  1. Ok, so if I understand this correctly: -if someone has been involved in the community for years through projects, competitions and discussions but isn't posted --> he/she's a worthless bloke. -if someone has one mix posted but never made any effort whatsoever to get involved into the community --> he/she rightfully deserves to be on the list. I'm not questioning your quest for high quality standards, but this makes the project look more like a celebrity rally than a community effort atm. You do realize that, denying someone's previous work clearly shows them you don't care about anything they did prior to YOUR project. i.e. showing that you don't really care about people, just about the prestige artist A or B will bring to your name as the album's director. That's quite condescending for someone who just admitted not knowing about the Shizz and only discovered FFVI, I quote: However, if you'd still: there's a 50%+ arrangement for 'Empire Gesthal' that's been sitting in your PM box for a couple days now. Cheers and best of luck to you and Rexy with this long overdue tribute to the pinacle of 16bit Final Fantasy.
  2. Nah, this actually is a great idea. I'll proly be up to contribute something later down the road. However, while exhaustive and informative, the OP is a bit too long. This will discourage some folks half-way through. Try synthetizing your thoughts in less sentences for clarity and maybe put the tracklist with who does what near the top. Btw, why isn't this posted in 'Recruit and Collaborate' instead of 'Requests'?
  3. My advice to you would be to reduce the tracklist only to the numbered FF songs, to keep things manageable. That way you can get a feel for what it's like directing an album and maybe even complete it in 2012. Please keep Tactics material out of a project that isn't dedicated to FF Tactics and uses its soundtrack as filler. Sakimoto fans (and me since he's my favorite composer) will thank you for it. With that out of the way, I'll be up to arrange the .Godspeed Mirby.
  4. Speaking of which: KNGI released 3 albums in 2011 (not counting AtW). These deserve some love as well.
  5. Sonic 2 is one of the best games on the system, hands down. And the music is just awesome. Excellent source from Binweasel. Freaking love Bahamut Lagoon and I'm a huge fan of Noriko Matsueda! Really hoping to find enough time to enter this round...
  6. Now I'm intrigued and certainly looking forward to that sir. Glad to have been able to contribute to OCC again this year, and I've enjoyed listening to this fifth volume. As usual, props to The Coop for gracing us with some wonderful sprite art on the album cover. It would be nice to have a 'readme' inside the archive with the tracklist and what songs were arranged. Just a thought. Anyway, congrats again to everyone involved.
  7. Just gonna leave this here: "But what about the spirit of Christmas during the holiday season?" you ask. No worries, Capcom got all Rockman fans covered: Yet another lovely demonstration from Capsule Computer on how to successfully rape both a great franchise AND its customers.
  8. ^ This. More love for Sega please ...and by that I mean moar remixes as well.
  9. Have a good one sir.
  10. If anyone can actually make that happen for BadAss volume 2, he/she/them will be the true hero(es) of mankind.
  11. I reckon that if you've been here long enough, you might know how the project system works. But for newcomers looking to join, this Official/Unofficial concept can be mighty confusing. The 'Recruit and Collab' section is fairly new, and not that many people are checking it. Maybe there could be two separate posts (one for each category) in their respective section?
  12. Yep, everything is A-OK now, much appreciated sir. Looking forward to this year's album.
  13. The tracklists for v2 and v3 are indeed fixed, but every song from these two volumes now redirects to a 404.
  14. ARMed and DANGerous is now up on VGMdb. Jade's backstory in the album writeup is a truly moving display of passion and fan commitment. A real inspiration for anyone aiming one day to direct such a project. *sheds manly tears*
  15. Forcing people to provide a MID file will instantly reduce the game list to titles popular enough to have been covered on sites like VGmusic.com. Obscure games coverage will most likely suffer from this choice, but paradoxically this might also solve the problem of attendance. We'll just have to hope for the best and see how it goes.
  16. Wait, this can't be right. ...ok, looks like the video description indeed features the following typo: Discretely replace that with PSX before fans catch up to it and start plundering your Berry Cave. ;DTrailer is fantastic as usual, Jose rocks the house. Wild HYPe!
  17. Well, that's too bad the PMM visual novel had to be cancelled, but you stuck till the end and that's what matters. And it shows: you've killed it man. Really captured the spirit of both the anime and Yuki Kajiura's work. Really good and versatile album right there. Mellow emotional pieces flirt with eerie unsettling tunes, while high energy rock share the stage with ethereal pads and uplifting world music for good measure. Dreams of Happiness just blew me away, reminding me at times of the Chrono Cross soundtrack and .Might I be so bold to ask what you used to make this piece? Was it live instrumentation? Also, some tracks reminded me of Biohazard, like for exemple when listening to 'My Oath', I can't help but hear . Same with 'Loss of my Heart' which reminded me of Credit Line from Biohazard 2. Not that it's a bad thing mind you. Anyway, I know how it feels to finally be able to share something you've been working on and had to keep under wraps. So congrats on the release, and again for an awesome job on this soundtrack Calum. It was a real treat to listen to.
  18. It's the acronym for 'Ancient Relic Machines'.
  19. Glad to see you getting involved into more community albums bro.

Now turn it up to eleven and show 'em how it's done! 8)

  20. Proly gonna give a shot to last round's source (from Warlords III). Sparse and challenging material to work with, should be fun.
  21. Not just dates, entire tracklists have been swapped between these two albums. vol.3 is vol.2 and vice versa. Additionally, all links (aside from OCC vol.4) are redirecting to the main site with a 'not found' message. All in all, minor fixes really. Please resub.
  22. Technically, Kojima was done with Metal Gear after the first one. But his former collegues convinced him to make MG2 Solid Snake, and it was a masterpiece. Later, when he said that he was gonna pass the rod to his team for MGS4, he received death threat from angry fans, which provided incentive to continue directing. So, not only this has already happened to Metal Gear, it will happen again, cause it's standard policy for mangas, animes, movies and videogames since the 80s. There is no compelling reason for Konami, or any big game company out there not to stretch a popular franchise and squeeze it dry with Hollywood-style sequelitis. Now on topic: armored Vamp wielding a freaking hi-frequency blade while battling Raiden on top of a moving train. Wait, what?
  23. All I can say is: cannot wait to see the front cover now. Critical EXCITE Hit!
