  1. what's the verdict on project x by the way? when i was going to get bravely default i saw that was out. anyone heard anything?
  2. no. it's the black guy that you always see in developer interviews.
  3. i'm late to the party but this sounds like fun! i bike 18 miles (to work and back) 3-4 times a week, lift twice a week, and play basketball for 2-3 hours twice a week. it's been getting some results, but some extra bonus focus couldn't hurt!
  4. guess who has bravely deeefaulltttt also if you've seen screenshots... it looks infinitely better in 3d
  5. duly noted. question 2: why? i've heard vaguely good things but really know very little about the game itself other than it's a ff 3 (US) style game with adjustable class system. those are both good things to me but having some sense of what i'm going into would be nice.
  6. he's a 2003 there's no way he's serious
  7. can't even front that is a game you want chat for. but it's also a game you don't play with random people who will screech your ears off, which is what i was saying before; making it a process to enable voice chat makes it something you only do when it's a worthwhile endeavor, such as monster hunter where you want to be able to truly cooperate and communicate with your friends, instead of randoms. which is the reasonable conversation we should have been having. sadly crowbar is dumb as bricks so we haven't been.
  8. what the fuck do you think '3rd party headsets' are, headsets made by madcatz? at least we can all agree you're an idiot.
  9. confirmed. also pretty much the only games that require you to use voice chat based on your guidelines, i.e. team cooperation and such, are games with ranked matchmaking in which you cannot choose who you play with. so saying 'i don't play with 12 year olds' is fucking retarded. it IS a feature. just about everyone in this thread doesn't care that it's not full-time. if you want to talk to your friends while you're all playing seperate games, there's a solution for that. it's called a "phone." or "skype." EVEN MORE IMPORTANT is what nintendo game are you really looking at playing online in which you would really need to have chat? or that would even make it a better experience? the last thing i'd want added on to smash brothers or mario kart online is the ability for the people i'm playing against to bitch at me through the tv while i play. the flaming culture that voice chat has created far outweighs the good that it's done, and nintendo may not actually know this, but making it restrictively difficult to set up actually does make online gaming safer and more pleasant of an experience, gameplay wise. "i don't like voice chat because it means other people can harass me when i don't want them to. thus, it would be just as well if it wasn't there at all." the fact that can exist and have a quarter million views, and has nearly 5,000 likes, is disgusting. and why everyone here is fine with voice chat ceasing to exist.
  10. it is an option. and it's a good thing that it's not universally implemented. this way the only time people will use it is when they really want to be able to talk with their friends while they play. which is, interestingly enough, the rationale for online chat in games.
  11. frankly in the modern era i cannot remember a game in which voice chat made my experience better. in nearly every case where it was implemented it was markedly a hassle and a stressor. the idea of voicechat is great but honestly so many games would be better off without it.
  12. CONGRATULATIONS to the guy who did that box art. that looks mighty fine.
  13. i like fighting games in general but to say that mvc3 is a poor game just isn't true. you can say 'i don't enjoy this game' but it's straight up just not a bad game. that's like calling ocarina of time a bad game and then being indignant when someone tells you you're wrong. there are plenty of people in the fighing game community who don't like x-factor, or just don't like playing the game, but you will find NO one who says 'yeah, capcom really fucked up with that one.' because they didn't. if you don't like the style of gameplay, fine. say so. but don't say 'this is an awful game' because it's not. 'this is an awful game' is a qualitative statement. 'i don't like this game at all' is an opinion. stick to the latter. plenty of games in this thread we can all agree were bad, or at the very least not good. this isn't one of them.
  14. the reason no one will agree with you is because you don't have any good reason for it if is what you call 'barebones' or 'lackluster' then it's kind of hard for me to understand how you think any fighting games are good at all. compared to sf4 or the alpha series or any other 2d fighting game, this is faster and gives you infinitely more freedom to do what you want.
  15. really? i always liked josh best personally
  16. i can almost see what you're trying to say... but that's a really dumb comparison. one is awesomely tricky/rewarding gameplay that is some of the best on any system, and one is being reckless and putting you in a position to kill people/yourself, with no reward.
  17. 'brawl taunts called it gay, i'm just quoting them clearly i'm not using gay in a derogatory way because someone else did it first' good thinking we all totally believe you
  18. take my word for it don't start with crowbar. logic and facts are useless against him. unless you like being frustrated it's not worth your time.
  19. why don't they just call up nintendo and be like 'hey do you guys want banjo kazooie back?' and they'll be like hellz yeah
  20. also, BY THE WAY, since this double standard seems to go completely un-talked about all the time, just about every 'first party' game on a sony or microsoft system is actually just published by sony or microsoft, and developed by an aquired developer. nintendo is really the only hardware company with consistent, significant in-house software development.
  21. the thing you haven't been doing. and you're not stating your opinion, you're stating things as fact and then when someone criticizes you you're putting up the straw man "oh it's just my opinion why u mad bro" which is really silly.
