First off - here's the vid:http://youtu.be/32gzIf9McfA
Hey guys,
So, I'm in the Navy, training to be a Mass Communication Specialist (MC) and among other things we learn how to produce controlled-action video. Mine is a 30 second spot on unresolved conflict and the tone I was going for demanded a somewhat melancholy melody. For years, now, I've wanted to do SOMETHING to help spread the word of OCR in a demonstrable fashion - I mean, I can talk the ears off a cornstalk about how awesome this web community is, but rarely do I get chances to share the actual content of the site with people in a context where they're not already prejudiced against it.
So for this video I decided on McVaffe's Super Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike: Fight for the Future 'Jungle Jazz' mix - specifically the first 30 seconds. For the longest time I've also wanted to do some kind of music video with this mix - the whole thing - but for now just the first 30 seconds.
No one had a clue the music was from a Street Fighter game, let alone a video game.
I got a 98 on the project and was voted 3rd best in the class (only because there were two genuinely funny videos and I reckon people prefer to laugh rather than ponder(and I voted for one of them as my favorite, too)).
I did read through the terms of use, and I didn't get the music credit on the video itself, but it is on the YouTube site. I wasn't trying to short anyone credit, it just got lost in the mix of production, unfortunately (won't happen again).
Previously I have tried contacting someone here about using music from this site in the future but have as yet to get any responses - perhaps I was using the wrong email link, I dunno, but I really would like to continue to do so if that's agreeable with A) djpretzel, and the mixers themselves.
