  1. I've barely used it so I can't say with any certainty(I use trackers for most of my chopped up weirdness), but it sounds like dblue glitch http://illformed.org/plugins/glitch/
  2. I dislike a lot of the mundane things that aren't actually composition, for instance I recently converted all of my .sf2's and .dwp's to .xrni, or just going through samples in general. you can download thousands and thousands of sounds these days but it's also kind of a distraction when you have to decide which are worth using
  3. Robotech was waaaay back in the day, I barely remember it but yeah, you're not insane
  4. I think I heard it's getting a reprint, looked interesting to me so looking forward to that
  5. People have done good things with less, there are some things on this site that were made with freeware like modplug even. Don't focus too much on tools, it's nice if you can buy a lot of toys but it's definitely not a necessity. Anyway, it's easy to get frustrated if you set your immediate goals too high, or for that matter if you're only really trying to appease others(the judges panel, listeners, whoever). It's easier to stay motivated if you can find enjoyment simply in composing and making incremental improvements.
  6. It's missing a lot and I thought virt had VGMix 2 backed up? Kind of strange to let someone make a "here's what we could find' archive if that's the case Still very nice, recovered a few things I wasn't able to find in the other archive
  7. What if we all get wiped out by the machines but ocremix still gets it's 50k likes from robot-facebook This whole thing is a conspiracy to lull us into a false sense of security isn't it
  8. I heard there's actually three timelines now, there's two where Random Encounter doesn't get released, and the third is just a "what if OCR DID get 50,000 likes?" hypothetical scenario that isn't actually canon anymore
  9. Evil has come to OCR!?

  10. I take back my enthusiasm deal breaker.
  11. That's reasonable and I could understand it, I guess it's just the incredibly condescending tone of it that makes it come off like "how dare people have superficial fun!" This line especially reeks of a seething hatred of others music that goes beyond simply not want his own music fucked with "ANYTHING club related. which fortunately for the world *rolls eyes* makes up for 99% of the “electronic music” fad that’s apparently considered mainstream now."
  12. I have some skepticism towards some of this, it reeks of Apple...but it is great news that Reason will get third party plugins and getting Uhe on board early is great, first time Reason has looked legitimately appealing to me in years
  13. Pretty much what I got out of it. At some point years ago I'd probably have been one of the people praising this, thankfully I got through puberty and grew the fuck up. kind of
  14. I have a sansa clip and it is just drag n drop, I had another cheapo mp3 player that I drowned that was also drag n drop. The one time I tried to install itunes my sound card disappeared somehow and I had to do a system restore, never again apple, never again.
  15. Harmonies are really hard for me but I don't even really try to transcribe melodies, I'll frequently be playing around on my keyboard and suddenly be playing something familiar without realizing it, I don't think it's that difficult For things that do take more work I'll usually just load the song in question into FL and try to play alongside it with a sine wave, it's pretty easy to tell when you have the right notes that way
  16. http://soundcloud.com/liquid-wind a lot of it is just JHC's right now but hope to add some other stuff eventually
  17. Did you confirm with whomever you PM'd? I thought it was broken too because it never appears in my sent items but people are getting my messages (probably unrelated, this has been like this for a lot longer than a few weeks)
  18. Too bad, Larry and pretzel are going to come to your house and destroy your hard drive so you can't listen to all the OCR music you've downloaded again if you don't like OCR on facebook
  19. Wouldn't be surprised if an album did this in the not so distant future. And that's not even me being cynical about OCR, just facebook itself. Everything is whored through social media these days, everything. Can't say that I like it but it does show OCR's willingness to evolve, no one regularly visits websites anymore, they just follow on social media. A lot of other late 90s sites are dying off because they wouldn't adapt to this era, have to do what you have to do
  20. OCReMix is committed to the well being of all participants. Cupcakes and grief counseling will be available at the conclusion of the test. Thank you for helping us help you help us all.
  21. On some level all marketing is based on exploiting peoples stupidity, nothing new there. Only $39 too! Funny thing is that modplug and psycle(free) destroy this thing judging by their own feature comparison.
  22. Quirky stuff, some of it downright demented, I like
