  1. so this comes out in america today right
  2. i want it but i have no use for it seeing as far cry 3 will definitely not run on my laptop that i have right now. oh desktop how i miss you
  3. Here's an important question. Will the deluxe version be a limited-time-only type thing? or will you be able to buy both forever?
  4. good luck getting to 1.5 million with poor grammar and bad artwork, that's what i think.
  5. I still enjoy it when I have the time but lately that's been pretty much never It's a lot more fun when I don't have to tell myself 'okay you have 20 minutes left to go so finish up'
  6. this i thought echoes was the worst of the series honestly. not bad by any means but not as good as 1 or 3
  7. wasn't the original ninja gaiden 3 really really bad though?
  8. from unboxing impressions places people are getting a much stronger feel of separation from the wii than i think most people were giving it credit for which makes me pretty excited
  9. what a good show. someday i'ma buy all the box sets
  10. so i just bought project x when i have the time to open it up i'll give you guys a rundown
  11. i personally feel like this is an idea that looks good on paper, but when you finally see in action seems to not work as well. fire emblem is a primarily handheld game because it lends itself to a handheld playstyle: you can pick it up and play for short periods of time, sprite characters look good on the squared field, and the fighting, while strategically interesting, isn't super flashy. however, when you put it on console it requires you to do some things you don't have to on handheld, like put it in nice 3d polygons, render the map, add more visual flash to the game. i personally think it also slows the pace of the game down in that when you sit down at your console you're not likely to play for a few minutes at a time, but instead an hour or half an hour. now, i do this with the new fire emblem on 3ds and it works fine, i enjoy it that way too. it just seems to me that having it on console doesn't add much to the formula, and potentially takes away some of the elements of charm, such as texted cutscenes (generally a no-no in today's console generation) and 2d sprites. though i could see them being able to do some cool things with the wii u gamepad to add to the gameplay. who knows?
  12. so to your earlier point... completely different is code for 'i didn't make it so i know nothing/care nothing about it.' not that it's not canon. there's nothing that says it's not before fusion. and he specifically says it's part of the metroid timeline. so yeah. a nintendo developer's pride does not make the prime series non-canon. it just makes him upset that someone else did a better job with his baby than he did. sucks for him but that's how it goes sometimes.
  13. there's a link i'd like to see. and if you link me to the interview with sakamoto i'm just going to laugh because if you read the real interview it's completely different than the poorly translated version. and yes i have read it
  14. it's a lot easier to say that other m will never be considered part of the canon. which is also a lot likelier to be true
  15. i see your thought process but those are two games, pretty much nothing else ever capitalized on it like those did. it's an untapped paradigm, if not completely new. if it's brought to the mainstream in a constructive fashion, i think it will be game-changing (no pun intended) especially to in-home multiplayer, which desperately needs it. i don't wish the days of internet gaming to end, but i really hope that 4 player multiplayer doesn't become irrelevant, as it increasingly has been lately.
  16. clearly you never played four swords adventures, or crystal chronicles
  17. someone explain to me the appeal of dragon quest it just seems like final fantasy but less serious. and with job systems. i'm sure what it seems like to me is completely wrong so someone correct me
  18. it only takes one second to break something. statistically speaking it wasn't likely to happen in one day but that certainly doesn't mean it didn't get forcefully broken. it's pretty reasonable to be highly doubtful nintendo would put out hardware that doesn't work well. nintendo, snes, n64, game boy, game boy color, game boy advance, gamecube, ds, wiimote (though say what you will about waggle) and classic controller, and 3ds all have well working, functional, durable controls.
  19. if it's like how the n64 felt then it's likely from the same cause; violent use. as everyone is saying, in the past few years who's seen a controller on a demo machine that actually works well?
  20. how can you not understand lucasarts is still making the movie just like pixar still makes their own movies, and marvel clearly makes their own movies. disney is NOT the ea of moviemakers because when they buy studios they're like 'okay go do what you're good at and make money for us' instead of being like 'okay so take all of your history, shit on it and make me a call of duty game'
  21. this is quite actually the best post, or part of a post, i've seen in ages. i respect this person.
  22. disney buying things doesn't bother me at all. neither pixar nor marvel have dropped in quality, and it gives those two franchises much more money to work with. anyone being like 'boo hoo evil disney empire' needs to point to an instance where disney has *truly* spoiled an outside franchise. making sequels is pretty common, so if you didn't like them whatever, but acting like it's disney's fault is pretty far fetched off of no evidence. people seem not to realize disney acquired pixar before they made the original cars, or the incredibles, or finding nemo. and especially before up. disney is also the reason for the new tron legacy, and wreck it ralph, which everyone here seemed to jizz their pants over.
  23. i cannot remember hearing a single good thing about this game from a member of the gaming press. not one. most importantly the people at giant bomb were essentially like 'yeah this game sucks' which sells me. they play it and then they talk while playing, and the entire time they were like 'what? okay.. i guess..' and it really does look completely pointless. get hit/hit someone enough times to charge up your meter, and then use a super. getting hit really has no consequence until it's a super. until then who cares?
