  1. very peaceful and calm, it is high quality but there isnt much to rearrange, not much there. also its kind of plain(some people might not mind that nor is there really anything wrong with it), though i still think its a good mix, it definitely needs some work. but i think i can understand what you're trying to do with this mix. great job!
  2. it has good beat and tune, arrangement is great, good quality, but its a little on the plain side, but great job though for your efforts!
  3. its good, but its kind of plain, nothing really exciting or unique about it, but it sounds like generic ocr mixes so i guess it would pass(the effort counts too though), good job!
  4. lol:-), sorry to get offtopic but, do you have any idea why Andy isnt online or on AIM? nevermind.
  5. happy birthday! you may not know me, but i know Andy, lol.
  6. This is a pretty awesome mix! the original track happens to be one of my favorite tunes in Mario 64. this is great, but to make it better you might want to get rid of some of the things because in many parts of the mix, its distorted and chaotic and it doesnt sound good in those parts. great job!
  7. pretty good so far! adding old video game system sounds with a modern perspective, interesting. but i would say there is still a lot of work to do. it sounds actually to a certain type of DDR music style(trance i think, maybe electronic). keep on working on it! good job!
  8. well for one, it has a horrible ending in the sense that its like a repeat song that never has an ending. it repeats exact same thing throughout the song. its too short.doesnt have a unique pattern, no arrangement there. a few instruments were low quality MIDI sounds. you have a lot of polishing to do. Good try anyway!
  9. id like to, but im not sure if time will permit. i like to take my time on songs, and if this is something has to be done quickly in a race against time, i dont think i could. maybe, im not certain though, so dont post me as doing it, cause im not sure. if not this one, maybe the next one or the one after that one. if i can do it, i will notify you on this thread.
  10. this song is amazing! it has many similar things to the original, while yet taking on a unique perspective. Two flippin thumbs up. Keep up the outstanding work!
  11. great mix! this sounds like a track from a lighthearted part of a movie. i cant think of anything to improve, this would at least get to the panel, if not get passed. outstanding job!
  12. its pretty good, personally i dont like that genre of music, but this song i actually like! i think it would be good enough to post, of course, there are always things to fix. awesome job!
  13. honestly, it doesnt even sound like the original. it has only one instrument, nothing to compliment it. it probably wouldnt get passed by the judges just because its lacks so many things. its ok i guess, but its nothing special, might want to give a more unique perspective, use more instruments that flow along with it. great job though!
  14. Ableton Live is pretty awesome, however, i dont know much about Reason. Logic you can NOT download a demo of. what i know most about is in Garageband and Logic Pro(and Express). If you have an Apple computer(and alot of money) then Logic is the way to go. ive done extensive research on Logic, it has some pretty cool abilities! you can edit your instruments and adjust them just where you want them. you can create music that sounds and feels professional(with state-of-the-art loops and creation abilities). from looking at it, its very easy to use(it could be just be me). audio quality thats pristine and purely digital magic. its definitely worth the money if you can afford it. there are many other extraordinary abilities about it but its too long to describe them all. for more information, go to http://www.apple.com/logicpro/. as for Garageband, its very good also, not nearly as awesome as Logic Pro though. for a free music system, its pretty A** kicking. you can create some very professional, quality music if you know how to use it. for more information on Garageband, go to http://apple.com/ilife/garageband/. Live is great too though.
  15. this is one awesome mix! the arrangement and production value are awesome, and it sounds great! its sounds like a boss theme from a video game(i've never played FF 7 so wouldnt know if it was). it became choatic in some parts though. spectacular job!
  16. well, let me listen to it again... i take some of it back not most of the remixing instruments are MIDI sounding, i guess i mistaked it for something else, but some of the beats sounded MIDI like,in the beats it just sounds low quality, maybe im hearing wrong, i dont know.and im not refering to the keyboard, those types of keyboards are excellent, there are two different meanings for MIDI. but anyway i also think some parts were too chaotic. its just that i think that very easily you could do a better job if you worked with it a few more hours, and listening to an occaisional tip always helps. keep on working on it.
  17. this is pretty awesome, of course i actually listened to this before this was posted. zircon told me a secret name to get to his remix. but as for the new one, ill try to convince him in to showing me it. but if he hears me say this, maybe he wont, its between a rock and a hard place. lol. yeah but i can see what you mean by needing to finish it, zircon(now its finished but this was beforehand). great mix! keep up your awesome work!
  18. hello um, i went to http://www.yousendit.com and it says you can make links to third party websites and send files but i dont know where i would send it to make a link to ocremix or where my song would go. it would be easier if someone could tell me step by step how to use http://www.yousendit.com to post to WIPs, where i would put my song, all in order. i would appreciate it if someone could tell me how to do that, thanks..
  19. i dont know, personally i dont like this genre, but i guess you have to look from someones opinion who likes the genre and in that case, its pretty good. great job!
  20. Kompakt is a software sampler. from the information, it looks like a music system, like Garageband, Fruity Loops etc. its also recomended by the band Linkin Park. it seems that Ethno World is similar to a jam pack, like you need a Garageband or Logic to use it but the jam pack has the library of loops. so yeah, you will probably need the system to use it, if you're lucky, you might be able to use it with A system. for more information go to: www.native-instruments.com, or use google and type in Kompakt, thats where i got the information. As for comparing, i dont have a clue. glad to be of any help.
  21. pretty good, its kind of repetitive though. you might want to make it less repetive and add something totally different in any certain point in the song, you know you can create something totally new in a part, even something that isnt part of the original, you are allowed to do it as long as the mix itself is for the most part from the original. also, you might want to replace the main instrument(whatever it is) for a high-noted string variation(just what i think). sound quality is OK, but could be better. keep on trying! great job!
  22. pretty awesome, its very similar to DDR style, like Sandstorm by DaRude. i never thought of making electronic DDR style zelda remixes, its a great idea! great job!
  23. pretty good, but there were a few issues with it. -most of the beats and some other instruments sounded like low-quality MIDI sounds -you didnt have a pianist, though some of the instruments covered it mostly to make it sound like it had one(DarkeSword's "Four Man Music Theory" in which the pianist is a subtle tune in the background, like a string variation. it makes it sound better despite how subtle it is). -you could probably make it more exciting, more adventurous in the way its made, even funky. Great job other than those issues!
  24. the song's music genre isnt my favorite, but this mix is pretty awesome(for this type of song). you might want to make it more unique in the way it goes about, a little different. you did a pretty darn good job. great mix! two minutes later:
