  1. Alright, that's definitely closer to what I'm talking about. But I'm basically asking how to do the reverse: taking video OUT from a clip when video and audio are already synced.
  2. No, these were years and years ago. Like early 2000s.
  3. Hey all. So I was trying to edit a video together for the very first time. Unfortunately, I was an idiot and didn't plan accordingly, so the project ended up being a bust. One reason for that, however, was because I couldn't seem to figure out a way to maintain an audio track from one clip while inserting video from another. I was told that was a Final Cut only feature, but then I recalled all the fanmade music videos I'd seen, with music tracks being linked with video game footage and the like. So I imagine there must be a way to work with audio and video from different tracks in iMovie. Does anyone know what it is?
  4. I happen to agree with you about the utility of the iPad vs the iPhone, but think about what this app is meant for - performance-composition. I doubt FL Studio or any VSTs would be able to match it there. If pure composition is your main goal, then yes, I imagine you could do better than an app like this. In fact, you could do better than a tablet altogether for the amount they cost.
  5. I actually do. I don't know how you knew I watch that show, though. I suppose that does raise questions of traitor-judges, working to destroy the organization from the inside out. Has that ever been a concern?
  6. Well, I never said it was easy (maybe that "just" made it sound like I did). And I know that you have consider each person in question. But I imagine there must be more people in the community who are qualified and willing to judgify submissions.
  7. Just a simple question here: I understand that judges have lives and things to attend to, which means that it takes some time before submissions are reviewed. Maybe I'm missing something here, but why not just add more judges?
  8. Oh hai Monome. Nah, but if I had an iPad I'd totally go for it. Less expensive than a monome, for sure.
  9. Sounds like I'll have to take a trip to Nintendoworld to check it out upon release. Anyone in the area want to come with?
  10. http://www.nanoloop.com/iphone Anyone tried this? I plan to once I get an iPhone this summer.
  11. Not many games tackle sex/relationship problems. Kudos for that, at least.
  12. Hey, don't forget that one of the songs is a puzzle in itself!
  13. http://www.gamesradar.com/f/soundtracks-you-didnt-know-were-stolen/a-2009051312473912094/p-1 And this one has always niggled at me, even though it's between 2 videogames and they're not all that similar. Maybe it's a different inversion of the same chord or something? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9L40Uiq8Qy4&t=2m14s

  15. Did he have to sync all those sounds with the video? Good lord...
  16. Hey Mac heads. So I've been trying to use Logic a little more frequently now, as I'm doing some recording. I have an Apogee Duet that I'm trying to use as a recording input. I tell Logic to listen to that, it crashes. Even when I just try and quit Logic, it crashes. Without fail. Both Logic and my OS are the latest versions available. Am I the only one who has these sorts of issues, or do others have them as well?
  17. Anyone feel like reviving that torrent and adding all this new stuff to it? Also, Project Phoenix FTW.
  18. Thanks. You made me realize I had to implement some guidelines. So, now that they're there, you can see the answer is "no." This is a perfect example of a request, not a challenge. The only reason you wrote that is because you have a personal preference for music from those games. Challenges should not depend on personal preference. Furthermore, mixing 3D Sonic music does not provide any particular challenge. If you were to impose an interesting restriction, then it might become a challenge, but to be honest it would still be a long shot.
  19. Lately, it has become apparent that OCRemix will remix songs simply because a major video game company will accuse them of not having done so. Or because some random person on Youtube says they can't. This is a golden opportunity for us. After all, we are the community here. The lifeblood of this organization. Who are these outsiders who callously accuse OCR of its mixing capabilities (or lack thereof)? We, the community, know what OCR can do, and vice versa. Therefore, it is our duty and privilege to dare OCR to create the biggest, baddest mixes EV4R. It's how we'll keep them on their toes. And before you ask, yes, I'm fully aware of the "requests" forum. And shame on you for even thinking to equate this to that. These are not mere requests. These are not idle, wayward thoughts about what might make a phat sound. No. These are attacks. These are challenges (or smackdowns, or call-outs, or whatever your preferred nomenclature). When we bring the heat, we are challenging the very honor of OCR, the very spirit which has made it what it is. OCR's success or failure in meeting these challenges will say much about its responsiveness, capabilities and, ultimately, its place in gaming history. Do not abuse the notion, or this thread. The Rules: These challenges are not to be made to individual mixers. They are put out to OCR as a whole The challenge must present significant novelty for the site (a new genre, a new type of interpretation, etc) All challenges must adhere to OCR's policies and guidelines Challengers may only have one active challenge at a time Challengers must present a good reason if they wish to withdraw a challenge prematurely I shall begin. The Challenge: Mix a track whose source has no clear melody. This is one example. is another.I look forward to the developments.
  20. 7 minutes of voice over is way too much. Pick your best lines and do 30-45 seconds worth. You could also stand to clean them up a little. Do a couple takes and experiment with intonation. Eliminate the mouse clicks. Maybe identify the sources (if any) and/or provide videos and screenshots from the games in question.
  21. http://www.iconsf.org/ For some reason, it's never really occurred to me to go before, but it's not far (1.5 hours on the Long Island railroad). However, I was reminded about it early enough that I'm considering it. Compared to MAGFest or PAX East, it would actually be really easy to get to, and it might be smaller as well. Anyone else interested?
