With a few exceptions like Emu, I think a lot of us are just doing a "from beginning to end" speed run, so probably not.

Donkey Kong Country 2: Serious Monkey Business - History

I know how you feel. Wow, my Birthday is in 3 weeks! This is going to be the best present for me if it does come out next month! Go DJP! -
The OneUps - Super Mario Kart Album (IT'S OUT)
Crulex replied to Mustin's topic in General Discussion
This is pretty sweet. The previews sound amazing and I can't wait for this to come out. Mustin's "Arnold" impressions were dead on. On a side note: SNES's Rainbow Road? ........Yeah, it was better than the others. -
Alright, sounds good. I'll do it tomorrow (College project tonight. I know my limits. )

OCR01480 - Super Street Fighter II Turbo "Flying Heaven"
Crulex replied to djpretzel's topic in ReMix Reviews & Comments
Wow. Just from 1:36 to 2:05 is worth the download. After the buttkicking electronica and asian sound twirling around for about a minute and thirty-five seconds, that slower, more asian sounding area was so welcomed. And then to pick it back up again, just amazing! This piece would sound great in a movie soundtrack, but a game one is good enough for me. Keep it up Zircon, you are one of the best! -
OCR01036 - Super Street Fighter II Turbo "Sexy Trunks"
Crulex replied to djpretzel's topic in ReMix Reviews & Comments
Interesting. A nice grooving fast jazz chill mix set to the Las Vegas stylings of Balrog's arena.....and his trunks. Yeah, well, the trunks may not be all that sexy, but this ReMix is. This is right in the middle of my dancible/relaxing spectrum, so good one Neo. -
I don't know if I can record it, because half of my equipment isn't working right, but I'd do it for the hype anyway. It's been so long since I've played it, so a playthrough sounds good to me.

As far as the hardest boss goes, I'd give it to Proto-Babil in FFIV DS, simply because that is the only boss I still haven't beaten yet. Damn Divine Judgement.
-
I can't believe I said something that stupid. Sorry. Sleep Dep. catching up.
-
Will you be doing a real run or a tool assisted run? I can't believe it takes you less than 3 hours to completely beat it 102%. That's pretty amazing, man.

OCR01783 - Street Fighter II "Red Cyclone"
Crulex replied to djpretzel's topic in ReMix Reviews & Comments
Yo, I know that this the Intrusmental Verison, and I like it, but the Vocal version was one of the best verisons of all time! (I probably just killed that Kayne joke, but hey, at least I didn't write it on my hand, eh Sarah?). I really do like this song. It makes sense that this one would be used for the game. If I heard rapping while fighting, it'd be kinda tough to focus instead of dance. Still, this song seems to lack slightly without the lyrics when heard alone. But it's still a great tune for SF2 it rocks enough to be added to my MP3. -
OCR01712 - Sonic the Hedgehog "Metamorphic Rock"
Crulex replied to djpretzel's topic in ReMix Reviews & Comments
Wow, now, this is Sonic's proudest moment. When you put two talented, amazing ReMixers together, you're bound to get something special, and this is it. The first 21 seconds sounds like something out of a villian or heel theme, cause it sounds slightly lower or darkner (IMO), but then it opens up into an epic guitar fest. The ending really got me into it. This is definantly one of those ReMixes that I'll use in a race or the final moments of an intense workout. Sweet as hell, guys. -
OCR01603 - Pokémon Red Version "TEEM.ROKIT"
Crulex replied to djpretzel's topic in ReMix Reviews & Comments
Prepare for trouble!.......oh wait, wrong Rockets. Anywho, this is pretty good for the Rocket theme and I love the rewind section at 2:43-2:53. Ten seconds and I was sold, but the other 4 minutes or so got me interested. Definantly sounds like a high tech evil lab and I think Team Rocket finally has a theme that's as evil as they are. But as much as I like puns......no DJP. Just no. -
OCR01650 - Pokémon Red Version "Clairvoyant Eulogy"
Crulex replied to djpretzel's topic in ReMix Reviews & Comments
Creepy and mysterious....I love it. The beats that back up the track give it a cool slightly hip-hop-ish sound and the bell-sounding stuff in the beginning was cool. It's a little too upbeat for the funeral sounding source it came from, but it's pretty cool for branching out and being better. -
OCR01539 - New Super Mario Bros. "Mushroom Maddness"
Crulex replied to djpretzel's topic in ReMix Reviews & Comments
New Super Mario Bros, another example that Mario will never die. You know, I have a hard time commenting on this mix because words just don't do it justice. Transforming the sound to a smaller bit was pretty cool. I will just say that I loved the transistions, the ending, and the first minute was my favorite part. -
OCR01316 - Mega Man Zero 2 "Stranger in the Desert"
Crulex replied to djpretzel's topic in ReMix Reviews & Comments
Ooohhhh.....yes. Just yes. This is beautiful in the beginning to 2:15 with the piano and the wind instrument together. I have a soft spot for those wind instruments, and more so when played like this. Then it gets into the faster sounding beat and I can really see how others could compare this to soundtrack/anime/intrumental CD's. Right after that it seems to be slow and calm again, but with more of a purpose. Oh yeah, this could work in a soundtrack or anime really well. Darn, good work, man. -
OCR01338 - Mega Man Zero 2 "Cool Mind"
Crulex replied to djpretzel's topic in ReMix Reviews & Comments
A chilling reminder that a great mix can come from anywhere and sound like anything. This breakbeating, mouthslappin' song brings to mind the "Chill" genre of techno, that relaxes and grooves you at the same time. The song flys by before I know it, and that's not a bad thing. Great Mix. -
OCR01235 - Mega Man X2, X3 & X1 "Beamsabre Beat ZERO v2"
Crulex replied to djpretzel's topic in ReMix Reviews & Comments
I'm slightly surprised that this is knocked as much as it is. The FX and voices samples seem fine to me and add a little more to the piece. A reploid like Zero should be heard. I will agree that it is a little generic when it comes to the techno side, but it retains the epic sounding second theme of Zero and expands on that by adding his first (and in my opinion, more theme-like) theme. Very nice. -
It sounds dated and really Midi-ed out in some areas, but for a track whose source was so short it drove me nuts in the first place, any improvement is good, and this sounds like an improvement. The name does rock indeed, and this is a great sound for an evil virus. Good enough for me.

OCR01522 - Mega Man X "Light in the Fortress"
Crulex replied to djpretzel's topic in ReMix Reviews & Comments
Guitar mania! Don't know what to say aside from it is awesome. Electronica is just what the doctor ordered for this song, and while his name is House, I don't think he's the same doctor. Oh yeah. I'm in a joker mood today. But the shredding on this mix before it hits the "Dr. Light" (also not the same doctor) part is pretty sweet. This is on my Top.....whatever number list for sure. -
Oh Hale yeah. (Couldn't resist. ) Man, I always enjoyed the genre of 50's style music, and I never would have thought of it mixed together could sound this good. The lyrics have a great Mario Kart feeling and Hale's voice is amazing. Really, I liked it. And is it just me, or does MK DS and MK for the SNES have a similar sounding title screen? I was playing MK SNES while thinking of this song and thought I heard a similar tune......oh well. Can't wait for your future ReMixes, man.

OCR01792 - Mario Kart 64 "Holiday Frappe"
Crulex replied to djpretzel's topic in ReMix Reviews & Comments
I'm not one to go "oh huzzah!" for Christmas music. It's overplayed and just a tiny bit too happy. All the time. It's no wonder that I like Carol of the Bells (the only seemingly not too happy x-mas song around.) That being said, I really enjoyed this ReMix, because while I do hear some Frosty, Merry Christmas and Frappe Snowland in it, it's all wrapped up tight in a wonderfully jazzy present. Very good work on this. If any song can put me in the spirit, it's this, and that's saying something. -
OCR00473 - Kirby's Dream Land "Bubbly Cloud Cafe"
Crulex replied to Ginnsu's topic in ReMix Reviews & Comments
Well, this is a happy bubbly little tune, isn't it? This is one of those ReMixes that put a smile on my face for no reason other than sounding like a great song. This lullaby/musicbox part is so cute and I am so tempted to play that part for my niece on loop. I think she'd really like it (and hopefully fall asleep). Mazedude may have some funky moments, but this is just as good as any of them. -
OCR01455 - Kirby Super Star "Victory Festival"
Crulex replied to djpretzel's topic in ReMix Reviews & Comments
The part of me that is Irish will always allow this ReMix to hold a special place in my heart. Seriously, good job on the Celtic vibe of this piece. The bagpipes, whistle, everything was just outstanding! It doesn't hurt with it being a happy go lucky tune. Well done.
