You can either restart the game and replay the two hours it takes to get there... Or you can send in your SD card... by mail... and get it back in two-three weeks. Good job Nintendo 10/10. God forbid you just email your .sav data.

When I was a kid playing Majora's Mask the first time, the aliens scared the hell out of me (because infinite respawning enemies you have to defend from kinda scared me at that point. also the music was creepy). In fact, one of them got to the barn and I saw Romani get abducted and in fear I shut the game off right there and didn't touch it for two days. My heart still gets pumping very fast whenever i play through that side-quest. Good times, everyone. Good times.

You can actually sequence break the hell out of Echoes, as people are finding out. You can avoid having the Ing steal your items, and start with the bombs, double jump, and missiles, and a lot more. Making large chunks of the game skippable. The Infinite Speed Glitch is in Prime, Prime 2, AND Corruption. Heck, people HAVE sequence broke Corruption so that when you go to the bridge you fight Rundas at (and there are those pirates that try to build a tower there), you fight Rundas AND the pirates all at once. Shit's crazy.

I just don't know about getting the Prime Trilogy... I mean, I played and beat Metroid Prime 1 and 2 a shitton of times. Prime 3, I'm still working on a second playthrough (since I liked it least, but it's still good). I mean, owning all three games, I never really had a huge urge to buy the Trilogy. I guess I should convince my older brother to get it, since he only beat Prime 3 and loved it after failing to make it through the other two, but still, he'd probably say "I'll just play it on the GC". I actually liked the GC controls more than the Wii controls.

If you look through the remix forum, Random Hero did a symphonic mix of Running Hell, Cave Story, and Egg Corridor (ruined). Hasn't been approved yet, but I hope it is. It's fucking fantastic.

My thoughts when I saw the ship date when I pre-ordered Metroid Other M.

Every game that's on the Wii gets a particular bashing from Yahtzee since he hates nintendo. On the other end you have Game Overthinker, who thinks FPSes are so terrible and that Nintendo can do no wrong. In other words, a chode.

While I certainly think Other M recycled too much from Fusion, I don't think you can say stuff like "fire level ice level" is indicative of total lack of creativity; I mean, Super Mario Galaxy 1 & 2 had those, and in the latter, I am SURE no one could say they're out of ideas.

Yeah unfortunately some folks just don't share that respectful love. Which in ways is understandable when Team Ninja gives Sammy such a fine ass.

Not as bad as he makes it out to be. I enjoyed it (and once you get the ability to skip cutscenes, you enjoy it a whole lot more). However, I am FAR from trying to discourage jokes at the game's expense; the plot SHOULD be ridiculed to the point where it will be a long time before Sakamoto is brave enough to try THIS again. So I thought it was pretty funny.

I actually really enjoyed the inclusion of nightmare. Remember, when you fight it in Fusion, the thing is all beaten to hell and half-broken. And of course, at the end of the game, his corpse (as well as Ridley's) are missing from the Bottle Ship.

What they should have done is in the quarantine they would have said "Samus it looks like using the hyper beam short circuited all your equipment; we'll be working on modifying your upgrades now" or something. Then on the Bottle Ship "Samus we'll be trying to send you the data for your upgrades now that we've got them finalized (or one by one); seek out the necessary terminals." Gamers would have been "yeah that's kinda silly and a rip off of Fusion but I'm ok with it." And while Super Metroid doesn't have a 'plot', it does a GREAT job of environmental narrative. It DOES tell a story effectively without a single word need spoken.

These are all good posts, and I wish I had something to add right now, but since i'm tired, really tired, I'll say this: on any playthrough after your first, you can skip cutscenes. And like magic, this game gets so much better.

Also someone needs to tell him that Metroid fans like multiple endings. Even if those endings are just samus in different outfits. Just give us SOMETHING.

not much- If I don't like a type of song, hearing it on OCR won't make me download it. I'll say "That's nice," and move on. And I think a lot of techno/by-the-books electronica lends itself to genericness, so the less of it the better, for my pallete- I've heard very few unique techno mixes, here and elsewhere.

Probably because they haven't seriously advertised a Metroid game since Super Metroid.

Like I said, Fusion's criticisms resulted in Zero Mission. Now think of the mild criticisms Fusion got (which Fusion is the third best game in the series, in my opinion), and see what would happen if you apply that to Other M's criticisms. Zero Mission kept the great things about Fusion and made it better. Like the Happy Mask Salesman, I have to believe.... Believe.... Plus, like all Metroid games, this is selling like crap, so it'll be once again a good long time before we see another Metroid game anyway. Though I'm hoping for a 3DS iteration... In fact, IF THERE IS a 3DS Metroid, I will buy a 3DS right away, hook line and sinker. When you're loyal to a series... Heck, my brother got our first DS because the new Advanced Wars was coming out on it.

Like I said earlier, I am almost SURE that we will get a Zero-Mission esque game in the mold of Other M following this. And we the fans will be happy, since it will probably be handled with more finesse. Also, that Game Overthinker video makes me more and more frustrated the more I think about it. I left comments on there as "Rothello" which basically sums up 1) my likes and dislikes of the game, and 2) how the Game Overthinker has essentially become a big piece of biased shit.
