  1. Yeah, this one was good. I didn't LOL until the message at the very end (about SSBB), unfortunately.
  2. I feel almost the same way you do Jaybell, and I've had the game since midnight launch. The only thing I can't accept is Olimar. *Puts up brick wall to defend against Atma*. I know people say he's good. I know they say that only true Brawl masters can put him to good use. I just don't see it. Everytime I play with him, I'm miserable. Now Lucas, Ike, Toon Link, Ganondorf, and ROB? They feel right when I use them. I feel like I'm in control of the match. I'm the source of impending doom, and not the other way around. Maybe I just need to give it time and return again. Sonic's a funny one. I like him, and I'm going to use him frequently. However, he just doesn't have the best moves. I'm not talking about his forward B and down B, as those do actually serve different purposes. I'm a little annoyed with him because he doesn't have many moves to get KOs with. I'm slowly learning that I need to get my enemies' % up just a tad higher than usual, then I can KO them. I'm not used to playing that kind of offense, but I have to admit that his speed makes it worthwhile. But he's a piece of poo when it comes to SSE. I even have trouble getting thru brick blocks sometimes. XD
  3. Fine. I hate game exploits that most people can't use and even more people can't use effectively. But I don't speak for everyone. I'm not saying its cheating or glitching, or whatever, but I just don't like it.
  4. Get that stuff out of here. We play legitimately here. No B-sticking/wavebouncing/cheapglitchtactics here! Am I right?
  5. Heh, that's odd. Sakurai was specifically trying to go for less chaotic stage design this time around. I think he succeeded, for the most part. I prefer a balanced mix of both types. Simple stages give you a chance to show your true fighting skills. Chaotic stages break up the monotony and usually have fun mechanics thrown in (see Wario's stage).
  6. Lol, yeah, that wouldn't be good. After watching more than 3, the speed of his ramblings begins to drown out the humor contained within. Too much to handle in large doses.
  7. This one was a little funnier then his recent reviews have been. I liked the apocalyptic DJ.
  8. Well, never mind, I guess. It just seemed intimidating to me, lol!
  9. JCvgluvr is a combination of single-letter symbols and "Lover" shortened. The capitals JC stand for Jesus Christ. Being a born-again Christian, I wanted to display that in my username. I put it in caps since God, Jesus, the Bible (etc) are always in caps. Besides, I wanted to show Him honor and respect. That's also why it comes first. The lowercase "vg" stands for VideoGames, if you didn't already guess. I've loved games since I was in diapers, and I'm posting in a website related to videogames, right? The reason its lowercase and comes after JC indicates their lower priority in my life. God's got to come first, you know? And then comes "luvr". I made the name up myself when I was creating my original Xbox gamertag. I've used it for every forum and gamertag since. People just call me JC for short.
  10. My playing style seems to have been altered for Brawl. In Melee, Falco, Marth, Link, DK, and Capt. Falcon were my mains, with CF being my best. But its like they've all been neutered when it comes to me and Brawl. Falco's spike is a lot harder to pull off, and I can't dominate in the air with him anymore since he just uses drill attacks now instead of concrete hits. Link used to have a good air game, a great d-air, and a fantastic up-b with deadly propulsion to the side! Now, his air game is altered for the worse, in my case, he has a more difficult d-air, and only a mediocre up-b with no deadly propulsion. How disappointing... And Capt. Falcon? Its a shame. Difficult-to-use knee, freakish, new Falcon Punch, and less speed. As, I was saying, my play style now differentiates, because I'm using slow characters now. I wouldn't have dreamed of using Melee's Ganondorf. But now, I'm gravitating towards him! Lucas? He seemed like a Ness clone to me. But if that's the case, why is my game great with him and poor with Ness? And my best main? Ike, of all people. Even though his slowness looked to be a turn-off, I knew I'd like him the moment he appeared on the Dojo. And boy was I right! I simply rock with the guy! If I ever get around to Wi-Fi, I'm taking him with me!
  11. He hasn't been able to tickle my funny bone lately...Is that his fault or mine? Regardless, the last line is almost always funny!
  12. Sorry, but MKS doesn't impress me. It looks like a re-do for MK 64. A great game, but it doesn't need to be redone... About MKWii, does anyone hope they go back to ground-based blue shells? With the flying ones in DD and DS, they just head straight for first place. The grounded ones had the added effect of wiping out anyone one who got in their way! Much more helpful, IMO.
  13. Dang, I forgot about Number 23. That's the only movie to drive me to insane levels of paranoia! Even before I saw the movie, I was convinced that the number 54 is following me. N23 just made it 23 to 54 times worse...XD
  14. Vertigo and Psycho are good suspense films with adequate plot twists. Butterfly Effect was a really good one, I forgot about that! Forget the Village, piece of garbage...
  15. Yeah, that's what I mean, although I don't see the need for the snarkyness in your reply... Anyway, in the many tv shows, movies, and games I've seen featuring time travel in their plot, it always happens like this: One person goes back in time and changes the past, and then gets stuck in your time loop. Their actions are only possible because of previous actions in the past. But those previous actions are only possible because they went back in time in the first place. Its a paradox (if I'm using the correct time travel terminology). *Donnie Darko spoilers* Donnie Darko doesn't do that. Donnie goes back in time once, fixes stuff, then dies, meaning he can't go back to do the stuff he just did. But for some reason, everything's okay. No cataclysmic apocalypse, no black hole to rip the universe apart, no nothing! I was quite impressed. That's not what happened in the What If machine episode of Futurama, lol.
  16. MK:DS was the best Mario Kart, IMO, but MK64 is my favorite. Go nostalgia? Ah well. Cheap AI and snaking need to be attended to before I allow the flood waters that is my hype gush forth from within me (like I already have with Brawl).
  17. Wow. There are so many games included in this thread that have no business being here. Sonic Adventure DX I can understand, maybe (Big sucked "big" time). Maybe even Sonic Adventure 2 Battle and Mario Kart Double Dash (even though I really liked 'em). But any of the Metroid Primes, Resident Evil 4, and Super Mario Sunshine is going too fricken far! I almost gouged my eyes out! And don't tell me to respect other's opinions. I don' wanna! There are other games that I didn't mention that also don't deserve the disrespect. Anyhoo, my bad games would be Pikman (lol irony, just not my type of game), Pacman Adventure, Clayfighters (my friend brought his copy over to show me what he liked when he was a kid), THUG 2, and Tony Hawk's Project 8 (this one convinced me to swear off of Tony Hawk games for the rest of my life). EDIT: I KNEW I was forgetting a game! Red Steel put a bad taste in my mouth...
  18. Wow. Didn't expect to see the man in person! On the other hand, I didn't find this one too funny. Oh well, Yahtzee's face is enough for me.
  19. Second on Fight Club, and whatever number placement for Donnie Darko. "Why are you wearing that bunny suit?" "Why are you wearing that man suit?" Donnie Darko is the first example I can think of that doesn't use what I call the "time changing circle theory". Anyone know what I'm talking about?
  20. So, you've decided on what to do for the rest of your life? Good for you! At least you'll have something to pass on to your kids! Its not like you'll be able to listen to all those songs before you die, now is it?
  21. Ah yes. This one was pretty funny. Can't wait to show my friends when they come up in a couple days. About Yahtzee being soft on Half-Life, He's personally admitted to being infatuated with Valve and its employees. He shows it well, yes?
  22. It's not that, I assure you. The only similarity between SMF and SSB, is Mario uses guns, and many game universes are being mixed together. Now, the game mechanics are indeed completely opposite, as SSB is a fighting game, and SMF is a platformer, with a little gun action thrown in. Alright, Tensei-San. Since you're itching for a fight so bad, I'll pick apart your first post and glean as much truth from it as I can. It won't be easy, but I'll give it my best shot. But I'm only gonna do it 1 TIME. Okay, no more, no less. Here we go: The only reason I talked about supporters, was to dismantle someone else's attack. Take a look around this topic. There are many trolls here (not unlike yourself) who are making it pretty clear that this fangame is **** to them. I don't give a crap. All I'm saying, is that it goes both ways. And FYI, there were 3-5 supporters, in this topic. Can you taste your foot in your mouth yet? I hope so. Who's talking about hacks? When I made this topic, I gave it the title of "fangame". Do you see "hack" in the topic title? I don't. I've loved Mario ever since I was in diapers back in '89 or so. That was waaaaaaaay before he shot anything short of fireballs. Got any other stereotypes for me to fit in? Nerd perhaps? Maybe geek? Dude with no life who lives in his mother's basement? Go ahead, throw me a curveball. Its pretty useless, since we're on a friggen' gaming message board, but I'm game. I'm only hear to educate the positive, after all. Names and hostility don't phase me in the slightest!
  23. Just to avoid confusion, Super Mario Fusion is the complete opposite of ^that, okeydokey? Also, for the record, there are many supporters of this fangame, so ^that is mistaken. Its just harder to impress people around here, that's all. Oh well, no use being bitter, I suppose. For that one guy who asked, I don't like Judgespear as an individual (only because I don't know him/her personally). I just like his/her work. Had anyone made such a phenomenal fangame besides him/her, I would have adored them instead.
  24. Some of you are like "All I said is I'm not interested" "I didn't say its a bad game". I'm perfectly aware and fine with this. I couldn't possible care less if Super Mario Fusion doesn't interest you. But there are people in this very topic who keep pointing out that there are tons of better hacks/fangames out there that do it better. But then they don't post proof, and they continue to downright berate this game, when it doesn't deserve it. They ARE people saying "this game sucks, its gimmicky" and they have no right to, unless they know what they're talking about. What is okay: Saying something doesn't look interesting, and you don't want to try it (AKA, opinion). What is NOT okay: Saying something is horrible, and doesn't deserve your attention. Until you've given it the time of day, you can't say that. You won't be taken seriously (AKA, serious argument/attack). Again, my prime focus isn't the jaded posters in here that put a bullseye on my butt and rip into me. What I care about, is the chance to show some guy that there's a great fangame out there (which I've been made aware of is my opinion, or something) and he might like it. Then, maybe he'll try the beta, love it, and make some of Judgespear's hard work pay off. I think he deserves it. I'm not alone either, as plenty of people have gotten past this "artwork" and "purist, anti- Mario + Gun" bullcrap. Arek, I'm not sure what I should do about your strange fascination with "keeping me in line", so I'm not even going to bother. Have a nice day, or something...
