  1. This one brings back fond memories... I love the progression, and the transition between the differents parts of the song. The swells are quite good, and even though it doesn't sound as good as the symphonic suite (we're talking Yuzo Koshiro & Kaoru Wada, have mercy!), this is a wonderful hommage to the original.
  2. Ah ah. That site is pretty funny, thanks for sharing. And those zebra definitely don't need some more colors.
  3. Hi, What would help could be some specs about your config. Cause I suspect: 1- maybe your memory's lacking 2- maybe you've deactivated the file caching 3- maybe you deactivated the pagefile 4- maybe you've got 12 programs and 35 instance of your web browser opened 5- or maybe because you just have 5742 images to preview... Please be more specific.
  4. Yup. If all goes well, you should be receiving my WIP shortly.
  5. Don't tell me it's the man with the... ah can't say it, gotta let the world know where we're going these days.
  6. Are you refering to this? Anyway about your doubts, well i'm obviously far from your level, so I can't criticize the composition or quality at all. But allow me this one complain, as a VGM fan, or simply as a listener: it sounds a bit generic. It doesn't sucks (rest assured that your talent remains intact), but it doesn't stands out either. It sounds like it was composed to do the job, without taking too much risks. Certainly that bothers me, in the sense that you most certainly have the potential to do far better.
  7. Synthetic instruments, but great handling of them. I assume the mix wasn't that simple to proceed, with all the fuzz & distortion. It really exlhales the feeling of something powerful, and stay balanced till the end. Overall it holds itself pretty well, even almost 3 years after being submitted. Great remix.
  8. Agree. I'm digging this one, Kaoru Wada at his best. Right know: (from Biohazard 5 soundtrack)That track is wicked!
  9. How was the digging? I got one WIP ready to go if you're still interested. Should I wait until you recover the data for the FTP?
  10. Huh, If I'm not mistaken (and as strange as it may seems) LMMS is now available for windows. And some even claim it's the best DAW for MS operating system, but that is another story...
  11. Glad you liked it. Hopefully yes, more will be coming. And I hope some other remixers will join and give Dynamite Headdy some of the love that it deserves. That and... I actually have the feeling that this is going to backfires at me.
  12. Now I'll know what to do if I suddenly wake up in the middle of the night after a bad dream. Will be sending some WIP your way soon.
  13. Time Circuits is definitely a favorite when it come to CT music. When the song started, I didn't knew where it was going to lead me, but I soon found out. As the ambiance slowly developps, you get the feeling of being transported. The voices start, then the rythmic pattern & melody come and take you for a ride through time. As many stated, this is a dreamy atmosphere. I didn't feel the high-voltage, but this one sure was flying high. I don't use synthetizer much. But if I did, this is how I would like them to sound. A very solid, polished and thought out remix... but why is it so short? Guess I'll have to press the loop button and listen to it once more.
  14. Well, you may actually end up with more music than stages to fit in! Which is a good thing, to be able to choose from many, rather than having to use the same theme all the time. That put aside, concerning the themes requested earlier: You'll most probably need a stage clear short song, but are you really gonna need a training stage song? Cause I'm guessing your game will be as user friendly as possible, and allow for immediate fun, i.e. no need to learn how to play?
  15. Ahh the ransom of success I guess... w-wait, already? Would you mind if I took an option on the two tracks in question?
  16. Last thing I remember, I was watching that PRC commercial... Then I woke up the next morning, and found out I had already signed up for this! I don't know why, but I remember hammtaro saying something about me not knowing him like that... Crazy stuff I tell ya!
  17. Here's a remix of the song Night of Dial Q2, from Dynamite Headdy. The original was pretty short, so I took some liberty with it. Hope you'll enjoy it! EDIT: song's time is up at host. But it will be included in the album!
  18. So this is where the horror part of the franchise has been going: in saving some other character's worthless butt and making up for it's mistakes. ...that, and the rusty controls from the past century.
  19. Of course, I can understand that you're putting a lot of passion and time in this project already. By the way, are the training & level clear songs still available / wanted?
  20. I listened to your first and fourth entries only. So I was going to say something about the trumpet sound, but then I figured out you probably played it yourself. Which is far from bad, cause it gives that band feel to the song, and really participate of the whole jazz atmosphere. Somehow, certains parts make it stands out a little too much, but overall it's enjoyable. The song cuts a little too suddenly, you could have looped / faded it... but don't listen to me, I'm far too concern about small details. The drums have been redone quite well since the first iteration. I'm not an at it expert too, but the change is undoubtely significant. I like this cool, lay down vibe you've given to it. This is coming up nicely.
  21. True. On another hand, the person in charge of the level music, could also do the level boss theme in the continuity. That's called non-linear music, and it has become the trend in modern games. The music generally accelerate when there's more action on screen, then slow-down when you switch to some exploring. All without having a blank in the song, and while keeping the same melody core in substance. I dunno if it's hard to incorporate that kind of feature though.
  22. I don't know what kind of knowledge you already have in terms of audio engineering. -First, you may want to learn using a simple wave editor. Try Audacity. It's free, powerful, quite easy to understand, and it's also well documented. -Next you'll have to get a sequencer, commonly known as DAW, short for digital audio workstation. They will allow you to do multitrack editing / recording. Free ones includes LMMS or Reaper. Well documented too. -After playing with midi a little bit, you'll probably want to use some virtual instruments, or VST instead. You can find some free ones here. On a side note, the Korg Nanokey got some nice octave up/down buttons, and pitch modulators. So you'll have access to the whole range in a few button press. Don't forget to check this site tutorials, you'll find some great tools. Hope this helps you getting started.
  23. Actually I've done this numerous times, recorded from old Tape & MD player, from TV out' and of course from DS & PSP. There is some loss inevitably, but using some wave editor, you can clean the noise, enhance the track & add filters. One tip though: If you got a laptop, cut your external mic input ( not the line in) if you got one integrated into the frame, or the screen. This way you can avoid some of the extra static noise.
  24. I'm looking at track 5 - Mysterious Woods. Would it be ok with you if I upload the remix on OCremix temp storage when it's done? Don't worry by the way, I'll get to work fast, and I still have lots of memories from this dreamy chapter of the saga. But it's not about being uber, or up to the standards (which are way to high for me right now). It's just I'm kind of a perfectionist, so I better start now cause it'll take me some time.
