  1. Dave Wise, Grant and Beanland all on one OCR track as the #2000 ReMix that started the release of the DKC2 album.......*WWWHHHHHOOOOOOTTTTTTT!!!!!!* Seriously though, this a great track. Dave took a track he did around 15 years ago and molded it into a proud 2010 beast of music! The horns were great, the track easily flowed and I actually find this better than the original because it seems.....em......I don't know if this is the right word, fresher or crisper. Either way, amazing work and congrats to these VGM masters and the OCR crew! See you all at #3000!
  2. DJP- "However, the Divers still managed to construct something original, catchy, and destined to invoke the wrath of those who hold even the quirky Chocobo theme sacrosanct and/or hate rapping of any kind and/or dislike the notion of an amusing track on an FF4 album, because all Final Fantasy must be serious business at all times." Wow, is just too funny. I think DJP saw this comment coming. In fact, I'm wondering if you really feel this way or just humoring DJP's comment, because it's way too close to his "too serious" remark. That being said, I liked it. The lyrics were corny and obviously a parody (although I thought Shiva's part was pretty hot, no pun). I agree that the lyrics could have been tighter, but this is more than I'd expect. The beat was done well with the original theme and I liked the fact that it kept the same weirdness of the original (and probably made it weirder). Yeah, this is probably one of the best themes on the album.
  3. Wow, I wasn't expecting that at all. This is pretty good, and I think if you add more length to the song as well as build on it a bit (more meat, cresendos possibly, etc.) then it would be amazing. Sounds like you just need to flesh it out, but I like what you have so far.
  4. Better music, better gameplay, better storyline (kinda), better levels and more interesting end bosses. Aside from the graphics (I think they were the same), it was better than DKC1 IMO.
  5. *Plays DKC2 level complete Fanfare* Oh yeah!!!!!!! Awesome work, guys!
  6. Or hilarious, depending on which meds. Hope your ankle heals fast, Taucer!
  7. Listen to what I say, Cause I came to play Donkey Kong 2 is on the way And March 15 is the magical day! Like the sun and it's burnin' ray I've been waiting for this since last May. So light that fire down by the bay cause it's time for a DKC par-TAY!
  8. I'll be chewing some crocodile tail with banana-nut muffins, but I'll be there!.
  9. Just might be my favorite episode. I'm looking forward to all four fo those projects!
  10. A bunch of ReMixers are doing a project on the X games including MMX3, and I certain these four will be claimed and done sometime. It's in the Project section of OCR under Maverick Rising: http://ocremix.org/forums/showthread.php?t=27078 if you wanna check it out. Check the first page for a list of tracks claimed and how far along they are.
  11. DJP: "Either make a vocal mix, or make an instrumental mix, but don't pepper vocal bits around sparsely." This. Don't get me wrong, I love the vocals and the metal work around it, and it's awesome (because I seem to be one of the few that know the source) to see it worked this way. This Remix really is great all way around. I just think this sounds like half a ReMix with one music section and one vocal section. It's sounds like a solo and/or music only section could have been added after the first round of lyrics and finally end a vocal finale. But like I said, I like what IS here, and that's what counts. Great job, AMT! PS: I'm not good at hearing out metal vocals, so what are the last two lines of the lyrics? I can make out the first two, but it's the 2nd half that I can't seem to understand.
  12. If I could ReMix, it would be anything from MMX and SMRPG. Seeing as MMX has an album in the works, it'd would probably the final battle of SMRPG, with a mix of metal orca. It'd work in my head, but my lack of talent prevents me from getting it done.
  13. Hyrule Castle is in my opinion the best track on the the Link to the Past game and I'm proud to say that you can add me to the list of people who have been caught daydreaming and being woken up by the epicness at 2:40. There aren't a whole lot of songs that I can listen to for over seven minutes before I'm pacing back and forth and cheating by fast-forwarding, but this is one of those that make me sit still and smile. Disco Dan (great name BTW) delivers on this one. Sweet work!
  14. Ditto. This sounds almost too close to the source aside from the piano and the beats over it. Not saying it's a bad thing, as I like it. I just don't know if this would have held up on today's grounds. Other than that, awesome work. Love this ReMix.
  15. Hmm....kinda cool. For a track that was more like a seven second sound effect rather than a real song, this looks like you fleshed it out and gave it some beautiful sounding life. The guitar does sound a little ehhh *wiggles hand*, but all in all, the pros outweight the cons. Very nice.
  16. Who knew Link was a South Central gangsta? This mix is really good and I love the trumpet thrown in there. The hip-hopish breakbeats are just so cool and I'm really surprised. This ReMix has made this song enjoyable for sure.
  17. Yeah.....I wouldn't go as far as to call this great, but the source tune is reconizable, the beats are done well, and over all, it doesn't last long enough to get annoying. It stays consistant and gives off a little bit of a creepy melody. Sounds good to me.
  18. The first half was the best in the world and it was only the second half that allowed me to like it, but really I do like it. I don't have a problem with the samples and the march itself is epic on it's own. It has a movie soundtrack feeling to it and that's a plus for me. Not the best, but it does the job.
  19. Not bad, but I can't really give it an A+. Would an A- suffice? Just kidding, I love it, which is odd because piano only songs don't normally catch my attention like this one did. My only complaint is that the volume goes up and down a bit too much. A little more consistantcy would have polished off this great ReMix. Not bad for a first mix.
  20. I'm really surprised that the SMW soundtrack blended so well with Christmas music. I'd never imagine the music fitting in with a sleigh ride, but I'm glad someone did. This is pretty sweet and a nice surprise.
  21. Pulp Fiction + Super Mario RPG= Awesome. Oddly enough, I always imagined that Booster's theme would have fit the Pulp Fiction world, and this gives evidence to that fact. A perfect mix for #1000.
  22. Haha....I'm getting that "sleepy/relaxing/meditating" feeling from this mix. Very peaceful and relaxing. Normally I think ReMixes that are shorter than two and a minute are too short, but considering the content of this song, I think the shorter track works with it, rather than against it.
  23. Thirded. This is such a sweet ReMix and the funky jazz just makes this whole song that much more enjoyable. But this really needs another minute or two to take it up several levels.
