What is your dell's motherboard? does it support the new dual cores? if not, then you may need to upgrade more than your cpu.

Mega Man 2 - Wily 1 -- For You - Vox Mix

Awesome lyrics. Really. I was hesitant about the really long line regarding pens and prose but it worked well. I didn't mind the vibrato (i guess this term applies to vocals), it kept things interesting, especially during the acapella section. This does leave me wanting more, though. It's probably the length of the acapella which is starving me of the beat/bass/stuff... your voice comes out pretty well throughout though, so I'm not at all disappointed. Not sure what I'm trying to say.. something like... "moar plz"? -

This makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Excuse me, I have to go play some Manhunt 2 now. -
Don't think you did bad or that you weren't better. Your story was good, and I liked it better than your poem (more fleshed out, though the poem was very concise). It's just... everyone was so good. For me, voting was almost all about what I liked most and not what was deserving based on merit because... these were all great submissions with few to no serious issues that would really turn me against a piece.

HTML/XHTML help needed (alignment issue)

And let's not forget that webkit/KHTML, gecko, Presto, Trident.. and all the other different layout engines available display pages differently. so much for "standards" ... -
ReMixer & Composer Merged into "Artist", Change Near-Complete

Yes, that's true. honestly not sure why I posted that either, because I really kinda knew/guessed that was why it wouldn't be addressed. I'll just say... I'm posting just to run further tests on the vBulletin upgrade... yeah, that... (backs away inconspicuously). -

I will have to note these suggestions. Vertical alignment was never something I could do well either (and I use divs exclusively too :/). woo, collective learning. -

I was trying out the lyrics myself... wasn't sure how you were going to fit 'em. It'll probably be including some variation i think, but I'm sure you'll figure it out in any case (and that it'll be pleasant) Here's another thought: I sort of had your song stuck in my head and i started replacing the lyrics with sounds like "Ba ba da, ba ba dee da" - similar to "Under Pressure"... just a thought. -

Wasn't quite tabs... more like.. "buttons". Using Chrome in Windows and it's the same for me as it is for AnSo (not surprisingly). The fix should be just a minor addition to CSS and perhaps a little extra addition to the vbulletin html generation code. -

I'll try to tackle some lyrical criticism. What I will say is: Nice job on fitting this verse (especially the bold parts) into the song without it sounding... really corny. I'm REALLY looking forward to hearing how you're going to fit the next verse(s) into this melody-thing. (And perhaps even inspiring, makin me wanna keep working on some project of my own.) I do like how you included "their lies", but you rush the "us" and I'm not so sold on that... well, it's actually not that bad after I've listened to it a bit more. ...oh and, that's a really catchy chorus. "Just let it go / Secrets never show" - so smooth and awesome. Crap, so much for criticism, it's bordering on acclaim. Which, I guess, is a good thing, but won't necessarily help you improve this. Then again, "all feedback is appreciated," so... yeah. -
I agree w/drums issue. Dunno what the answer is...moving on. One little thing to consider maybe, to vary some things up: around 2:06-2:16 and 3:28-3:38, when that wide woodwind-like synth (shit you've got so many going on here I dunno what to call em lol) plays its motif/whatever (it goes I, II III I, II III I, II III V IV III II), all staccato... you could try experimenting with doing some of it in legato. Maybe the first time you present the motif to us, it could be legato, but the second time, staccato? or vice-versa? Or maybe, within each presentation of the motif, have the first repetition be legato / staccato, and the second repetition use the opposite? I just feel like, especially at the 2:00 mark, you're still building energy in the song, and staccato (to me) works better at sort of releasing energy or winding down. i like it. Edit: i just heard this part of the song in the source, and it starts legato, but when it does the V -> I down-step thing, it's staccato. hm...)

I've known people who used Vegas exclusively for making pvp videos... with some neat effects. I gave it a try for some gif animations, and I didn't find it all that fun; Final Cut is IMO easier. *** And in regards to just64helpin, I honestly don't think he was attacking your idea, but just having some fun with your original thread title... :/

Actually i'm fairly certain that when i took the SATs last year, they said they got rid of those analogies. And I don't remember seeing them. -
Maybe if the S were a little taller? The color scheme is awesome, but it just feels slightly off.

MOAR VIOLENCE!!111111111111 .. I meant, More violins. This piece could make use of more violins... (right) This was enjoyable. But a problem: the slashing sounds are clipping VERY BADLY. At least I think that's clipping. It sounds really bad.

ReMixer & Composer Merged into "Artist", Change Near-Complete
SoulinEther replied to djpretzel's topic in Announcements
I echo this sentiment. I think the new change is pretty neat, is logical (I've oft chosen "remixer" instead of "remix" and vice-versa) but that perhaps there should be some better way to tell composer work apart from remix work in the "Latest Remixes" thing, especially now that searching in "Artist" results in both composers and remixers. Perhaps by listing the Composer beneath the "date by remixer" thing? (or whatever. i imagine just listing composer would help with the whole not-having-to-write-a-ton-of-new-code problem..) Edit: not sure if you want bug reporting here, but I found a few issues, not sure if you've noted them and are planning on addressing em already or not but: It seems the redirection for remixers whose names in the old address format contained hyphens results in 404s http://www.ocremix.org/remixer/mike-mcgann/ http://www.ocremix.org/remixer/the-megas/ And the 404 page sidebar is not yet up-to-date. -

Finally, someone else who dislikes it when people use "Same difference." how irrelevant of me. Now if we're talking about differentiation... then it makes sense, but you'd have to add "iation" ............. but yes that is a merry-go-round or carousel. Alternatively, if you were weird like me, you'd call it "That one thing kids sit or stand upon while one pushes it, forcing it to spin around, in parks." Every time you needed to refer to it. Circumlocution ftw.
