  1. I begin to hear some clipping when the drums and strings start coming in. It's a nice arrangement, but a bit annoying to the ears (well that's because I'm using headphones. XD). Try getting some higher quality samples.
  2. The samples are bad quality because they sound just like the game. I've never played this game, but I don't need to to tell what sounds like game music and what doesn't. It sounds like he just put a drum beat, with moderate MIDI-ish stuff to go along with it. I can't be sure unless he provides a source. This is something you would find on OverLooked Remix. I'm not gonna go and say this isn't a good song... It's just too much of a joking around kind of song, it doesn't sound like something you would take seriously. If you have any doubts on that statement: This guy wasn't taking it too seriously.
  3. 0_0' ... 0_0 Edit: *ahem* ARE YOU FOR SERIOUS?! Edit again: ... I can't even tell what's from the original game audio and what's not. Your samples are horrible. That might've been a bit harsh my friend. I don't think this guy was trying to make a rearrangement, I think he's just trying to be funny. That's not something I would enjoy. Come back when you're serious about making a rearrangement.
  4. That's the first time I've ever seen a critique with chord suggestions...
  5. ... That's why you never say "Final Mix before submission." You never know when something could sound better. If everyone says it sounds good, then you can submit, but never be sure that you're done till you're done.
  6. Update 3: Choir fixed (a little), Prime 1 section revised. Added transition into final chorus. I am very afraid that this is gonna leap over the 6 MB limit... Does it sound like too much reverb?
  7. That's a great arrangement right there, I'm really liking the intro. XD I can't really see much difference, I was only skimming it for obvious differences. Sorry, but I can tell you you have something good.
  8. It's coming out good, but the synth at 0:23 is kinda annoying... you might wanna turn it down a little. Also, you're using MIDI-ish kind of sounds... try getting some better synths. And for now it's too short. Expand, add some more stuff.
  9. I'm putting this remix on hold for my Metroid Prime ReMIx http://www.ocremix.org/forums/showthread.php?t=24245
  10. Grr, I can't play you guys because I don't have XBL Gold! CURSE YOU MICROSOFT AND YOUR PAID SUBSCIPTIONS!!! I wish we had the PS3 version so we could just play over PSN. XD
  11. I actually have no problem with the choir, and the lead melody. I agree with you on the Prime 1 theme, when I went to the source I immediately recognized it as a 6/8 so I said "I'm gonna have to change this." what's there is currently a placeholder, it could sound VERY nice if changed to 4/4 I just need to do it, that's all. XD I agree on everything else though, If I use a pitch bend I can make the choir sound more realistic (if my Fruityloops doesn't work with me and decides to produce a totally bad sound I'll just leave the choir alone) And on the Prime 1 melody when I first heard what I put down it sounded like something at a ballroom or something! (XD Way too cheerful for this remix) or perhaps I'll keep it in 6/8... I'm not sure what I should do. XD Shariq actually liked this one better because the "rhythm" locks. Pay attention, the drumbeat is hand in hand with the melody. And the first melody is from Prime 2 then it's Prime 3, then 2, then 1 (I have to change one because one sounds like something from a ballroom.) They're all from the game there's nothing original here (my drumbeat is original and I also played with the choir intro a little to make it sound interesting. I used the hammered dulcimer for the guitar-ish sound. Almost like the intro for his Yellow Valkyrie mix) I'm actually surprised you like "Rain Dancing At The Spirit Temple" better. Maybe when I'm done with this I'll give Rain Dancing another look, and perhaps maybe even restart it (everything is composed of separate parts I didn't make everything "lock together".) But seeing how everything is pretty much the same, maybe I'll just have to mess around with the drum beats with that one. But enough about that one! I have a WIP thread for that one, just scroll down. *RAISHIN MAHHAKEN* Seeing as how Shariq used it alone in Yellow Valkyrie's intro I don't think OCR would mind.
  12. Yeah I get what you're saying. But maybe one day you should start remixing you'll get it done faster with practice. Like this http://neblixsaber.googlepages.com/MetroidTitleTheme.mp3 I did this in like two or three hours. You're never gonna get good at remixing if you don't try it. Start moving. If you don't move, nothing happens.
  13. Updated: Much longer and I incorporated all the menu themes. Hehe, thanks! UPDATE 2: Added a bassline and fixed some other stuff.
  14. First of all, make it not sound like two songs layered over each other, and try making your melody a little darker sounding (that may be the solution)
  15. This is a remix of all 3 Metroid Prime Title Theme. Source Prime 2: (skip to 0:20)Source Prime 3: (skip to 0:30)Source Prime 1:
  16. I'm seriously not lying I am really good with Jin and arcade mode on hell didn't feel hellish at all. (Well except V-13 with her stupid swords that pop up behind you. Took me 5 continues to beat her) You normally see people just spamming the freeze button and the right stick for easy schmeasy bashing but I actually figured out Jin's combos and his strategy. EDIT: w00t at Octorok (+200) forum status!!!
  17. Actually I won't care. Jin or no Jin, V 13 or no V 13 YOU CANNOT BEAT ME IN THIS GAME... MWAHAHAH No but seriously I don't care who I fight... whoever it is JUST FIGHT THEM. Haha you think grabbing with JIn is fun?! You haven't seen ANYTHING. XD You should see me on arcade mode I just keep spamming freeze combos and special moves! I couldn't even tell if I was on Hell Mode seeing as the enemy couldn't even so much as even walk without gettin' slashed.
  18. Like a flute? I wouldn't say so for a piano, because it could just be a bunch of pianos playing different parts of one thing. Same goes for anything... or not? Is there something I'm not understanding? Is it like 64th notes on a piano being played rapidly in the same velocity? Is that what you mean by inhuman/unrealistic?
  19. Well I understand but the "too many hands/fingers" thing I disagree with. It shouldn't matter how many fingers. If it's good and done properly, it shouldn't have to be held back because it can't be done in real life...
  20. Oh, well, okay. :/ It kinda feels empty without a drumbeat, because all that's there is just thump... thump... thump... thump... I just think it would sound better with drums. (I guess that's kinda subjective)
  21. PRODUCTION [X] Generic/cliche sound choices [X] Drums have no energy [X] Mixing is muddy (eg. too many sounds in the same range) STRUCTURE [X] Not enough changes in sounds (eg. static texture, not dynamic enough) [X] Too repetitive [X] Too short [X] Abrupt ending PERSONAL COMMENTS (positive feedback, specifics on checklist criticisms, any other thoughts) Well first of all you need to provide a source material... Also, that melody does not match the background at all (it sounds like random notes and random notes are not good) You need to make that melody work with the background. If you don't know what I mean, then send me a MIDI of your remix and I'll change it to show you what I mean. As for drums... I didn't even hear drums. Definitely NOT good. You need a drum beat... Also it's repetitive (One thing, then another thing with that thing, then one thing with those two things, then another thing with those two things, then one with all of those things, etc.) At 2:16 is very short and you don't have much freedom for what you want to do with it. The ending is to abrupt and even though that MIGHT be okay you can't even loop it so it's NOT okay.
  22. Snappleman crowned emperor would be the worst. Sure what he says is true... but still, there's a greater chance of losing confidence than actually getting something out of him... (don't even ask me to name one time someone lost confidence over him. *points at self*) Anyways, to my question. What does "Unrealistic" sequencing mean?
  23. Edit your first post and "Go Advanced". If it's just a project you're working on it's fine. You don't have to change the title. I just thought it was an OCRemix Project, that's all. (In which case you don't just remake the songs with different instruments) But hey maybe when you're done you can start an official OCRemix Project for it.
  24. Oh well, okay. Well the way I see it is: "Who cares?" They're characters, no matter how many people play them they are meant to used. Anyways, I guess Jin is like a Ken...
  25. I think don't Jin and Ken are comparable... they have different moves and work in totally different ways. Ken throws hadouken and shoryuken one after the other Jin freezes the opponent and slashes him away. comboing tatsumakis and hadoukens.
