  1. Anything else than Mc Afee is fine, it's a friggin hog. Glad to hear that Norton has finally improved ressource-wise. I'll say it might be a good choice & maybe the most family-friendly of all paying AV. Kaspersky is definitely the most effective... as well as most agressive program. Configuration may be an issue if you're not computer savy though. Has anyone heard of VIPRE? It seems fairly new but very effective., dunno the details. Like Fireslash, I've used AVG on serveral machines, and it has always done what it was supposed to. And of course the brand-new Common Sense Pack is a must-have in 2009.
  2. It seems like you've tweaked a little something that ended up changing everything... Can't point exactly why, but it feels different now. It has lost some of the warmth it has before.
  3. That's quite useful to know. Thanks for sharing po! Actually, if you use something like Audacity, you can record all those SuperNes SFX in their 16bit glory. That requires just a bit of additional work, but I think it's worthwhile. Well, there's nothing wrong with being cautious sometimes... And nice sig by the way Millipede!
  4. Is anyone truly realizing the epic proportions of this involuntary turn of events? Zircon just saved 5 years or so worth of hardship and boosted his artistic career in just 5 minutes... Without doing anything (beside creating awesome music of course) and without even being aware of it! How awesome is that? So why bother working for Capcom now that he can work for Hollywood? ...or more precisely, Hollywood can thereby give him the credit (i.e. royalities & buisness opportunities) they ought to have given him by now.
  5. You do realize I responded positively to this one. But surely you don't seriously consider that it would be easy to remix Sakimoto's work perfectly in the blink of an eye, do you? I have my hands full ATM. But this is on my top priority list, cuz it's my favorite composer & one of my favorite soundtrack/game ever. I hear you KB.
  6. You gotta be a little more specific. Ok. I got a few quick questions here: 1- did you modified your bios parameters? 2- did you played with that by accident? 3- (optional) what is your laptop model?
  7. Holy Sandwich! Where was she hidding all these years. We could use that kind of vocal gem! Have my secretary call Yasu right away, and tell him to get his lazy ass over here pronto! We'll get him out of retirement. He haven't had some exercise since Soma Bringer...
  8. Of course, this is your future job, remember? Also, in my days, I used a program called Mix-Meister. Not sure if it could do live, but I did a lot of neat mixes back then. It supported Wav, mp3, Ogg, all blended toghether. Easy to use & pretty neat, as I remember it. Also I have to agree with Q-pa: the 'officials technovicking's aftershows' will stay burned in a corner of our minds forever.
  9. Now I really cannot wait for that to happen... even if it's on the other side of the planet! An OCremix live concert, with a coverage much like VideoGameLive would be out of this world. Eventually that will happen someday...
  10. Clearly one of the best IMO, for sure. Yasunori Mitsuda is one of my fav composer. ...which may explain why my opinion is biased.
  11. As far as my (in)experience goes, I'm gonna put aside the fact that I'm in no position to criticize that level of performance & attention to detail whatsoever. I'm just going to describe how i felt about it. This is a genre which I was familiar with quite some time ago, and this piece immediately pulls me back in time. Man you gotta love those insane synths, & sick beats. The first 4 measures already gave me the chills. The tweaked & watery funky guitars coupled to the melodic atmospheres were designed for instant win. And that purposely semi-fuzzy synth bass that add the final 'dirty' note to counter-balance the whole feels right on point. Only drawback for me is the really abrupt ending, but then again I might still be too 'green' to see all the subtility behind each choice made. I ain't got the technical knowledge to discuss this over, but I certainly loved the remixer's approach on the source tune.
  12. No time for emergency procedures! *Just dive into the ocean!*
  13. Yoch! I've been waiting for this one. So you adressed all the issues previously mentioned, and that's great. -Volume up to standard was a must, considering the judges mention it as a requirement too. -The improv (which is my fav part) now fits really well, and transition smoothly. Nicely done. -I'm not sure about the bass, being a slap one & all. But it doesn't stands out that much. That's fine. -You shouldn't have to fine tune too much as you said, cause the meat of the mix was already here. -As for the 'night club jazz' feeling, you ought to mention that in your desciption. So to avoid people thinking you haven't fine tuned as much as you should have beforehand! This track could potentially be a shocker, as it's really different in style from anything I've heard. But then again, I mean that in a positive way, cause frankly, I thought you did an exellent job on this one. And as a Megaman fan, I thank you for such wonderful tribute. Maybe you should wait for some 'experimented remixers' to drop you a line, just to be on the safe side.

  15. This thread made my eyes bleed and pushed away the limits of my reciptivity to paranormal phenomenons ... How's that for taking internet things seriously?
  16. Anyone interested in learning some Subtractive Synthesis principles? my 2 cents.
  17. Care to share the results Doulifée sensei? Also as a side note, I didn't knew we were allowed to vote for ourselves. But in that matter, I'm agreeing with what Zephyr said on the CMC26 thread: I dunno if the outcome was influenced in anyway, so I wouldn't dare to make any assumptions. ...not that it really matters now! Anyway, onward to the ORC118! ...maybe?
  18. EDIT: I mistook a project for another, sorry about that. As for this trance remix, great synth & melodic work as usual. I like it a lot... and it's coming from someone who isn't a trance fan!
  19. What a bunch of liars, thieves, and corpse robbers... If only I knew beforehand what I was getting myself into. OHC Lesson 1: "thou shalt always be carrying some concealed drum pattern in your sleeve, that no soul is aware of." Thanks for the advice elder Gario!
  20. Doesn't Winamp do this kind of job? Otherwise, you got AIMP2, and it's free. Well Fireslash requested OGG format at first. And the OGG track was converted from the mp3. So sure, no problem. Where do you want me to drop the file?
  21. BUMP! This joint is looping non-stop in my favorite playlist, but that abrupt ending make me crazy. Robotaki, where are you? Time to be a man and do the man's job: finishing what you've started. Please, the good people of Kamiki... er, OCR need you to complete this great remix!
  22. Trust me, after the fiasco of FF Spirit Within, the mighty SquareEnixEidosTaito would NEVER take the risk of a commercial disaster again. FFVII was an unanimous success, and most fans were happy and wanted some more. Thus movies, sequels, prequels, spinoff, goodies... But FFVIII divided the fans so much, that I feel it would be risky for SE to attempt a revival. That's a shame, but I'm afraid that's also the grim commercial reality of it.
