  1. I visit OCRemix every once in a while, and today it occurred to me that it would be pretty sweet - for me personally - to have a little play-button next to each entry in the small list on the right hand side of the frontpage. It could even continue playing down the list as the songs finish. Maybe this would discourage people from discovering the written text about each song? I don't know. Just throwing this out there. I'll let you guys decide whether or not it's a good idea.
  2. I think it's finished. I think I'll submit it to OCRemix today or tomorrow. Edit: Finally submitted, as "Seagull Sonata"
  3. I love the original tune. Your take on it is pretty cool. Mixing in the original elements in a good way. Pretty nice balance.
  4. Quite well done. Good sonic balance. Not very familiar with the source, but must have heard it at some point. Big fan of Rom di Prisco's NFS-tracks.
  5. Soundcloud Link: Stickerbush Symphony WIP I tried to keep it mostly acoustic, but ended up adding a bunch of stuff as usual. I think of this as mostly finished, except for tweaks to the sound and redoing/adding some of the elements at the end, when it sort of takes off. Source tune here, for reference: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5IUXyzqrZsw
  6. Thanks for all the great feedback, duders. Much appreciated!
  7. Did an update to this. Leads are more completely. Tune is taking form. Might just scrap the vocals next time. Maybe use them for another tune.
  8. Source: Remix (wip): http://soundcloud.com/mordi-1/alibi-sooner-or-later-wip Vocals are a bit out of place. It'll probably either end up being without vocals, or have the arrangement completely changed to fit with the usual verse, refrain, verse setup.
  9. A futuristic/electronic/funky/synth tune "composed" by myself. http://mordi.ziphoid.com/data/music/work_in_progress/funky_track.mp3 The lead-arrangement is a rough around the edges, and it's not a very complete song yet. It's like a prototype or demo of sorts.
  10. Very nice piece! I'm not familiar with the original. It would be nice to know what sound libraries was used for this, as I am on the lookout for good orchestral sounds at the moment!
  11. This tune is one of the more popular to remix, actually. You're just looking for it in the wrong place! http://remix.kwed.org/index.php?search=karate http://amigaremix.com/remixes/search/karate
  12. That would be sweet. One of my first posts on this forum was actually a request for remixes of the Little Nemo soundtrack. That was in 2007 I think.
  13. This is one place to get them. -> http://www.acapellas4u.co.uk/lists/acapellas4u_list.txt I'm sure you can figure out the rest.
  14. Pretty sweet mixing as usual. I like the idea. This could very well have been an 80's hit at the time!
  15. You should post your mix here, or at least parts of it. It's hard to say what your problem is in this case. It could just be that your mix has some nasty overtones that need slight EQing. Maybe some instruments just need a touch of compression. Who knows? You haven't described the problem specifically, other than "it sounds bad".
  16. Not far from finished this one. Tristesse @ SoundCloud
  17. Didn't see your posts until yesterday. Was inspired to do some more work on the track. Here's an updated version. I'ts not radically changed. I touched up the mixing a bit by redoing a lot of the EQ, and adding a few compressors. I think it sounds a bit clearer. The part near the end is a bit different. I always thought that was the weakest part, but now it sounds better to me. I also came up with a name for it. Forest_Frolic.mp3 (wip) Also, I never realized how many hits these threads got! That's quite astonishing.
  18. Pretty cool track. Funky feel. I don't like the triangle-y lead that comes in at about 00:36. I would rather hear it switched out with something else. How about a marimba like in the original? Otherwise pretty cool. Too short though!
  19. It's already a solid track! This definitely has potential to be something outstanding. btw, I've liked your tracks ever since I first heard your niece's voice in "Bust This Groove '81".
  20. Sure. The deadline is so far off that I'll have lots of time to work on an entry. I'll just need to find a fitting source.

  21. Here's the final version: http://soundcloud.com/mordi-1/mordi-the-great-bath
  22. Cool, thanks. I'm not sure why the pirate-theme came along. When I added the percussion it just sounded like a pirate-theme to me, so I added some accordions and some sound effects to round it out. By the way, uploaded a further improved version. Subdued the bass some (I haven't listened with my subwoofer yet, though) and made the percussion more punchy. If you compare them, I think the new one sounds much better. Link: The Great Bath.mp3
