  1. I recall there was some talk of upgrading the WIP forums some time ago anyway, making it part of the standard submission process might be an interesting idea
  2. they literally take most of the earlier games in the series and say "maybe this could have happened, but it didn't really happen" not that I really care much because loltimelines, but it's pretty obviously a revision and not the way it was originally planned
  3. I never have anything in my head except when I'm in a near sleep state and then it's abrasive/random nonsense that no one would want to listen to much ._.
  4. welp, well at least this is out there now so I don't have to look forward to it anymore. too bad, I'd totally buy this(or most of their psx era stuff for that matter) again if it were legitimately released on PC
  5. I'm a little skeptical about whether this will take off but looks interesting, certainly a more meaningful attempt at disrupting gaming than Nintendo's various control gimmicks or Sony and Microsoft's imitations of them. Also have to say that for a console building itself around indie games(lots of 2d games) the circle dpad is a little concerning, immediately makes me think of the 360 pad the name is also pretty awesome
  6. suspense gets to you a lot more than gore and shock factor, the way he just takes forever to actually get to you while you're slowly walking around... fuck that bathroom so much, that's just evil
  7. Not to contribute to this being derailed into an items debate but brawl/smash was never going to be "accepted by the larger fighting game community" even if it were more balanced and there was no tripping. They've always viewed it as an us against them thing, brawl having the flaws that it did just validated that pre-existing divide and fractured the smash community itself when most melee players quit brawl within it's first year
  8. It won't happen but I'd also love to see some built in aesthetic modification like brawl texture hacks
  9. I didn't say I hated Brawl, it has some obvious flaws that I think need to be addressed in a sequel. I played Brawl competitively for 3 years, I would've quit way before then if I thought it was completely terrible

  10. I'm familiar with it, he's been on about this basically since the game came out. one or two a year is nothing, there were 9 NA tournies this weekend. items play is sheer novelty, there aren't a significant number of people who want it smash does have a pretty active competitive community but you're right in that it's in spite of nintendo, it could be much more if they were even remotely supportive of it. that's why I'm hoping namco gets a lot of freedom with it and sakurai doesn't pull an other m on us where the third party has no input, if this is brawl 2.0 I won't bother getting it
  11. getting people to try something once isn't impressive, tournaments almost universally do not allow items even while stage lists are frequently different, ledge grab limits are debated, and even the legality of meta knight is much more contended. items are the one thing that basically everyone agrees have no place in competitive smash in any case, I'm hoping namco's involvement is indicative of more sensitivity towards the competitive scene. if the primary purpose of the game is all items free for alls still that's fine, but -some- attempt at balance would be nice as opposed to brawl which was basically a giant middle finger to us.
  12. Pretty disappointing presentation. Nintendo Land, SiNG, Just Dance, Wii Fit U, large chunks of time dedicated to explaining how important their latest control gimmick is. Lots of time dedicated to third party games that most of us already own on another console or PC. Nintendo games are the reason I would buy a Nintendo console and this is just looking like more and more of a repeat of the Wii. Retro's mystery project is about the only thing left that could make me get a U early in it's life now I think, though that probably won't even be that early the way it's looking MS and Sony weren't much better though sooo...pretty decidedly unhyped about consoles at the moment.
  13. I have no faith in Nintendo after the past half decade, the Wii is my least favorite console that they've ever made and the U appears to be more of the same. As for e3 however All Nintendo needs to do is not have a repeat of the vitality sensor or Wii Music and they're good.
  14. I've always found this debate silly and a lot of the vague terms people attach to sounds are frequently used to describe completely opposite things, too much mysticism, analog and digital can both be good.
  15. First season of Bleach was the best but it's tolerable until like...episode 50 something, I forget, the series should have ended sometime around when Aizen takes his glasses off
  16. Used FL today for the first time in a month, figured I should check out the beta Notes in the piano roll can now be muted(they're grey/not one of the normal colors), ctrl+Fing through the change list this doesn't seem to be listed or it's behavior explained, this occurred in a channel that I don't think I had even edited for like 10 minutes too. Found out that this is related to the new brush tool where you have to hold shift to make it work properly. Click and hold functions achieved nothing but pissing me off but at least there's an option to turn that off To the best of my knowledge there is no longer a program out there featuring a good piano roll, back to trackerland
  17. I never win music competitions(and I compo like 3 times a week...), but, dem prizes! Gonna have to try and do something for this
  18. It's still better than any other programs piano roll that I've used but because of that I also wonder why they're trying to fix it, I can get gol's obsession with changing the image of FL with the stigma it used to have, "get rid of blocks because NOOBS use them!" and all that, but I never heard anyone criticize the piano roll(until these most recent updates)
  19. Might be a troll post but I hate the new default piano roll and how it's zooming is inconsistent with the playlist(and really I don't like any of the ways it handles zooming vertically, obnoxious because it auto resizes too...), and if you just use the old PR it will revert to the ABC PR at random and every time you open a new song. Most of everything else is reversible through the options but I swear FL is becoming a less efficient program with every version, especially before you go in and spend like half an hour fixing the default settings. Saw a topic by neblix on looptalk earlier that reminded me of this http://forum.image-line.com/viewtopic.php?f=100&t=92305 I hope he activated this by accident and this isn't another example of them making the default settings worse
  20. I pretty much abandoned brawl and I doubt this(or anything) will get me back into it, but it's good to see the fans making good efforts to fix this broken mess of a game. Odds are against this becoming mainstream for tournaments because of it being a hack but hopefully it will garner some support Then again who knows, the URC was just disbanded so Brawl is actually seeing a lot of good news recently...
  21. I like image themes, so here's some excellent scenery http://i.imgur.com/F1QGd.jpg http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm7/catatando/Beautiful%20China/pretty_china_14.jpg http://i.imgur.com/OqX4n.jpg http://i.imgur.com/ePRKH.jpg http://i.imgur.com/l4Hmg.jpg http://i.imgur.com/qmNCX.jpg http://i.imgur.com/po6EX.jpg http://www.ontheroadin.com/losgalleria/prehispanic/chichen%20itza_3696.jpg http://i.imgur.com/F8kwG.jpg http://i.imgur.com/Nlr1F.jpg
