix forums. Duh.
